What do you like best?

I like the ability to see trends over time. We do quarterly reports, so BPM allows me to check the timing of the previous report. I manage the work of about 20 people and this tool helps me see at a glance what each of them are currently assigned and working on.

It allows for quick reassignment of tasks as needed.

The flexibility to support a variety of processes for different teams without confusing the user with additional meaningless views cluttering their screens.

It allows us to keep document versions and histories in an open area so we can quickly review changes and find errors that may have been introduced in the editing and approval process.

What do you dislike?

Our current configuration doesn't allow for stepping back in a process. Don't know if that's a function of our particular process or of the tool.

If a task is reassigned, the process doesn't change the name it is assigned to.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Define your process well before putting it in BPM. It's better to set up the process from the start than to try to modify it later.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It helps us keep up with over 500 reports ever quarter. It allows for a smooth process of creation and progress tracking.

It allows us to give estimates on drop dates so those on our team who are waiting for the reports can plan meetings and presentations.

It's also used to track some of our HR and financial processes.

Extremely positive

What do you like best?

Implementation wise we can say that Bizagi is living to our expectations. We decided to go with Bizagi because of its ease of use and fast implementation times and we are extremely happy in that regard.

We’ve been using Bizagi for 10 months now (since August of 2014). We have already deployed 12 business processes and we expect to deploy at least 4 more until the end of July.

As for our users, the great majority is also completely on board, although, as I’m sure all are aware, change isn’t always easy to manage. The major change is, of course, that we now know exactly what’s being done, by who and when.

All in all we are extremely happy with Bizagi and we give it a solid 8 out of 10.

What do you dislike?

From a developer point of view (since I’m the one responsible for all the deployments and also for the maintenance and user help desk), there are some improvements/functionalities that could be implemented in future versions of the BPM Studio that could really help, both from the implementation side and from the usability (work portal) side. This is to be expected, since perfection is unattainable.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The processes deployed are not specific to any one of our departments. Almost all of our departments, from back office and support services (Financial, Human Resources, Payroll), to front office and commercial department are already using Bizagi.

The bigest plus is that now we know that everybody is working in the same way, according to rules defined by all the stakeholders. Accountability is a tremendous tool to have :)

Bizagi Process Modeler : The best way to design and document process

What do you like best?

It is very easy to use and very user friendly. It is possible to define your own properties attributes including pictures, document, table,... then you can publish them in a word document, in a pdf, ... or in html pages.

Simulation mode and presentation mode are also available.

Very impressive totally free application.

You can find many training material on the Bizagi web site.

What do you dislike?

If something is missing in Bizagi Process Modeler, you can post an idea about it on the Bizagi forum and, maybe, in a next release, you will find your idea realized.

Some minor bugs but works pretty well.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I recommand Bizagi Process Modeler to others who want to design, document or make a presentation of business processes.

We have documented a lot of processes used within SAP. It is a very good way to document process without writing long literature. At a glance, you find the information you need, simply having a look on the process diagram.

A fantastic process modeler

What do you like best?

Please note: this review is about the BIzAgi Process Modeler module and not the full BPM Suite.

The application is extremely easy to use and follows the well known Microsoft Office design and look and feel, so immediately feels familiar. It allows you to create BPMN models very quickly and has great help tools such as pop-out help text about the symbols, validation of the diagrams and a spell checker. The properties section allows you to record additional information about each symbol including linking tasks to and artefacts to documents, adding roles and many other attributes. It's also completely free, which is unbelievable given the sheer breadth of what bit does as a process modeler and its professional appearance.

What do you dislike?

Please note: this review is about the BIzAgi Process Modeler module and not the full BPM Suite.

There are a few niggles. It could be easier to adjust the layout of the diagrams when in print preview mode (e.g. to move a symbol so it isn't split across two pages), and if you use the spell checker on an extended desktop you need top make sure you run BizAgi in a small window as the spell check window doesn't come to the front and you can't alt-tab to it! The spell checker doesn't allow you to edit mis-spelt words (you can ignore or use one of the suggestions but sometimes neither option fits). These and a few other issues are really very minor niggles in an otherwise impressive application.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We only use the Process Modeler module because most of our processes are mainly a mix of manual and automated, so we don;t have the need to create automated web services, etc. However the processes are often pretty complex and having a great modelling tool enables us to effectively as-is models and develop to-be improvements. The benefits being improved processes and thus improved customer service.
