We partner with two CPQ vendors — SteelBrick and PROS. We recommend you implement both CPQ and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) at the same time. If you go with a CPQ tool first then once the quote is created it goes into Notes and Attachments in Salesforce (or whatever CRM you use). If you need to use features like redlining or version control, it becomes very difficult. Also, if you eventually decide to go with a CLM tool like SpringCM after you’ve already implemented CPQ, then you need to do double the work by taking everything that is in Notes and Attachments and get them into your CLM tool.
