Over the past ten years I've used pretty much every email tool on the market. That includes heavyweights such as Mailchimp and Aweber, and I thought that they were as good as it got.
I then used Infusionsoft, paid the hefty startup fee and settled into paying their extremely high monthly premiums.
I really thought that it was necessary to pay such high fees to get the functionality I needed, but then someone recommended ActiveCampaign, and I was taken aback.
For $17 (the lite plan), I was getting more email routing functionality that Infusionsoft. I then persuaded my sales guy to move from his CRM system, so we upgraded. There's no going back!
You can tell that the team at ActiveCampaign are passionate about their product. The functionality is incredible, and available to everyone, regardless of budget.
We therefore recommend it to all our customers, one in particular has had incredible success.
I set up a campaign for people to sign up to download a free e-book. I connected the landing page (built myself, it's really easy to integrate), and set it free. In two months, they've got a 54% growth in their mailing list with only one unsubscribe. This is because the routing I was able to set up (easily), allowed me to track the customers all the way through the process, reacting to the links they clicked on, reminding them if they hadn't downloaded the e-book, and sending different messages if we suspect the emails are ending up in their "promo" folder.
The functionality and flexibility really is that good.
It's hard to pick faults, but if I were pushed, I'd say the layout and colour scheme is a little bit dated. When compared to Mailchimp, it can look a little "flat", but it really doesn't affect the functionality which is the most important aspect.
