What Is A Fantasy Competition?
Great question. Ambition has created a competition format similar to "Fantasy Football" which is widely popular (75M players) in the United States.
For those of you who do not like or know American Football, not a problem as I think you'll find the format is both simple and commonly used under different names.
The core concept is that employees organize into teams and compete week-to-week across a season of variable length.
Why Teams and why this format?
We've found that the team-based Fantasy approach helps incentivize more employees while simultaneously building camaraderie. Unlike a typical "one-off" competition where the same top performer usually wins... this promotes communication, collaboration, and unity in achieving a common goal.
With that said, you can choose to compete as individuals.
What do we compete over?
While we recommend the Activity Score you are able to choose any metric within the system.
So if we have Team A, Team B, Team C, Team D, Team E, Team F
Team A vs Team B
Team C vs Team D
Team E vs Team F
Team A vs Team F
Team B vs Team E
Team C vs Team D
... through Week 10
At the end of the season the four teams who have won the most weekly games will compete in a Playoff bracket with one team being crowned a winner.
The Playoffs last for two weeks and the top four teams are seeded by their regular season rank where Rank 1 would be Seed 1.
Playoff Week 1:
Game 1: Seed 1 vs Seed 4
Game 2: Seed 2 vs Seed 3
Playoff Week 2 (Championship):
Winner of Game 1 vs Winner of Game 2
Loser of Game 1 vs Loser of Game 2
Best of the Rest
What about the other teams that did not make the Playoffs?
We don't want anybody sitting on the sidelines, that wouldn't be very conducive to productivity right?
The other teams compete in a two-week-long competition with the winner being crowned the Best of the Rest.
After all is said and done, you have:
1st Place Winner
2nd Place Winner
3rd Place Winner
Best of the Rest Champion
(Sorry 4th Place, better luck next time)
