"AthenaHealth makes it easy to communicate with patients"

What do you like best?

I like that patients are able to sign up for access to their portal where they are able to see summaries and reminders of what happened in their encounters in case they have forgotten, and are able to contact physicians with quick questions

What do you dislike?

I have yet to have any negatives with this system.

"AthenaHealth efficiency"

What do you like best?

The emr has anticipatory prompts while using making charting easier.

What do you dislike?

No fee schedule entered in the system.

Must be somewhat familiar with medical billing and if not it will be difficult to submit claims properly. They sell that you need less office staff with their system but that is a strong claim that I feel is not true.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Must be familiar with medical billing to use. Otherwise trial and error

Saves some time. Built in forms for patient education.

"Involved EMR"

What do you like best?

The many avenues and options to make custom for one's medical practice.

What do you dislike?

Can become too complexed at times, reports galore. This might be okay for others but not for us. We are a small private practice where it appears Athena is more geared towards larger groups and or hospitals.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Preview the software before signing, this was a request we had to make and wait for management to approve. You must test the system out before you can really feel comfortable in your decision.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are no longer in subscription with Athena. We did obtain more billing and coding knowledge from Athena's billing software.

"Good EHR for PT"

What do you like best?

Easy to use and navigate from checking in patients to documenting visits and everything in between.

What do you dislike?

Doesn’t have an app for use on a mobile device.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our whole company uses Athena so it is easy to see patient records no matter the office you are at. It is also somewhat easy to communicate with physicians of patients when needed, which is beneficial.

What do you like best?

The ease for people of all ages to be able to use and better access this program.

What do you dislike?

There were a lot of buttons to push to be able to get to where you needed to be, despite the ease of use. It can cause some confusion leading up.

Don't allow the things that seem difficult with it to hold you back from being able to better utilize everything the program has to offer.

I've noticed the ability to better keep track of the various things we needed to keep track of.

"Athena Collector"

What do you like best?

Athena collector is a good way to manage copays for patients. Billing through Athena is super end user friendly. It only takes a few clicks to collect a payment from a patient.

What do you dislike?

There are times when Athena collector does not communicate with the external credit card reader and scanner. This makes it difficult to scan in patient information and charge payments.

Athena communicates with electronic health record so they the information is interfaces between applications.

"Good but needs improvement "

What do you like best?

Easy templates to work with. User friendly, very easy to use

What do you dislike?

Input is not always fast. It gets frozen

Now we use only 1 medical records software and not the two we used to. This one does it all

"Mixed Review..."

What do you like best?

System has preloaded templates that make things a little less complicated and faster. Claims are processed automatically which helps turn around time as well.

What do you dislike?

Some of the automated claims processing features don't seem to always apply things to the appropriate DOS, which leads to even more confusion.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Patients are automatically marked as inactive if they are in collections, which they cannot be seen until arrangements are made. This cuts down on more loss of revenue.

"Many features, but difficult to navigate without training"

What do you like best?

Everything on one page, very clean and organized, fax dashboard connects the entire office and improves networking.

What do you dislike?

There are so many features, it can be difficult to navigate tiny nuances within certain features i.e incoming faxes can be difficult to sort and label.

Athena has streamlined our entire office from dictation to pathology to billing and patient contact. I cannot submit a scrrenshot per HIPPA.

What do you like best?

I love that the navigation of the system is very easy to use.

What do you dislike?

I dislike that you cannot have more than one account up at a time. Also that you have to come out of a lot of pages to see information from another causing you to have to start over

"Aethna collector a good practice management software"

What do you like best?

aethna health is a very user friends and easy to implement api almost for all requirement.

What do you dislike?

not as such. It is very good but for few requiremnt it does not provide api.

"Took some getting use to but...."

What do you like best?

I like that fact that you can fax through Athena and it can sort patients paperwork just using their names. It’s great.

The customer service to fix issues having with Athena could be better.
