"It's a functional system, with a lot of work to do."

What do you like best?

Cloud based, allows you to access from any device. SmartView, once up and running will improve a lot of the browser and access issues. Senior support reps are great. When they get your ticket, they can usually solve an issue in a few minutes

What do you dislike?

Many new people in their support department, due to a lot of growth and turnovers in the past 2 years. Often times you will be told 3PL Central is not capable of doing something by a rep, then 2 months later, another rep will tell you it was able to do that for years and they show you how. Support reps can be frustrating, when they do not know an answer, instead of escalating the ticket, they will reply with vaguely related questions, instead of answering your original question. Support rep training is one of the biggest negatives for 3PL Central.

2nd biggest issue: very limited metrics from platform. There is no reporting of pick and pack times for employees, limited reporting as to dailiy production / order fulfillment. No reporting or metrics in other areas that help manage a warehouse or improve performance. In talking with other warehouses that use 3PL Central, many have to pay 3rd party platforms to export data from 3PL and analyze. The reports they do offer are poorly formatted and mostly made to look good for a pdf print out, but not setup for utilizing in excel with pivot tables or analyzing data. (There are many merged fields and sub-headers instead of columns labeling data, so data cannot be sorted without a lot of cleanup.) Mobile hardware is limited due to the browser limitations, so you cannot use more easy to use or smaller portable mobile devices.

Currently, the ClassicView is limited to browsers that can utilize MS Silverlight and Java. SmartView was slated to launch January 2017, it was moved up and moved up. Latest word is it will be launched in 3-6 months.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It works as a basic platform and will plug and play with many ecommerce carts easily. If you want detailed metrics, deeper analysis, or more capabilities, be prepared to either pay a lot extra for customer modifications or to add 3rd party add-ons.

"Solid warehousing management system"

What do you like best?

The system is rather easy to use, has good features, has good support, allows integration to other systems (we use SOAP and REST APIs), inventory is sent to shopping cart integration.

What do you dislike?

We interface - for fulfillment - to shippers (like USPS, DHL, Canada Post, etc) and print the shipping labels from another system - so features can always be added (but as a warehousing system it is fine). Sometimes there are hiccups at importing orders - but a retry usually is successful.

Recommendations to others considering the product

3PL Warehouse Manager continues to add new features almost every month. It is not perfect, but it always seems to improve and introduce something new.

We use 3PL Central as the system to manage our warehousing, for a few years already. Having the system not in-house, allows us to reduce IT spending and keep it as simple as possible.

"I love 3pl central, have the best wms server "

What do you like best?

I love 3pl central, have the best wms server , Works way better than ramp, manhattan

what i like about 3pl is that we can batch update mulitple information through Find Orders, create batches through their. Like the fact that we can import the order template and ASN inbound from excel spread sheet. to 3pl central. BOLs are very easy to create. love the way the item, transaction reports are shown in 3pl , it includes all the information needed when doing research such as date order got created, shipped, transaction number, reference number, PO number, item number, and quantity. the invoices are easy to understand and print. love the fact 3pl respresentaive can map the wms to United parcel service (UPS) worldship. All the necessary information gets imported and all tracking numbers gets exported from the world ship to 3pl central. we are working on getting ourselves set-up the FedEx manager, that way 3pl can help us do the mapping from the wms to FedEx manager

What do you dislike?

The dislike i have sometimes is that there is times the system is really slow.

you can imporve 3pl if a number generates automatically when invoicing a customer and removing all $0.00 amount when printing invoices.

I'll say everything else is good no dislikes. I think this the only dislike i can recall from on top of my head.

no problems at the moment with 3pl . Issues we had before was just about the system being a bit slow but other that that we having had any issues at the moment.

"I have had an overall positive experience with 3PL. "

What do you like best?

I like how easy 3pl Central is to use. I looked at other systems before choosing 3PL and liked that this got the job done for most things we needed. I love that its cloud based and can log in from anywhere.

What do you dislike?

I often wait on hold for close to ten minutes if I have an urgent response needed, otherwise I use the customer support email. Also, the responses sometimes are super fast and other times I need to prod to get an answer. I think 3PL would benefit greatly if they integrated deeper with Amazon and allowed users to "buy prime shipping" through smart parcel, which currently isn't an option. We can connect to our Amazon cart but cant buy the prime shipping, we had to open an account with Shipstation to make this happen

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

There are many benefits. I like being able to give my customers access to the customer portal. I also like being able to create shipping labels directly from smart parcel.

"3PL Central has done a great job as a WMS"

What do you like best?

3PL Central has been easy to use and learn. it does a great job tracking our inventory and they do a great job of using feedback to upgrade the system. When I do have issues or questions, they do have really good follow up.

What do you dislike?

I wish that there was more support for the mobile scanners. They don't do as much as I wish that they would, and that is the one area that support is lacking.

We needed a system that tracked storage items at our warehouse, and 3PL Central has been doing a good job with that.

"For a WMS at this price, it's OK"

What do you like best?

Web based 3PL interface easy access, kind of easy checking reports and do adjustment. 3PL central service team always response quick and easy to follow up cases.

I think the low price is the pro why most of small warehouse choose to use

What do you dislike?

1.The scanner is really hard to use.

2.only can manage one "UOM", it's hard for warehouse to do "open stock"(open cartons) operation.

3. System kind of not stable sometimes.

4. System really picky, all the entry need use "Tab" button or something to bring out the SKU#.

The only good thing: can easily generate pick ticket, inventory report. Before, that's the only need from customer side. After customer had more requirement, it's kind of hard to use.

"Overly complex software that is very non-intuitive to use. "

What do you like best?

The software does seem to keep inventory accurately. It is our first WMS and does do its intended function, just not efficiently or easily. The company is trying to drag itself into the year 2018 with a completely new UX, which should be an improvement, if it's ever complete.

What do you dislike?

Onboarding and customer service is dreadful. As far as onboarding, maybe it was just luck of the draw that our onboarding manager appeared to be a newbie. He did his best, for sure, but he never could seem to grasp our particular business and the workflow that went with it. When our process didn't fit the basic cookie-cutter fulfillment process that he must have been used to, it was impossible to get our questions answered. Furthermore, there doesn't appear to be any sort of customer support to get a question answered when you really need it. Instead, you can either submit a ticket or call their help line which results in the person who answers taking down your question... and submitting a ticket on your behalf. Sometimes these are addressed within 24 hours, but often it extends to 2 or 3 days. How is there not someone that can pick up the phone and answer basic questions??? Most software in this class allows the users to integrate with partners on their own, instantly. Not 3PL Central. You must submit a request to the API team to, say, integrate your customer's Woo Commerce shopping cart with 3PL Central. Then, they must do the integration for you, which takes a day or two. Also, it would be great if they actually completed the new version of the user interface (called SmartView) this year. We were told that it would be ready to go 6 months ago. It's slowly coming along, but for now, we are left toggling between the old and new versions. Finally, we feel that we're being nickeled and dimed for access to APIs that are necessary for any 3PL that is servicing companies whose customers are individual consumers. Any use of an API for say, a given ecommerce shopping cart, carries a large upfront cost. One more: reporting is terribly difficult to use and customize as one must utilize Microsoft Report Builder 2.0. As far as business intelligence tools go, this one seems prehistoric.

Despite its problems, which I've listed above, 3PL Central does allow us to serve direct response and ecommerce sellers effectively. The main problem we're solving is keeping accurate inventory for our customers who trust us with their inventory and receiving, shipping, and reporting back the details of their customer orders.

"first year down"

What do you like best?

3pl support is fantastic, very attentive and the team helps out right away with any issues

What do you dislike?

Only issue is the long hold times on the phone, however those have seem to take less and less time. Still prefer email response

Organizational issues are resolved as soon as the product is received due to 3pls software. The more organized the warehouse the easier it takes to maintain and keep clients happy

"Great overall for small-mid size 3PL's. "

What do you like best?

Multiple customer management and access to information is well organized, easy to use. Most inventory mgmt. features are great, and are being improved in the next V2. API/EDI connections and capabilities are great.

What do you dislike?

Lag time in has been an issue, especially with larger companies. API's/EDI great, have had some issues....customer service response time has not been ideal although the reps are good to work with. Limited in certain areas, for example kitting and value add using the assemblies....needs to be more robust.

Great for 3PL's small to mid-size

"Small Business 3PL"

What do you like best?

3PL Central's offers great support. On-boarding new clients with different tracking and integration needs is difficult and time consuming. Having 3PL Central walk us through the different options and setup has proven to be an essential part of our quoiting processes and a big time saver.

What do you dislike?

I feel that 3PL central would improve on their support if they had videos for users to log into and learn different aspects of the functionality.

With ever changing and a vast array of e-commerce platforms. We don't have to be experts all all of them. 3PL Central talks care of that for us.

"Using to run a small 3PL provider in NZ"

What do you like best?

Manages the warehouse stock and orders with ease

What do you dislike?

Sometimes it is a bit clunky and if you make an error (mainly with importing) the system seems to struggle to give you a clear answer on what is wrong which can be frustrating

Stock management and order recieving are the main benefits. Integration with Shopify is really good and saves so much time

"Secret to our Growth"

What do you like best?

Ability to cater to our growing needs. We have doubled in size each year, thanks in large part to the services we can offer using 3PLCentral

What do you dislike?

Lack of easy way to cycle count or inventory products. Lack of directed put-away with the mobile/hand-held computers. Clunky integration with quickbooks. Way over-priced integration's.

3PL has allowed us to expand and growth dramatically and have always been responsive to our needs for added functionality and changing requirements in the direct to consumer fulfillment environment/market.

"EFS and 3PL"

What do you like best?

API's...the ability to bring data from an online marketplace and have them populate rather than my having to manually create orders.

What do you dislike?

The training videos...mind numbing. It resembles watching grass grow, only watching grass is more fun.

Train, train, train. The more you know the better the software.

Time. Time is a problem for any growing business and 3PL gives me the ability to manage more clients' product and gives me more time to service the client's need(s).

"Comprehensive but lacking some crucial API options"

What do you like best?

REST API features. Lots of options to customize reports. Many available query pages.

What do you dislike?

Not having enough REST API routes like confirming orders. Trying to use the SOAP API. Trying to export data in an easy way/format that can be uploaded to other systems, they are difficult to work with because column names are so generic and if an order has items they show in the same worksheet/file with more generic names, it is confusing.

Review the API documentation and confirm what end-points are actually available to users. Ensure all forms/queries support your business data points.

The ability to record and query data. Generating reports and using the API to import/export data.

"Great Program! "

What do you like best?

Our biggest challenge was properly keeping our inventory accurate. With 3PL Central its quick and accurate

The interface can use an overhaul but I understand that's in the works and will be available soon

"Helpful Management"

What do you like best?

It is great to have a 3PL Warehouse Manager to ship out some of our products. It lyncs our system and WMS to ship out items so we do not have to use our own warehouse. It helps manage my various customers and channels so we do not have to ourselves.

What do you dislike?

What I dislike is that it can be quite expensive. Although we are not using our own warehouse, but they bill us for using boxes and warehouse space. Inventory is often miscalculated, a lot of discrepancies that does not match what our system shows.

This is helping our warehouse and shipping team, as well as order processing.

What do you like best?

System is pretty intuitive and easy to use.

What do you dislike?

The on-boarding process was not sufficient to really get the system set up and running. Tech support has improved but still could use some more improvements. User Groups and FAQ section on the website would be very helpful

Using Smart Parcel the shipping process has been made more seamless. Freight billing is also taking us less time.

What do you like best?

Simplicity. No frills. Great reports.

Tech support tries to help whenever needed.

What do you dislike?

Being unable to adjust quantity, placard, lot number, and location in one place. Moving through different screens when we are updating our inventory is very time consuming.

Also, not being able to reprint a placard (movable unit label) without knowing the receiving information.
