Very good technical support (direct chat within working hours) and always on-time payment.
There are some things we would like Avangate to work on (see "dislike"), but generally we are happy with Avangate and would recommend everybody looking for a payment solution to at least give Avangate a try as well - it just works. :-)
Quite expensive: Beside 8 % base fee additional fees for most local payment options and very high chargeback fees and deposits. So basically everything costs extra, e. g. also 500 USD one-time if you want the shop page on an own sub domain.
Especially in a long-term partnership I would sometimes expect a bit more "personal cooperation" than strict automated fees and deposit. For example, if you see the shop makes much more revenue every month than all chargebacks summed up till now, why a deposit is needed? It's not a problem at the end, but it would show some confidence in a partnership.
From a shop end-user perspective:
Avangate does provide also end-user phone support which is great, but unfortunately only with a US and Rumania phone number: Here especially for the Europe market some additional local (redirected) phone numbers would be good. E. g. our German customers are often afraid to call a Rumania number.
Nobody should get wrong that here in “dislike” much more is written than above:
We are generally happy with Avangate and perhaps also just “too small” till now for a more personal and flexible partnership, but sometimes I would just expect more partnership than very strict and automated processes/fees.
