How does Intermapper work?
Intermapper polls specified network technology at timed intervals using common network protocols such as SNMP, TCP, and HTTP. The software collects key performance metrics such as availability and response time and displays the information in live maps, where network professionals can view and analyze the data. This all happens at an incredibly high speed, providing you with practically real-time information.
Intermapper contains hundreds of built-in probes that can query common network devices and bring back their data. For less common network devices, you can create your own probe by modifying simple text files to attain the specific data you need.
