Google Analytics is the gold standard for free web analytics. As clean as it is comprehensive, this tool allows you to track, organize, and report information relatively easily.

The online control suite is quite amazing. If you know how to use it you can slice and dice your data in hundreds of ways. You can set it up to use first party cookies which is always nice. The performance of the reporting is awesome.

It doesn't play so well with other systems, and is not the most reliable when it comes to reporting accuracy. The info you can gather from google analytics is relatively simplistic and still requires a lot of manual processes to get the big picture.
