"Azure MFA test for employee and customers"

What do you like best?

We tried to use Azure MFA on our Azure AD and Azure AD B2C tenant.

It's easy to set up, just need to check the MFA option on your login policy. Then you need to get cell phone numbers on each user profile.

What do you dislike?

There is no way to combine some users with MFA and some users with a standard authentification (We don't have all customer mobile phone).

Sometimes the Azure Portal is not responding well : the website is slow and some tasks failed.

Azure is providing some customisation on their login page but some text or fields cannot be changed.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Azure Authent is easy to implement and configure, the standard version is free if you have a small volume of users and login.

But there is several limitations.

Be careful when implementing this product : we don't find a way to mix MFA and single factor authentification

Azure premium subscribtion is needed if you want to get automatic suspicious connexions alert and if you want more than 7 days of login history.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We hope to add more security on our authentification, to prevent unauthorized access, fishing, piracy.

We actually not activate MFA for customers for the moment but we hope to do this in the next month.

Multifactor helps customer to renew their forgotten password as a self service. With a single authentification process, we dont able users to reset their password by their own.

"Azure MFA Works Great"

What do you like best?

It works great and with other apps not including microsoft such are authy or google's authenticator.

Microsoft has their own authenticator too which is pretty nice. It's really fast and easy to use for the most part.

What do you dislike?

MFA is just cumbersome wish it was easier like google's one touch.

I wish it were easier to set up for end users since there are a couple of steps to set up and sometimes users are not very savvy.

Recommendations to others considering the product

included for free with office365 -- use it!

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are solving security holes in our login process.

We have realized that just a user and password is not secure now a days and you need multiple lines of security. We also use a VPN option that we are able to integrate with this all-in-one solution. It is very nice to use just one application for all.

What Multi-Factor Authentication solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"A pretty solid feature in Azure that makes its security top-tier in terms of cloud hosting"

What do you like best?

I like the fact that hooking up the two factor authentication is really quick and that you can add your alternate email or even phone number in a few simple steps.

What do you dislike?

I dislike that there isn't an option yet to add an alternative email as another layer of security, since this should be a fundamental tier of authentication.

Recommendations to others considering the product

This is recommended for web app developers who wish to have a fairly reliable cloud hosting service. However, AWS may be more suitable for ones who are familiar with that stack.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I am building a photo sharing website and currently developing a mobile app for photo sharing as well. Am experimenting with Azure for cloud hosting and deploying my web application.

"The only MFA Solution we even considered after reviewing our options."

What do you like best?

Microsoft offers one of the most reliable and cost effective MFA solutions we could find. You have the ability to choose txt message, phone call or smart phone app for approving log ins. There is even an included self service portal for users to modify their own options.

Payment options are nice, you can buy blocks of users or Pay-as-You-Go based on the number of active users that month.

What do you dislike?

The initial deployment was confusing, the documentation was difficult to find and dispersed across several sites. We didn't receive much support during the deployment.

Recommendations to others considering the product

We could not find another solution that met our needs. It was surprising how few companies offered anything but a cloud hosted txt message only MFA solution.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Using the Azure MFA we are able to properly lock down our user's VPN connection. We have even implemented it on admin authentications to our security appliances.

"Must have for any Azure products"

What do you like best?

MFA is much better than 2FA since you have several different options of verification. Easy to implement and fairly user friendly.

What do you dislike?

None, the product works as well as it can with little to no administration.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Security problems are now much more rare with unauthorized account access.

"The Multi-Factor app is better than receiving call/text for 2 factor codes"

What do you like best?

The service is very reliable, and the multi-factor app with push notifications makes the login process so much smoother. The app also accepts fingerprints instead of a numeric code (touch id on iPhone, fingerprints on Android), so that your 2 factor request is approved at the touch of your thumb. No punching numbers anymore!

What do you dislike?

You have to open the app manually if the push notification disappears. There can be better integration with the mobile products, like opening the app automatically if the notification appears.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Do it. It's the best in the industry for 2-factor auth.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Better security for all of your company login websites. This has made internal resources very secure, even if a user's password is compromised, a login cannot be forged without 2-factor.

"Azure Multi-factor Authentication Service is fast to deploy and inexpensive for limited deployment"

What do you like best?

Simple, fast deployment. In my case I was able to install on two servers for redundancy, import desired users from AD, and point my VPN servers at it. The built-in radius server works fine. I've used it for a couple of years now and it's been a reliable service.

Pricing is great for a small number of users.

Phone based authentication adds about 20 seconds to login time, but for occasional remote access that hasn't been a problem. Our users typically login remotely no more than once per day, and they've had no complaints about the additional login step.

What do you dislike?

For a large number of users it's probably better to find a solution with a cheaper price per-user. Users needing to login many times per day can be annoyed by the requirement to interact with this service every time they login. For example, using SMS authentication requires that you copy the unique key you received into a response SMS message. If your phone requires a PIN to reply you will first have to enter that, followed by the response message. It's fine for occasional use, but a worker needing to authenticate multiple times a day may become annoyed. In that case it would make more sense to use certs or something else that identifies them without requiring their participation. But for our use, a handful of users needing remote access it's been a real timesaver.

Recommendations to others considering the product

This has been a stable solution for us. Within our limited use case it's been a great success. If the TCO is favorable I would recommend using Microsoft Azure for multi-factor authentication.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Multi-factor authentication for remote access services. For our limited number of users we have received the additional security of multi-factor authentication with a minimal amount of hassle and very little cost.

"MFA User"

What do you like best?

Easy to use, generally works well. We have it implemented across many applications within our company.

What do you dislike?

Requires a decent cell phone reception, which is not always available. I work in a basement and sometimes have to step outside to receive the necessary code. But if you don't input the code within a certain amount of time, you have to receive a new code.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Security is paramount for our company as we deal with confidential and client information. Being also to enhance our security

"Jump in!"

What do you like best?

The ability to easily control the verification processes for people accessing confidential information. The ability to access all types of phones (land lines, cellular, google).

What do you dislike?

No integration for video services like Skype.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Jump in. Does everything the average to above average user would need to with, with ease.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Quick and easy for other members of our organization to get authorization to view a file and assist a customer.

"Azure MFA with Office 365"

What do you like best?

I like the ability to implement MFA with Office 365. This empowers us to provide a second login to our 365 services using a number of different options such as SMS, phone call or the app. This give us confidence around the security of our data in Office 365

What do you dislike?

the setup of MFA can be challenging depending on the internal setup. THe white listing of IPs help to ensure users on-premise arent prompted for the MFA.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Setup a trial tenant before implementing this in production. This will allow you to test all features in a controlled environment.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are sloving the security issue with accessing our corporate data when away from the office. The MFA provides our security team the reasurance that they need.

"Azure Multi-Factor"

What do you like best?

System is awesome that provides either text message phone call or app. It integrates with our AD to provide authentication for multiple apps

What do you dislike?

Just a wish that I could force AD authentication to use multi factor

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you want something that is simple to use and gets the job done then this is the product for you. It is easy to set up and authenticate. We never have problems of it failing to do its job properly. The largest time spent was training users and getting them to active their mobile phones

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Security audits and applications that require two factor authentication

"With MFA your Cloud Resources are more secure now"

What do you like best?

Multi-Factor Authentication in Office 365 adding additional security layer, that helped us to avoid potential fraud activity. It is easy to use for end users and work in similar way as in other similar services.

What do you dislike?

As I know, there are some difficulties in configuration Multi-Factor Authentication with on premise FS.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It is critically important to provide secure way to access Office 365 resource for end users on their devices. Multi-Factor Authentication is definitely must feature you should add to be on safe side.

"My Microsoft Azure Multi-Factor Authentication "

What do you like best?

I found it very easy to set up and administer. One think I liked was the ease of use when having to deactivate a user.

What do you dislike?

The app tokens were a big pain. We use Skype in our environment and having to create app tokens for Skype and other apps was a nightmare in our environment

Recommendations to others considering the product

Look out for the App tokens, they will look more users our then you realize. Also MFA does not work with cloud power-shell.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We wanted increased security against threats and un-authorized log in attempts

"Saves me from spooky "

What do you like best?

The authentication process on Microsoft Azure takes security to a level most would dream of. If I wasn't using this level of security I would be spooked out of work.

What do you dislike?

What is there to dislike about security? other than the amount of memory it uses, there isn't much to complain about after it's done doing it's job.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It keeps our network safe and secure. Without this authentication we could have multiple breaches a day.
