I love that Beekeeper can easily connect all employees in a business with over 800 staff members. Communication is easy and we are able to reach users who work different shifts at any time. We are able to share photos, promotions and features of the business through this app, as opposed to receiving so many emails. We have recently started to implement the Survey function which we aim to use for Learning and Development and are really excited with the information that Beekeeper can provide for us. We can see that our teams like to use the app too, many employees who wouldn't normally have a "voice" can promote their department and celebrate their achievements. As a Group, we had a regional workshop in which all properties were invited to share photos, stories and celebrations which was delightful to see since we don't always connect with the other properties. Beekeeper gives us a more personal opportunity to connect with our staff and employees which email and phone calls cannot do. Further, it provides a much better control than a social media platform would so it is very ideal for business communication. Lastly, we have been using an "Innovate" steam where colleagues are encouraged to pitch benefiting ideas to Senior Management and they can get rewarded.
1. Learning and Development- We are testing the Survey function to "quiz" employees on their understanding of training topics. This can either be an alternative to classroom training or reinforced after classroom training- which can save a lot of time (and paper) for the Trainers and employees.
2. Employee Recognition- For those employees who may not pass a physical board where we show off photos, we can still publicly recognize them for their contributions or awards received. The feature that other colleagues, department leaders and managers can also "like" and comment to congratulate increases the amount of recognition.
3. Increased knowledge about other departments/team spirit- Through email it is quite difficult to promote a special menu because it's just text. However, with Beekeeper, we are able to show photos as well as text. This creates lots of excitement among the teams as we can visualize it and describe in detail to our customers. Our employees tend to congratulate the other employees when they post these.
4. Innovation- We implemented a reward program for employees to provide ideas that benefit the business, their department, themselves or any other area. The Senior Management reviews the idea and if it can be implemented, the employee will receive an award. We have implemented 2-3 ideas in some aspect already.
