"AlertOps, for when the rest just don't cut it!"

What do you like best?

AlertOps its the best solution when you compare cost and features, they are willing to work with your specific needs to tailor their product to you. If you need something new, they will listen and add it to their roadmap.

What do you dislike?

You need someone to be able to dedicate time into the product to really understand all of the ins and outs. this isn't really a negative because ultimately it is because of all the customization that can be created with each portion. Other products may be more intuitive out of the box but down the road when you want to customize it, it won't be an option. AlertOps has that initially, you just need someone to dedicate a large portion of time to it up front.

It is well worth the learning curve when comparing features and price point.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

we are able to generate multiple integrations that have a different channel to alarm. The benefits are cost effectiveness and being able to pass the alarm on to our clients if necessary is a great option that can be assessed on a case by case basis instead of having to build different alarms based on who needs them the first time it fires.

"Alerting made easy"

What do you like best?

Product is great. It allows for multiple types of configuration and escalation based on rules. The ability to only alert managers if the person on call misses a page is great. Saves from all the constant clutter and noise of multiple alerts when it's not needed.

What do you dislike?

Their interface is a little difficult to learn. I suggest getting training from them on how different configurations function. Other than that, once you know where the rules are and how to configure them it's great. Easy to make updates and check in on the types of alerts once you know how to navigate through the system.

Make sure all your business rules are configured prior to trying to set this up to help keep things simple.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The ability to notify on call personnel when there is a system issue or problem. Escalating when needed based on set business rules. When it was first configured in our environment it was a steep learning curve for our administrators and users.

"Cost effective option that works!"

What do you like best?

Alertops is a great product overall and once set up you rarely need to tinker with it because it just works. Its a very stable and reliable product and the cost is much better than the competitors.

What do you dislike?

It can be a little difficult to use but the support docs help and also the support email is very responsive and helpful so these issues are often easy to navigate around.

If there are any problems or questions contact support as the support is really helpful.

We are now able to have a regular rotating on call roster for our development team. The team are now better organized and have better notifications around there on call status. They're also able to see ahead of time when they are on call and plan for this.

"Alert Ops gets the job done"

What do you like best?

Staff was helpful and made sure I had the setup I needed.

What do you dislike?

Would like to see an unpaid billing account option. That way our office manager could have an account that permits managing billing and users but would not be on the notify list.

EDIT: AlertOps staff reached out to let me know this was available. Upgrading recommendation to a 10!

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

In order to meet SLA's we have to provide adequate response times and incident management. We use AlertOps to provide our customers with support so that we can always be reached.

"Great system, simple and reliable so far."

What do you like best?

It's easy to configure and maintain, and it looks reliable.

What do you dislike?

maybe a bit expensive for the small office that we are, the limitations on the basic plan are tight, but the extra money for the features isn't work it for us, so we have to play with the service to get what we need.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Simple, easy to deploy, easy to use. Lack of acknowledge with Nagios, but I did not search that much to see how feasible it was.

"Out of Band Notifications with AlertOps"

What do you like best?

I like the ability to have multiple workflows, schedules and various integrations for out of band notifications, ensures we have an option for any situation.

What do you dislike?

The only option we wish was included was the ability to send tones thru notifications

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

When our primary toolset is down or we have a critical service that we want to ensure notifications are always sent AlertOps help bridge that gap.

"Alertops has been a huge help with our operations teams"

What do you like best?

It is easy to use and helps organize our on call teams

What do you dislike?

So far everything has been working the way that we expect and AlerOps support has been tremendous. So there is nothing we dislike as of now.

We have been able to eliminate on person awake during our batch hours which has been a cost savings for us.

"NEVER FAILS"

What do you like best?

I am very happy that I can make an on-call schedule month ahead of time.

What do you dislike?

I dislike that I cannot personalize the voice over when the on-call doesn't answer.

Having an on-call schedule live 24/7, directing the calls to the right person every time and receiving alerts when the on-call doesn't answer. We are a team of professionals. We are part of the emergency response team at our Local Emergency Department, and we cannot miss any calls.

"Alert Ops Great Product for Oncall IT Support Staff"

What do you like best?

Very easy to set up with our environment.

What do you dislike?

Some setting can be hard to understand. But support was helpful to figure it out.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you weigh the cost for a on prem software. In the end this will save you money.

at some point that on prem software will cost you more each year. Where this one the cost says pretty much the same each year.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Needed something that would support all devices. that was a problem with the older software.

And the price on this software cost less per a year.

"Excellent Incident Management Tool"

What do you like best?

Ease of setup and integration with multiple communication channels like Slack, SMS, and VOIP.

What do you dislike?

Scheduling is not very intuitive. Would be helpful to have a more visual scheduling tool.

Excellent option for incident management.

Instant communication to all team members for critical incidents. Response times for incidents have been cut by at least 50%.

"Great alerting/escalation service"

What do you like best?

The pricing for a small team is much better than some of the larger escalation services out there.

What do you dislike?

The mobile app doesn't allow custom notification/ringers

We are helping engage the correct on-call person/s, and reducing the need for a tier1 team to perform this escalation.
