Small DBA Software | Adminer

What do you like best?

The software itself is mindblowing and easy to install on the server and use. As it is only a point about uploading one file to the server, it is quite beneficial for Database Administrators to set it up.

What do you dislike?

The UX is not very good. It's not directly intuitive to the user. Else, I have no issues with this software. It's good.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Recommending it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Use it for administrating various DBMS locally as well as remotely. Works well on even big databases. The simplistic file makes it very intriguing.

Easy DB Panel | Adminer

What do you like best?

The best part about this product Adminer is that it's free and open source and also only one file needs to be copied to the server for the installation of this, unlike other famous tools like PHPMyAdmin where full folder needed to be copied.

What do you dislike?

For my daily usage, this works just fine and doesn't have anything that I dislike.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Used to monitor database changes and adminisiter database via Adminer. It's quick and hassle free, and also has dynamic qualities and is lightweight so can be installed anywhere anytime like a portable PHP script.

Adminer, the simplest DB admin panel

What do you like best?

Technically, Adminer seems just a PHP script but it encapsulates a fully-functional database administration panel. Even if it's contained in a single page, it can be easily compared to other famous tools like PHPMyAdmin and it wins in many points: smart autocomplete when creating tables, persistent and multiple login sessions, easy export functionalities and a much more concise graphical interface. Also, the setup is the simplest thing ever: you just have to put the script in a folder and you are done!

What do you dislike?

For my tipical usage, I can't find big problems in this tool. It really does it job and it does it well. Maybe it lacks a way to customize the GUI and to organize the view for personal needs, not just the ability to change the CSS.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you are looking for a minimal DBMS with interesting features, just go for Adminer.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I'm using it to maintain a big database for a mobile application. I never felt the need of a bigger DBMS like PHPMyAdmin... Adminer has everything I need!

Good PostgreSQL admin tool, but missing some features

What do you like best?

I like that it's a self-hosted, web-based administration tool for PostgreSQL (and other databases, though I've only used it for PG). Encoding parameters in the URL means you can refresh the page. Best of all, it's in active development and hasn't been abandoned yet.

What do you dislike?

Some features that seem like they should be obvious are missing. For instance, I cannot TRUNCATE a table through the web interface, nor is there an option for CASCADEing. For these cases, I can write a manual SQL query, but seems like a simple button would suffice. I've also noticed that my search_path isn't set correctly when executing SQL queries. If I want the search_path to be set, I have to add "SET search_path TO my,search, path;" at the top of every SQL query.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Administrating local and remote PostgreSQL databases.

Adminer DB tool to replace phpMyAdmin

What do you like best?

In Adminer I like simplicity and clear user interface. Also great thing in Adminer that it is just a simple php-script that you could upload to your server do what you need and remove to for security reasons.

What do you dislike?

Can't say that I dislike something, but there is a way to improve Adminer. For example, Make custom query to DB and have all usuall ability to check multiple records to modify or delete. Also want the ability to move columns to get a better view of my data.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Don't think. Just give it a try and you will never return to your previous tool. Adminer is not an option.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

First is security. I don't need to install phpMyAdmin and pray that no one will hack it.

Second is speed brought by simplicity.

Small (single file), faster, amazing

What do you like best?

Small size ( it's really small!), single file. All functions, needed to me.

It's great, that i should not setup any soft on server, configure web server (apache. nginx, etc ). If you don't have any right for doing this things - adminer helps.

Simple interface - it's great.

What do you dislike?

Some times it's not easy to understand how make some actions.

Some times, i think, thats it would be great to see more colourfull or WEB2.0 interfaces.

Recommendations to others considering the product

may be some erd diagram?

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

DB Administration.

In one project i haven't got any access to db : console/open ports or phpmyadmin. And i just copy adminer on server and run it. It fix small bugs, which makes a lot of bad thinks and company lose moneys.
