We have found through research and by speaking with our customers that managers and employees at high-performing companies usually have the following five conversations throughout the year:
Goal Planning & Reflection - What are the top things you're going to work on?
Progress Updates - How are you progressing on your goals?
Manager-Led Coaching - How effective are you being in your role and fulfilling your potential?
Upward Feedback - How can your manager and company better support you in your role?
Career Growth - What are your career aspirations and how can we help you achieve them?
We recommend that managers have these conversations with their employees at the cadence that is most appropriate for them. Additionally, these conversations do not necessarily represent separate meetings and many conversations can be covered in the same meeting.
