Build sophisticated, relevant and timely Customer Journeys

What do you like best?

If you can dream it, you can execute it. I love that you can basically achieve anything with these tools. There is no lack of features from the tool set. There also many ways of achieving a desired result. Scalability is also something else I love. This product can support all of our campaigns with the ability to scale and grow with our ever-changing and demanding needs.

What do you dislike?

The lack of error reporting. Visibility into stalled or failed campaigns is not ideal. We have over 150 automated campaigns we run daily and can't look into each one on a daily basis. We have come up with customized work-arouds to help us but wish the product itself could handle this better out of the box.

Recommendations to others considering the product

The perfect user profile will have a blend of technical skills in addition to marketing skills. Experience with Javascript, XML, HTML, CSS and SQL will help quite a bit when using the product.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

Real time access to our data and a scalable solution to add new data when applicable. We also needed to centralize our marketing and transactional messaging into one platform so we can leverage the data for both channels. Lastly we needed sophisticated tools that could support personalization, dynamic content, automation with an aggressive testing platform. We've achieved all this & more with Adobe Campaign. We have successfully built over 150 highly targeted & relevant campaigns based on using behavioral data which has increased engagement metrics and ROI.

Good, but not great

What do you like best?

I love the flexibility in being able to go beyond what Campaign is designed for - it's not as restrictive as other platforms.

The support is decent and responsive.

Data hygiene capabilities in Adobe Campaign is better than any other tool out there.

What do you dislike?

Steep learning curve for new hires - making it difficult to hire people with Adobe Campaign (Neolane) experience.

Adobe doesn't appear to be providing any beneficial training to its users - unless you pay the $$. Many companies out there have a series of 'how tos' or 'up and running with' webinars/videos etc.

There is no user community - in fact, there isn't a user community.

You need a full-time, Adobe Campaign devoted systems specialist to get the more advanced capabilities out of Adobe Campaign.

For huge data sets, queries can take a long time.

Email rendering isn't out of the box functionality.

A lot of capabilities in the product are add-ons.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If Adobe Campaign is headed in the right direction, they're not doing it a quick enough pace. I've been with the product for 6 years and haven't seen any major improvements that could be classified as a game-changer - even after Adobe purchased Neolane.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

We designed and developed a two dimensional lead scoring system in Adobe Campaign a few years back when the product, as we were told, wasn't capable of doing so - yet we managed to get it to work. The payoff was huge.

One of the best marketing automation tool out there!

What do you like best?

A fantastic marketing automation tool that will help you to personalize and deliver campaigns across all of your online and offline channels. Excellent features! That includes advanced email delivery and tracking capabilities. This tool also includes a set of functions that will greatly help you to simplify, manage and automate your campaigns and workflows easily.

What do you dislike?

Extremely steep learning curve. Got to go through chuck of videos to unlock the tool's potential. It is important to have some form of technical knowledge of the product to implement, support and maintain. Great tool but takes time to learn!

Recommendations to others considering the product

Great tool! but you need to allocate time and resources to learn how to unlock the tool's full potential and that might take a long time and costly.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

I was looking to build consumer life cycle marking and this tool was a great help

easy and effective

What do you like best?

You can do so many incredible things with this-- the options are limitless. It provides a lot of flexibility for the user or administrator, giving you a lot of room to do whatever it is you need to meet your campaign needs. A great marketing automation tool for any user. The SEO analytics are priceless. The social engagement tools are also incredible.

What do you dislike?

As with some other adobe products, it can be hard to use and the interface can be confusing for new users. There needs to be some sort of very simple five minute introductory video that each new user can watch before jumping in.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Do tutorials so that you can learn all the unending qualities of Adobe Campaign before jumping right in.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

Used for database growth and email personalization.

It's not if you can do it, it's how

What do you like best?

The reason we selected Adobe Campaign was mainly for the ability to build a more advanced relational database back end then our former solution allowed. When faced with a business problem, I like to say it's not if we can do it in Adobe Campaign, it's how. If you have the right skill set, Adobe Campaign is full of functionality.

What do you dislike?

If our organization didn't have a consulting group, we wouldn't be able to perform a lot of the functionality on our own. It is not as intuitive as other marketing products and not as user-friendly to non-technical users.

Recommendations to others considering the product

When evaluating, test specific use cases to make sure you are fully able to perform them with ease in Adobe Campaign.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

We do a lot of email personalization and complex workflows to perform transactional email confirmations and database growth initiatives. We use PURL sites on an annual basis to renew customers.
