"ODBC Access and Advanced Insight are great tools"

What do you like best?

The ODBC connection is absolutely awesome. I can use T-SQL to create reports that most PM system reporting features can't come close to. Advanced Insight (built-in BI tool) is pretty nice itself, but it can't compare to the ODBC.

What do you dislike?

It is INSANE that a client can't "lock down" payment "deposit dates". The practice management (billing) software I've used in the past allowed you to balance the day's activity to your bank account THEN lock those "deposit dates" down. Unfortunately, AdvancedMD allows users to change the deposit date at any point during the life of a payment. This makes bank reconciliation a nightmare.

Definitely purchase the ODBC access.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Their great access to the data makes reporting VERY simple. Even if their built-in BI tool (Advanced Insight) doesn't allow access to specific data intersections, I can usually figure things out using MS SQL. Their lead intraoperations resource (Chris Schell) is insanely knowledgeable - he's been a HUGE help with regards to integrating with our BI tool and general ad hoc reporting.

"The Best for medical billing"

What do you like best?

This software is web-based, so you don't have to pay maintenance or hardware fees. Everything you need is included and in one place. It has improved the billing process by 200%.

What do you dislike?

Learning the software is very difficult and time-consuming, and can be confusing at times. I would appreciate an improved training section of the software to make this easier.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Take the time to properly learn and understand the software. Once you know what you're doing, this software will save you time and make your life much easier.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I am solving billing issues. While the initial setup and learning are time-consuming, once you get the hang of it, this software really streamlines the billing process and saves time down the road. By spending less time on billing, I can focus on other tasks in the same amount of time as billing used to take.

"Billing 101"

What do you like best?

The program is extremely detailed down to the filters. There are several ways to manuever around rhe program some easier than others. I love the extras like claim lookup options and how the claim and insurance is in real time.

What do you dislike?

It is in some cases TOO DETAILED and technical. Unless you adjust the program to exactly what i want to see every claim that does not meet rhe criteria preset will kick back. Also ro many options for looking up patients and does not migrate updates from EMR TO ADVANCED MD *in real-time.

Have enough computer experience to set up the filters and your good to go

"AdvancedMD Medical Billing Review"

What do you like best?

One of the best features so far from Advanced MD is the customer service. You may sometimes need to wait for a call back from support to solve an issue, but normally this is not long, and the solution is quick to solve the problem.

What do you dislike?

A confusing aspect when we implemented the program with the different tiered level packages for the software packages. You need to make sure you have good communication with your sales representative to make sure that the package level you will be receiving gives you the access that you will be needing.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It would be nice to clean up the tiered software packaging. It can be somewhat confusing if you do not have a detailed and thorough sales representative walking you through the purchasing and implementation process.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The software and billing processes provide amazing customization which support faster payments and cleaner claims being sent out for processing. Also, we have not found any issues with the reporting capabilities.

"Need improvement all around"

What do you like best?

I like the recent spring 2017 update that they have implemented in their interface. It has brought checking in patients as well as tracking billing statements easy to see. I like how there is now a pop up for co-pays at the first hover over each patient.

What do you dislike?

There is too many times where the servers have crashed and customer service response has been giving us the wall. Also when we have to manually fix the errors which can easily be created with some changes are frustrating. There are also recurring errors that delete progress which is quite unacceptable. Lag time is close to dial up.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Consider other option before approaching this software. The customer service is as slow as their system.

Unfortunately I have not had the most pleasant experience with this software. There are benefits with the new update that was implemented spring 2017 and it was fantastic with patient recalls and showing patient just by hovering over the selected patient.

"AdvancedMD provides all the features and support a medical billing service needs."

What do you like best?

There's a lot I like - and the best is the CBO function that allows me, from one login, to view all of clients at once - I can easily and effortlessly run roll-up reports. The dashboard shows the overall results of my business and I can easily click down to see individual clients. This makes the overall management of our growing firm (over 50 practices nationally) very straightforward.

What do you dislike?

Frankly, there isn't much that I dislike. I think the biggest issue we've encountered is that we often times seem to know more about how the system works as it pertains to medical billing than the support team at AdvancedMD.

Recommendations to others considering the product

yes - i would definitely recommend this package. it is a solid company, being owned by ADP. The team is strong, and they are continually looking for ways to improve the product and have it be a more powerful tool for the user community. As a billing service, it has been fantastic.

Reporting, reporting, reporting - we need to get cogent data quickly both for internal management and for managing our clients productivity. The strength of the ad-hoc reporting tool AdvancedMD has recently rolled out has made that really strong.

What do you like best?

It is a true browser-based cloud application so it can be reliably accessed anywhere that has internet access. It is easy to use for our billers who are currently managing the billing and receivables management for over 50 Ophthalmology practices. But perhaps the best feature for me is the robust reporting capabilities, both standard reports and the custom reporting package.

What do you dislike?

Nothing that I can pinpoint. It is reliable and economical.

Get references for similar practices and visit those reference practices to observe the system being used (same recommendation for evaluating any practice management software)

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

As an outsourced billing service, the cloud access is key, as it allows both our staff and our clients to utilize the system in a way that is cost-effective for us and supports our business model. Implementing new client practices is fairly seamless, and our clients find the system easy to learn and use for the pieces of the business process for which they are responsible (patient registration and scheduling). The system is tightly integrated with the claims clearinghouse (Relay Health), allowing for efficient payment-posting and access to EOBs.

"Good experience with AMD"

What do you like best?

I am able to see a patient, complete my note, create a charge sheet, and submit it to the "billing" side (PM) all in one setting. At the end of the day I am able to review all the charges that were previously submitted to the PM side and take corrective actions that were recommended by the PM side. The bills are then submitted to the insurance carrier knowing that I have done the billing correctly.

What do you dislike?

It is difficult for a beginner to understand navigating through different windows in the PM. It is not as intuitive.

Easily ties to the EHR

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It has shaved off alot of fat from the practice. It does the PQRS effectively. MU2 has been a challenge but we have met the requirement.

"Love the PM/Billing side"

What do you like best?

The ease of use in the system. Pressing F1 on any screen to get help or to learn how to do/use

What do you dislike?

The updates without notice. Having to pay a fee for every little thing. Some reports or things that should be free, isn't, and is very pricey.

Best billing software! Very easy to use and learn!!!

Receiving electronic payments and remittances quickly without having to wait for mail from the provider to post or correct.

"AdvancedMD Software "

What do you like best?

It is a very user friendly software from the front office to the billing. AdvancedMD is always reviewing feedback and continually releasing upgrades to the system on a regular basis.

What do you dislike?

There really isn't much to dislike. I do wish they had better audit reporting on the admin level privileges when it come to master files.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Since its a cloud based system the low cost and ease of access is wonderful and the reporting features are outstanding, We are able to drill done and get finite reporting which allows us to manage productivity in a masterful way.

"AdvancedMD for medical billers"

What do you like best?

I liked that it was 1 system that you could input charges and bill from. It scrubbed your claims, and you knew from the same system if you had any errors that needed to be fixed.

What do you dislike?

Not much to dislike, sometimes if i went back into a claim it would automatically send out a duplicate.
