"Incredible Software & Exception Service"

What do you like best?

Acctivate does exactly what it is supposed to do and it is very intuitive and easy to use. I just love the software and I love the team of people who support it.

What do you dislike?

There is nothing I dislike! It has everything I need and then some!

Recommendations to others considering the product

There's no question the software works. It does everything that it is advertised to do. Furthermore, their customer support is off the charts great! They bend over backwards to make sure you know how to use it. They also have excellent tutorials right on line, so you can find very well prepared materials to keep you operating at the highest level.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

QuickBooks cannot effectively manage inventory. And, QuickBooks cannot track it by lot codes that are necessary for managing perishable products. Acctivate has simply changed our company from an ineffective and inefficient company into a professional leader.

"Acctivate with Quickbooks enterprize"

What do you like best?

The software integrates well with Quickbooks Enterprize (QBE). Our QBE file had grown to an unruly slow size because of our large inventory. We had to do something before our system failed as Intuit was warning us the file size was getting too large and they could not fix issues with the file. Using Acctivate solved this issue for us and at the same time provided us with a fairly good CRM solution which was another problem we were facing.

What do you dislike?

The preparation and transition was extensive. The was a formadible learning curve for our small organization

Form a team of people who clearly understand your current processes.

Develop the workflow in Acctivate using the model company.

Develop a good test plan to resolve workflow issues early

Provide training to users early using the model company and before go-live

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Acctivate resolved our excessively large Quickbooks Enterprize (QBE) file issues and also gave us a reasonable CRM which we needed. It integrates well with QBE and fixed our file size issues.

"Not the best fit, but it works"

What do you like best?

Ability to link transactions

copy emails to a transaction

various easy ways to search transactions and products

Ability to track items by lot #

Ability to do manufacturing assemblies

What do you dislike?

we were sold a service that we have never used

It doesn't work well with the products that we inventory in pounds

It allows for a lot of accounting errors that you have to find on your own

there aren't enough preventive measures to help keep the costing accurate

basic reports are mediocre and one report adds up the totals wrong and hasn't been fixed

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure you spend time monitoring your financial statements for errors in the first few months. Make sure you review what modules you purchased before your implementation ends to make sure everything was setup. Make sure you understand the workarounds if you have inventory in pounds.

We needed a way to track related transactions and acctivate has been incredibly helpful in that way

"Some pro's and cons that we have encountered"

What do you like best?

I love that the capabilities seem endless. The Dashboard is amazing. The inventory management is exactly what we needed.

What do you dislike?

I do wish it was better at reports. Some of the reports that I would like don't exist without Crystal Reports and Crystal Reports seems very expensive per user. I wish I didn't need Crystal Reports to get what I need.

Sometimes Acctivate is glitchy and just closes down. Some times it changes the number of pieces I enter on the line items. It does not transfer the invoice reports to Quickbooks very well at all. All of our customer part numbers have to go in the special instructions field but this field does not show up if we email the invoice from Quickbooks. The invoices look horrible when we email them from Quickbooks.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Almost anything that is not included in Acctivate can be added with addons.

Its inventory management but also a CRM built in. No need to use a separate CRM.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Acctivate has helped us for any of our current CRM needs and has everything that we will need for our CRM needs in the future as our company grows. The Dashboard is amazing, giving everyone that logs in a great view of how the business is doing or has been doing. The fact that Acctivate almost acts as a building block that can have addons installed into it to make it more versatile or cover any needs that is not already included is definitely a great benefit. We used to have to manually create labels for every line item that was sold and now its all automated thanks to a report we had created and added to Acctivate. A huge benefit is the Inventory Management. We have more inventory than what can be managed manually so the inventory management has helped us immensely. Our business comes to a halt without inventory so this is a big deal.

"Solid program and decent business solution."

What do you like best?

The best feature is the self contained robustness that acctivate offers. From an inventory standpoint, we can set all kinds of min/max values and really keep tabs on our products. It can generate tons of reports and custom ones can be made as well.

In addition, from a sales side, it stores plenty of addresses and the process of submitting a PO or invoicing the order is a breeze.

What do you dislike?

It does have a few perceived shortcomings.

1) Very heavy on the graphic resources: This often leads to improper shut downs of the program, visual errors and memory issues. This has some to do with our choices in hardware, but it is very resource intensive.

2) Pre-auth: Some programs will allow your pre-auth to be adjusted in the upward direction. Acctivate is not one of those. You must delete it and then charge separately (effectively removing double funding from your customer).

3) Sensitive order of operations: There are some actions that must be done in order. If you don't, you end up in an endless error loop that could eat of 5 minutes of your time. For example, if you have a dropship D and a lot number assigned. If you change it to a Stock Shipment (P) before removing the lot number, you will end up in an error loop.

4) Windows: You are only able to have a finite (20's ish for me) amount of windows open. Furthermore, the window button only shows you 10 active windows. So if you are using 15, you can't switch directly to them using the window tab.

There are some more that could eventually be improved upon, but these aren't "deal breakers" just improvement possibilities.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Have someone on staff who is very computer savvy. Preferably an in house tech to help explain/troubleshoot or communicate with Acctivate staff when help is needed. While there are a great deal of tutorials, you will only be able to get out of Acctivate the same quality of work you can put into it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Quickbooks records all of our financials as it has much more malleability for transaction needs. However, we heavily rely on Acctivate to track our sales data and inventory management. An area that Acctivate is very strong in.

"New Company, Needed an inventory management/sales system"

What do you like best?

The flexibility to create custom reports that help me get the information that I want. The ease of use that helps me train new employees quickly. The Order Manager that directs the flow of an order from quotation to delivery.

What do you dislike?

Some of the journal entries created in QuickBooks after synchronization are difficult to trace. The inability to look up vendor information outside of creating a PO. The lack of suggested MIN/MAX stocking quantities.

Recommendations to others considering the product

There are a number of options out there. Acctivate is very reasonably priced for the capacity that it can function. Acctivate is worth a look and the customer service team has been a big help in solving issues with getting the information that I need. They are a phone call away and can only help if you call.

The order manager tab is a quick snapshot of what is/should be going on in each area of our business (i.e. warehouse, dispatch, inside sales)

"The software does its job and exceeds in a lot of ways, but undoing mistakes can be a pain"

What do you like best?

I really like that orders are very neat and the software is very easy to use if you do not make mistakes. All the functions are intuitive and do not take very long to learn,

What do you dislike?

If you make a mistake with some of the functions like inventory or cost landed, then fixing those mistakes can be very time consuming and difficult. The support often takes longer than we would like. They are helpful, but do not always answer their phone and the online ticket process can be a pain.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you are a smaller company that uses QB and needs to an inventory management software then Acctivate really offers a lot for a reasonable price.

The software has provided an easy way for our purchasing department to receive containers and track different custom orders. The reporting functions have really helped to track sales numbers and margins on our products.

"Has confused the way I spell Acctivate forever... "

What do you like best?

Ability to sync with our web store, QuikBooks, etc.

What do you dislike?

Having to click edit to start working on anything. I'd much prefer just being able to start typing. Clicking the magnifying glass before searching, it'd be nice if you could just type in the search field, and it would you know... search.

Recommendations to others considering the product

1-10 million dollar company that can handle an off the shelf software, great. Larger companies should avoid, customization is limited and updates Acctivate comes up with normally benefits their broader user base but can often negatively impact your companies personal user experience.

"Amazing software for in real time inventory, issue tracking, and accounting."

What do you like best?

Inventory control all in one place, ordering, receiving, billing and being able to see inventory in real time. Also that it synchronizes with Quick Books. Also that support could be quickly and easily received from knowledgeable support team. I really like that lots of information can be stored and accessed in reports in widgets and through quick look ups.

What do you dislike?

Not enough readily available reports, and reports have to be edited with separate software, not whole lot of easy click customization. It would be great to have better customer, vendors, contacts inquiry developed, so that contacts detailed reports could be produces and exported.

Acctivate is amazing program for inventory control, and has lots of add on modules available to make job easier. Also is great for tracking activities and issues, and has endless potential of all kinds of reports and information in your data base. Great customer support and knowledgeable team always ready to assist.

Inventory control, serial number tracking. I realized that it is great tool to keep track different types of inventory, and I could produce overall picture of inventory history, specially for each individual customer. Also there is great benefit of issue tracking ability, this helps with issue and resolution tracking and history.

"Fantastic, especially for the cost"

What do you like best?

The software addressed many of the needs of a growing business, from sales order management to inventory and fulfillment.

What do you dislike?

Would like more options in the area of permissions throughout the application. Audit trail is virtually non-existent and would like a stronger landed cost module.

In our use of the software, Quickbooks continues to be our accounting software as it is directly integrated with ACCTivate. It is imperative that if you are considering this configuration; your Quickbooks MUST be clean and organized. Take the time to organize your company in Quickbooks and address any lingering issues before rolling out ACCTIvate. This will ensure a painless integration.

The ability to allocate inventory on an order by order basis, reserve stock and improved visibility of stock via the use of bins has greatly improved fulfillment rates as well as inventory accuracy.

"Great Inventory Management Software! "

What do you like best?

While we also use it for sales and customer management, I really like the inventory management features the best!

What do you dislike?

Sometimes the canned reports aren't easily customize-able.

No product is perfect and covers ALL of your software needs; however Acctivate's ability to work with QuickBooks allows us to have a product for our inventory and customer/sales needs much better than what QB can provide alone. It has worked very well for us for over 10 years and has continued to improve each year. The company also does a tremendous job of providing training and webinars when there are improvements and changes!

We are an extremely fast paced distributor, so Acctivate allows us to manage our sales and order processing, as well as our large and complex inventory needs!

"For our application the software has some better reporting than QB, but very similar in abilities."

What do you like best?

The detailed reports that can be pulled is a plus. Business alerts are nice to have all the information located on one central screen.

What do you dislike?

Support call back times have lengthened. Will get stuck in continuous loops often and the program will shut down. I wish this had a feature to sync the data between QB in the background and then also be able to fix sync items without calling support.

Make sure you understand the capabilities, especially if you have different divisions in your company along with being a manufacturer may not be the right fit.

We have realized that having an inventory software such as Acctivate has saved time wasted having to always guess where parts are in the warehouse or in the flow of work in progress.

"Great Customer Experience"

What do you like best?

The customer service is phenomenal. I am able to get a rep to help me do custom work or fixes in a moments notice.

What do you dislike?

There are some features that still seem a little bit underdeveloped. I've had issues with web API's and some other mass inventory update features.

Great product at a great price point.

I use it to tie into Quickbooks and manage all inventory. Before Acctivate, we did not have a system at all which was a nightmare. It has helped us get organized and managed.

"a learning experience"

What do you like best?

the support staff is always available to help with issues or problems that arise and to answer any questions we have. The turn around time between requesting support and getting a solution is very good.

"Essential functions crash the whole program."

What do you like best?

I like the ability to see emails sent out of Acctivate to customers with the attachments on each order (sales or purchasing). This gives me a good base to look back on to check my work when a problem arises.

What do you dislike?

The reorder tab constantly crashes and glitches. This means I have to manually force Acctivate to close. This also happens when trying to attach something to purchase orders. If I click something to take away from uploading it will glitch and that is the only screen that will appear when I try to close and go into anything else till I close the entire program.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Acctivate is a little difficult at times. They need to fix all the glitchy portions- it seems like there is a problem with the reorder screen specifically. However, it works decently for us. We use it for Purchase orders to our vendors that link to the Sales orders we have or just for stock and for invoices.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

This isn't a feature I use too often with my job title but I can check and see how much we have of something in each location which is helpful. The only non helpful part of this situation is when I have a partial inventory partial drop ship order then it just looks complicated and I have to go into the order specifically to see where my problem is.

"Acctivate as a CRM, an Inventory Managment, and a CS tool."

What do you like best?

I like the business activities the best. They are tied into every aspect of the software, and can completely be customized to the business's need. I also think the Lot numbered inventory management is great, We keep much better track of our inventory. The dropship PO's being created from sales orders is another feature that is really liked and utilized in my company.

What do you dislike?

My main dislikes are the crashes and not having Reports that work exactly as we need.

Having an in-house IT to spearhead the project of switching to Acctivate will be really Helpful.

Order Management is a great feature assuming Min Max values are setup appropriately for each product. It really helps keep the process smooth and on top of having enough stock on hand. Over time as we adjust the Min max values based off of previous sales, it makes it so we only have stock on hand that is needed.

"Reliable and Efficient"

What do you like best?

Acctivate has been our software if choice for eight years now. I appreciate its adaptability and ease of use for our whole team. I don’t see changing any time soon.

What do you dislike?

My only wish is that their support team had a Crystal Reports expert to help with customizing reports.

"Acctivate Review"

What do you like best?

That Acctivate maintains customer order history.

What do you dislike?

That you can not open Vendor Invoices in Acctivate. . That it doesn't record every person that made changes to invoices, or sales orders, etc. When posting inventory counts it doesn't show me the current count, but it does show what the system has for the current count on the count sheets. It should be both. Once you enter a count you should be able to adjust it in case there was a mistake during entry. That I can't alter a quantity while creating a PO in the reorder screen.

"Easy to use"

What do you like best?

How easy it is to transition from another software to this one.

What do you dislike?

Freezes all the time. Getting stuck in a loop hole when an error message pops up and you can't exit without restarting the program. It's slow.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Please fix glitches. For example, when entering a transfer, if you enter the wrong warehouse it will not let you simply change it. You need to reenter it completely with all the same information again. Acctivate also gives stupid confusing instructions. Please fix that asap.

"Acctivate in my everyday E-Commerce Job"

What do you like best?

It is quick! I can type in a Style #, and I can count on it to open up immediately. It has never really let me down as a software, as it is pretty easy to navigate.

What do you dislike?

Start time can be kind of slow for me sometimes. I can get random pop-up windows from time to time, slowing down work. It can be laggy every once in a while.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I am using Acctivate as a tool to list our company's products on Amazon. It is the perfect companion to pull up information regarding the dimensions for items, or any other information that I may need.

What do you like best?

Ease of use and ability to access the database directly to create custom apps.

What do you dislike?

Could have more CRM like functionality and tighter integration with quickbooks. Also it would be nice if it had more reports built in.

"Acctivate Review"

What do you like best?

I like the fact that Acctivate offers many different reports.

What do you dislike?

That half of the reports aren't complete. Example: reports - order processing - salesperson sales - your fields are only date and salesperson. The name of the report is Product class by salesperson you don't even offer the product class.

On alot of the reports the fields are defaulted to egual to and you don't have the option to change it.

Another thing is 40% of the time you when you are trying to sign in you can't get your log in to pop up.

It freezes up alot. I have figured out to hit Esc and most of the time it corrects it's self.

I appreciate the depth in which Acctivate goes into within products, cycles, and Stocking levels.

What do you dislike?

The system crashes often, the out of the box reports need constant updating to work and it is difficult to get the information you need in a short amount of time.

"Great "lite" ERP software for small busines"

What do you like best?

All of our most important information is in one place: customers, orders, POs, and invoices.

What do you dislike?

It'd be nice to have a bit more customization on certain things (like pre-populating email addresses in email message templates). That said, Alterity is constantly improving the product based on customer feedback.

They offer live demos and trials -- definitely check it out.

"Great Software"

What do you like best?

Ease of use, and the ability to customize many parts of the software.

What do you dislike?

Complexities interacting with QuickBooks - there are certain ways of doing things such as credits in QuickBooks, that have to be done a little different in Acctivate to sync properly to QuickBooks.

Acctivate has helped us streamline our business. Knowing what products we have in-stock and when products will be arriving is essential in today's business environment.

What do you like best?

The flexablity. Acctivate can be customized to fit the needs of my company. The integration with crystal reports makes it easy to design reports just for my needs.

I wish that Acctivate had a Vendor Center. It gets vendor information from Quickbooks, which is limited.

What do you like best?

I think it has an easy interface. I have used lots of programs for data entry and this one is pretty nice. It has features that other previous programs I have used and was an easy transition.

It has a lot of glitches. There's so many warnings when adding things and its slow.

Very easy system to use and navigate I like how you can setup the dashboard once and it is ready when needed. .

"Excellent Program for Small Businesses"

What do you like best?

Custom Fields and inventory management is how we currently use this product.

What do you dislike?

I would like to be able to store more photos

We run into duplicity issues with how it syncs our Amazon purchases.

It acts as our PLM and our ERP. This is the lifeblood of our company.

"acctivate!"

What do you like best?

ease of use, customization, ability to set different roles for different users.

What do you dislike?

updates tend to fix issues but cause existing working things to stop working

go for it ! use mendelson consulting for the implementation, they made the transition smooth and painless.

"Acctivte is Great"

What do you like best?

I love that I can flip between sales orders and inventory quickly and with ease.

What do you dislike?

I believe the reports could be better and more detailed

I love that i can see whats on hand in real time. It helps a lot when doing inventory counts. I also love the notes that can be left in each customers account

"Good software that is missing some critical features."

What do you like best?

How easy it is to use with quickbooks 2017.

What do you dislike?

Customer service. Ability to edit reports and change forms within the program.

Being able to access realtime inventory levels without having to put physical eyes on product. Purchasing and sales are a breeze.

"Acctivate software meets our needs"

What do you like best?

I like the easy integration with QuickBooks and being able to create reports that help me do my job.

What do you dislike?

I strongly dislike the fact that every time there is an update to the product, we have trouble. And this last update is the worst - I have trouble signing in. It took an entire hour this morning - time that I do not have.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Acctivate makes billing and exporting to our accounting program a smooth process.

"Acctivate is great for working with inventory and Quickbooks."

What do you like best?

Communication between quickbooks and Acctivate make inventory control very clear and easy to get reports.

Reports are not as easy to customize as I would like.

"Mostly positive"

What do you like best?

Activate is easy to use. It is easy for me to find information i am looking for.

What do you dislike?

Cannot view vendor invoices in activate-

Sometimes status changed dates are way off

There are some limitations with syncing to Quickbooks

I work in accounting- so I process invoices which are sent over to Quickbooks- for me it is a fairly simple process and I can easily see what is left open on POs

Simplicity of the system and it's ease of ise

The lack of inv mngmnt reports and having to reach out to 3rd party vendors to build reports.

sometime limited in configuration or information i want to pull

We know where everything is and how much of our products we have on hand! It also helps us keep track of orders and ensures we don't oversell.

User friendly option in creating precise PO's and intricate reports that really "drill down" on inventory.

What do you dislike?

Reports are not diversified enough, need more options on determining usage.

interaction between modules from purchasing to sales orders

new version has all sorts of errors in it , hate the sort function now; it use to be better on older verxion
