"Track the Terms you Want to Track"

What do you like best?

This platform is great for tracking exactly what you want without all the bells and whistles you don't want. It's very easy to use and you can point and click to exactly what you are looking for. You can see KWs that you want to track along with ones that are working for your domain that you might want to track.

What do you dislike?

I don't like how the reports are actually reports everytime that you want to see just a bit of info. Basically, it creates a report too many times when I just want to download info about 5 terms.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Definitely worth the price and something that, once configured, will give you historical ranking data that is invaluable. It's extremely helpful to know where you were and where you are when a there's a Google algo update as well.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We realized areas we are performing excellently in and areas of opportunity. There were many terms that we were spending a ton on ads that we didn't need to be spending on because we were doing fine organically. This was helpful in building out content and even helping out blog content and topics.

"Great Software That Evolves Over Time"

What do you like best?

The interface is really amazing. Setting up a new project or editing an existing project is fast and easy. Over the last few years the platform has been adding more tools such as local search engines, a site crawl feature, social reporting and even Google algorithm changes.

What do you dislike?

More control over what I can export would be a welcome addition. More advanced export tools that would allow me to pivot data would be great - like exporting a set of keywords and tying multiple locations to the keyword set in one export.

Recommendations to others considering the product

AWR has great features and fast support response times - definitely worth a try.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I work for a marketing agency and having bulk ranking data I can use to drive on-page optimization is amazing. If I need an update I can perform a quick update and receive results within an hour. After launching a new site this level of reporting is invaluable.

"Great Value for a Robust Ranking Tool"

What do you like best?

If you just want to track historical search rankings for your site, this is the tool for you. AWR's pricing is extremely competitive compared to some of the other SEO platforms out there. My favourite feature is that it stores a cached copy of the SERP so that you can check back and see exactly what the search results looked like at a particular point in time. Tracking is enabled for both desktop and mobile and can be tailored to specific locations. There is also some functionality for backlinks, auditing, and social.

What do you dislike?

Exporting and filtering functionality could be improved; not always an intuitive interface or process.

Recommendations to others considering the product

This is a great tool that is reasonably comprehensive for tracking your organic search rankings over time. The price is really its competitive advantage!

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Tracking organic search rankings over time in order to improve online visibility, discoverability, and traffic generation. Very useful for SEO reporting.

"Works pretty wel."

What do you like best?

All my data is in one place. The connection with search console and keyword planner.

What do you dislike?

Updating rankings in google always takes time for any solution one may choose. But for AWR it takes up to 24 hours. Which is REALLY annoying if you are doing keyword research and just want to get on with it.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you want to actively do keyword research and keep momentum it is not a perfect solution. After adding keywords you will need to wait up to 24 hours before it is updated.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Check rankings and keep track of positions.

"The Power of Massive Data Scraping is Upon Us (Desktop Version)"

What do you like best?

(This review is for the desktop version of AWR)

Advanced Web Ranking combines the most important things for gathering SERP data into one program: High-quality scraping, proxy rotation, and analytics integration, along with speed. We use AWR to quickly assess our rankings across a massive set of keywords, perform competitive analysis across new markets, and gather contact websites for outreach in a snap.

AWR is the best platform I've tested for SERP scraping, and consistently gives accurate, geo-diverse results. Its custom reports functionality is exceedingly useful in identifying competitors, assessing current positions, and finding link prospects. One of my favorite applications for AWR is setting keywords to a list of cities in a locale with states, and putting search depth to 1. This grabs about 85% of the municipal government websites for those cities, which are awesome link targets for utilities and safety linkbuilding.

What do you dislike?

(This review is for the desktop version of AWR)

AWR's faults lie in its accessibility (though with some getting used to, those problems are quickly solved). Setting up things like proxy rotation and SMTP settings isn't very easy to do, and messing up those settings can lead to hours of lost time.

The interface is not very intuitive: While a project is updating, it appears that you can't access the information from any other of your saved projects (this may be possible, but I haven't found how to yet). It definitely takes a tutorial or walkthough to establish a workflow in AWR.

One last annoyance is that the program will buckle under pressure when faced with very large scarping projects (20K keywords, depth of 50, for example). This isn't entirely unexpected, but the option to split projects up when they reach that size, rather than finding out they failed 50% through, would be appreciated.

Despite these faults, AWR is easily the best platform we've ever used for gathering SERP data, and once you get over the learning curve, is pretty easy to use and customize.

Recommendations to others considering the product

AWR has a very good trial version, that's worth downloading for evaluation. I would highly recommend the desktop version over the web, since it's a 1-time purchase, will run extremely fast on a well-powered machine, and has (in my opinion) a higher degree of customizability.

When evaluating the capabilities of AWR, make sure to think outside the box. Using these tools, there's a lot more you can do than just gather competitors and keyword data.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

(This review is for the desktop version of AWR)

Buzzstream solves our issue of gathering keyword data quickly and accurately. While there are many platforms that provide this kind of data, no other both runs locally, rotates proxies for accurate data, and can gather nearly this depth of data on keywords and competitors. What we've discovered is that the amount of data AWR affords us is really powerful. It's a staple of our SEO process.

"Research, upload, application failure"

What do you like best?

AWR gives us a comprehensive look at the entirety of our keyword bucket markets. AWR helps us quickly gauge newcomers in the space & helps us target the success of their strategies.

What do you dislike?

It may be the sizable research that I'm performing, but AWR freezes during project updates or causes my PC to crash a lot. It can be extremely frustrating when pulling reports that take 2-3 days that may crash halfway through.

Also, this is a fairly heavy tool. While I normally don't complain about extra features, there are plenty of AWR features that I never touch.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I use AWR for Top Sites competitive research, market clickshare ratios for predetermined keyword buckets and data collection for forecasting.

"Advanced Web Ranking helps you grow your business"

What do you like best?

Advanced Web Ranking has an easy to use interface and the results are reliable, providing accurate ranking results. It also delivers localized accurate rankings. It provides multiple options to share SEO progress. The support is first rate. Help is not far away, very responsive. I have not fully explored it on a mobile device but from what I have seen so far, I should be happy.

What do you dislike?

To be honest, there is not anything I can specifically point to.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Dedicate time, resources, energy to the set up / onboarding / learning process.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are trying to optimize our use of resources and the overall costs to get rankings. We can fresh data, on demand, and we easily gather our rankings automatically.

"Advanced Web Ranking Review"

What do you like best?

Unlimited keyword capacity, speed of processing large quantities of data (when supported with proxy servers) without triggering flags or bans by the Search Engines.

What do you dislike?

Occasional inconsistent SERP data returned (as compared with manual verification) , occasional missing data or query failure (especially with Bing/Yahoo, with a caveat: AWR Support leads have identified problems with those engines, and is working with them to solve.)

Recommendations to others considering the product

It is a great tool for Enterprise SEO. The cost of the software license is not unreasonable at all, so it is accessible to individual users. There will be a higher ongoing cost associated with clean, reliable proxy IPs which are a requirement for any level of scaled production at the agency level (hundreds of dollars per month depending on provider.) This is well worth the investment, because the combination of AWR with a set of 50 to 100 good proxy IPs effectively removes upper limits on keywords, domains, search engines, that other solutions impose. On the other hand, if your not an agency with high volume and large projects, hosted solutions might be more straightforward (or the Cloud version of AWR for that matter.)

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

This is a scalable ranking solution that allows our team to process large rank reports for enterprise clients within timeframes unattainable with any of the other solutions on the market we have tested. Likely the only comparable solution would involve a custom coded tool, and with that scenario, keeping up with every major and minor Search Engine (accross regions, countries, locales) as AWR does on an ongoing basis, would be cost prohibitive.

"Comprehensive but clunky to use"

What do you like best?

The tool does offer an in-depth report on rankings and it probably one the most accurate tools with a difficult task.

What do you dislike?

The UI is dated and not intuitive. It's expensive and slow - sometimes I had to leave it running overnight. These days, I prefer using Google Webmaster tools and manual checking. There are other tools that are much easier to use and you can get similar results. The SERP paradigm is changing and so I think a tool like these needs to be more agile to keep up with the nuances of ranking.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I used it with a previous company but do not use it now.

"Insights GALORE."

What do you like best?

How very straight-foward & customizable AWR is. I also like how intuitive it is regarding competitors & the competitive analysis reports AWR generates.

What do you dislike?

I am a MAC user, and I'v heard that the program runs better on PC. The window sizing is also a bit funky on mac, but still very minor given the valuable insights it provides.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure to really explore all the features during your free trial. There are many things people tend to underutilize in this program in favor of programs that seem more user friendly like Moz. AWR is for data and content minded marketers.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Low rankings in search engines, HTML issues.
