"BrightFunnel is a Gamechanger"

What do you like best?

BrightFunnel has given us visibility that we have never had before. Our Demand Gen team is able to see true attribution and ROI on all campaigns and assets (not just the lead generating activities) to help drive decision making on where we invest our Marketing dollars and which campaigns/channels are working vs. which are not. The way that BrightFunnel is set up makes complete sense and fits very nicely into our current tech stack and processes, yet the BrightFunnel team is extremely responsive to small customizations as needed to make the tool work for us. The BrightFunnel team is very knowledgeable, easy to work with, and they have been a true partner to us throughout the implementation process.

What do you dislike?

I can't think of anything we dislike so far. The only challenge (which isn't much of a challenge at all) is that there is so much insightful data in BrightFunnel that I want to ensure our team isn't overwhelmed and can effectively use the tool, but BrightFunnel has helped identify initial use cases & reports for phase 1 of rollout and we will continue to evolve with it as the users get comfortable. BrightFunnel user interface with the dashboards and reports is intuitive so I don't expect it will take long.

Recommendations to others considering the product

First of all, Multi-touch attribution as a function is worth it. We are a mature Marketing organization and are continuously optimizing our existing tech stack & processes, but Multi-touch attribution is a big gamechanger for us. We identified our key requirements (some of ours included: the cost of data in SFDC, API calls, time to onboard, cost, digital tracking, cost/roi data, attribution, flexibility with product customizations, how well the vendor will partner with us), reviewed with our leadership teams, had demos with a lot of vendors, and BrightFunnel was clearly the best fit for us.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are rolling out the tool to Demand Gen, Product Marketing/Vertical Marketing, Corporate Marketing, Sales, Executives, and Customer Success for a variety of use cases to drive decision making and increase our overall ROI on marketing spend:

Marketing Influence data for all campaigns/channels to measure ROI, determine spend, and determine which campaigns to repeat/stop

Identify group of opps with no campaign influence & why

Identify AE initiated opps that were also marketing influenced

True ROI on tradeshows

True ROI on Digital tactics & spend

Marketing Campaign/channel influence by product and sku

We just completed our implementation a couple of weeks ago so we don't have any hard ROI data on using the tool yet, but just the visibility has been huge. BrightFunnel can retroactively pull data so we already have data we can start using from 2016 to hit the ground running.

"Brightfunnel and Salesforce - the perfect match"

What do you like best?

The Brightfunnel team has an exceptional understanding of marketing attribution concepts. They combine this with a very deep level of experience with Salesforce.com. They know exactly how Salesforce works - its strengths and weaknesses as a marketing tool. As a result, they were able to truly understand our business processes and challenges and show us exactly how to meet our needs for multi-touch attribution reporting.

Beyond that, the implementation team was extremely professional throughout the implementation - prompt, articulate, and thorough! They offered numerous customizations within their platform to provide a flexible solution that was exactly what we needed.

What do you dislike?

The only complaint I have as a busy person is that I want reports to load faster. However, I appreciate the amount of complexity involved in their analytics and am willing to wait 10-20 seconds for some of the reports to load. They appear to be constantly working to fine-tune the user experience and performance has improved since we first got started.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Multi-touch attribution is a very difficult concept to truly wrap your arms around. In today's martech, you deal with everything from web forms, to Google Analytics and AdWords, to CRM, marketing automation, and even phone call tracking (thanks Invoca!). Brightfunnel has provided us with a centralized reporting platform that unifies all of these different sources. We are now able to run reports on-demand that were previously run manually once per month or that were not even possible for us to tackle.

"BrightFunnel is a game-changer for marketing attribution"

What do you like best?

-Easy to use

-Provides eye opening data

-Flexibility to customize the way you want to see the data

-Reports can be downloaded

What do you dislike?

-This is not so much a knock on BrightFunnel, but just a point about setting up any tool like this - you can only get out what you put in. So your data must be clean. Your Salesforce must be set up correctly in order for the tool to work well.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Well worth the investment, but make sure you put in the time required to set it up. Once you set it up, it is easy to use.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

You can clearly see which of your marketing campaigns are the most effective and you can prove ROI. It always shows the customer journey. You can start understanding how many campaigns an closed won deal touches, on average. You can understand if your webinars are effective, if your content marketing is effective, if your events are effective. I found the data to be very clear and extremely helpful. I HIGHLY recommend Brightfunnel.

"Eye-opening insights! "

What do you like best?

Simplicity of use; the pre-built reporting provides CMO executive summaries as well as allowing deep-dives into Channel performance and Campaign attribution with a single click.

What do you dislike?

The admin area isn't fully built out to support custom admin, but the team provide real-time support for any requests I have.

Recommendations to others considering the product

GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out) - Don't make the mistake in assuming BrightFunnel will automatically fix your attribution or highlight your top Marketing campaigns; there is still a certain amount of discipline required in setting up your campaigns correctly in Salesforce and being rigorous in how you set expectations, input costs and time periods etc. Setting these fundamentals early on will allow BrightFunnel to be even more impactful for your business needs.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Having worked in database management and struggled with data hygiene for reporting for 10+ years, Bright Funnel changed my life as a Marketing Analyst. I spend more time delivering insights to the business, time that I used to spend manipulating and cleaning up bad data. With Bright Funnel, the answers to business questions are instantly accessible and my contributions to the business are even more valuable.

"Excellent Product - Enables Marketers to Easily Measure Performance"

What do you like best?

BrightFunnel has an easy to use interface and a pretty intuitive way of showing metrics related to campaigns and programs. It has definitely been a time-saver for our marketing operations team to be able to point various stakeholders (especially the field group) to relevant reports where they can see the performance of their events and programs.

What do you dislike?

Because so many of the reports are out of the box and controlled, there are some limitations to customizing how you see and filter your data without working with support. Exporting data has some limitations as well.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our immediate business problem was the accessibility of reliable reporting on attribution across campaigns and by events. Salesforce has limited sophistication and BrightFunnel has really helped us fill the gap between needing high quality reporting and having limited marketing ops resources on the team.

"Transforming our Marketing team with campaign performance and attribution metrics"

What do you like best?

The implementation and configuration process are best in class! The whole BF team are great to work with. We have a solution that we can rely on for accurate campaign ROI, which is helping inform our investment decisions. Have 4 attribution models are also great, as we can answer different questions with each one. We've made 3 different customizations to better fit our business model and all were executed well and quickly.

What do you dislike?

The data loading is slow from time to time. The new dashboard was just released so I'll need to spend more time on that to see if I can create our CMO's dashboard from here, as opposed to going to BF & SFDC.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I recommend vetting a few scenarios: 1) as a campaign manager looking to report out on a specific campaign, event, or roadshow; 2) as Mktg leadership trying to figure out where to cut budget; 3) as a Mktg team trying to figure out what combinations of programs/tactics have been working with the largest recent deals.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Campaign performance, marketing attribution and impact, as well as deal deconstruction have been key for us to optimize our marketing programs and spend to support Sales. It's also great to leverage BF in our reviews with Inside Sales, Sales management, and Finance, as transparency helps foster trust and credibility.

"Great Product and people "

What do you like best?

The product is easy to use for marketers, yet provides full marketing contribution analysis. It is easy enough for marketers to use directly while at the same time being very comprehensive in what it provides. The help text and the organization of the text is well done and also helps.

What do you dislike?

Global filters seem to be flaky, they work sometimes and then not work other times.

I would like the ability to select account attribution, and opp role attribution on the fly. Account is perfect for reviews with marketers, op role is better for sales. We have not tried to re-configure at all and have been discouraged to do so.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Great Company and Software. I found the process where we integrated with SFDC as shockingly easy. This really made the bring up process painless and fast.

"A better view."

What do you like best?

BrightFunnel has given us a several new ways for us to view campaign attribution and account based marketing. We can view our entire marketing history and segment the data by each business group with ease. There are almost too many ways to slice the data but it gives every group with in our marketing org is able to leverage BrightFunnel to discover the relevant insights for their team.

BrightFunnel has been a great partner, spending the time to make sure we get the most out of their tool. They respond to our teams needs quickly, are transparent when issues arrive and resolve them quickly.

What do you dislike?

The learning curve with BrightFunnel can be steep. There is so much going on and if you don't have a clean process in SFDC integration can be slow.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Democratizing data. We are able to give our entire marketing organization the ability to gather the insights that mater to their team and their campaigns.

"Transformed view of Marketing Campaign Performance"

What do you like best?

**Multi-touch Attribution**

BrightFunnel transformed our SalesForce data to give us real insight on how our marketing campaigns are driving revenue. Before Multi-touch, we were relying on the "Primary Campaign Source" field in SalesForce for pipeline/revenue attribution. This field was unreliable/inconsistent as many different people had different ideas of which campaign should be considered the "primary" source. Now, we get the full view of ALL of the campaigns influencing opportunities.

**The People**

The BrightFunnel team has been a pleasure to work with. Their support team responds quickly and has always resolved my issues. The Customer Success team stays in constant communication with me and my needs have even driven new product features and other changes in the product based on my feedback.

What do you dislike?

I think the product is lacking in some data visualizations. There are some very useful graphs and data representations in the product, but also some that are not helpful to me.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Be prepared to communicate through all of your metrics to understand how you want BrightFunnel to process your SalesForce data. We spent a lot of time re-iterating on our implementation as we worked toward a consistent definition for attribution, what counts as a marketing touch point, etc.

Make sure your exec team (or whoever will be looking at BrightFunnel data) is on board and has a say in this process. You need to understand what metrics are important to them to ensure you are using BrightFunnel to full effectiveness.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

BrightFunnel has really helped us optimize our Marketing Campaign budget. We have been able to identify our less effective campaigns and re-allocate that budget to other Marketing campaigns to drive better ROI.

BrightFunnel has also helped us improve internal communication by bringing confidence to the data. We have built trust around the BrightFunnel Reports as a consistent data source. Before, there was inconsistency in metrics/data being reported on by different departments which muddied the waters when trying to make decisions.

"BrightFunnel provides great insights in your marketing initiatives!"

What do you like best?

I could see how marketing initiatives we're touching each opportunity whether it be closed, forecasted to close or open. This provided great insights that Marketing could provide Senior Leadership to attribute to the sales pipeline. Second, I could see $$$ each marketing initiative was bringing in relative to overall business. Third, I could see what campaigns or events provide ROI and which attributed less than expected.

What do you dislike?

That it didn't integrate with HubSpot for data purposes for additional campaign, website, or automation insights, that I couldn't directly link to Salesforce or BrightFunnel's web snippet.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Consider that you are going to need 2 experts to lead to take BrightFunnel live. A person dedicated to BrightFunnel on a day to day or week to week that knows what your senior leaders want BrightFunnel to answer AND a person with expert knowledge in Salesforce that understands how it will correlate with marketing attribution.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

BrightFunnel showed our company's senior leadership the correlation between marketing initiatives and how they attributed each closed opportunity to the sales pipeline. We are also able to show exact ROI of event, not just in it's current state, but 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years down the line at a simple search.

BrightFunnel provides the opportunity to course correct if you aren't provided enough focus on what particular area of marketing, for instance, through the web snippet, we saw that we could focus more on website SEO and traffic.

"A great multi-touch attribution software and customer support is awesome!"

What do you like best?

As a marketer, we typically rely on Salesforce for our reporting. But Salesforce is very "point in time" and it also only looks at campaigns from a first-sourced perspective.

BrightFunnel gives you a lot more context around which campaigns and web activities are influencing pipeline, and helps to show marketing's influence on the business.

What do you dislike?

Some of the reports can be confusing as "behavior in this cohort" isn't always clear as to whether it's talking about the lead/contact or the campaign. You need a LOT of hand holding in order to be able to understand the reports and the dashboards.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Know that the insight will kick in from the date you install BrightFunnel with your salesforce. It won't help much with looking at past opportunity "journey".

Also, make sure you have a dedicated Marketing Ops person to manage the implementation, but be sure that everyone on the team is trained on the dashboards and basic reporting.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are trying to look at marketing campaign performance not just from a first-sourced perspective, but overall influence. We're also using it to measure what web assets are performing best, and which channels are driving the most web traffic and lead conversion (from paid and earned media)

"Brightfunnel Review"

What do you like best?

Using Brightfunnel has helped our team optimize our outreach and efforts. This tool pulls in data from all over (Pardot, Salesforce, etc) and really helps us connect the dots!

What do you dislike?

While worth it, It takes time to set up and customize the account to ensure different activities and efforts (ie emails, webinars, tradshows, etc) are properly weighted and attributed to sales. Ultimately this leads to more accurate reporting, but it takes time to get there.

Their customer success team is awesome- do not hesitate to reach out and ask questions!

Our strategy has become much more targeted and thoughtful. After reviewing the efficacy of our marketing activities, we have been able to improve the customer experience.

What do you like best?

Brightfunnel is very easy to use and easy to navigate. I'm able to now see the impact of my marketing campaigns way beyond what Salesforce reporting gives me. I'm able to see what marketing programs are making the biggest impact on pipeline and revenue. The people at Brightfunnel are very helpful and make sure I have everything I need to be successful

"Off to a great start"

What do you like best?

We're a small startup with no analyst/IT resources so my marketing team needed a reporting tool that was out of the box and marketing focused, specifically capable of tracking multi-touch attribution. There are many SFDC -centric reporting tools on the market but few that are marketing focused. Brightfunnel is the first vendor I've worked with that gets what we're trying to do - prove marketing is a revenue generating center, not a cost center. The product like all software apps is a work in progress, but they're starting from the right vantage point and already have a platform that's capable of delivering on this objective

What do you dislike?

As with any product that provides canned reports and a mostly locked-down interface, there have been cases where we simply couldn't pull a report or display the data in a way that met our exact business need. We knew that would be the case going in, and Brightfunnel is still at a development stage where they're taking input from customers like us and quickly incorporating many of those requests into the product.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

As a B-B software marketing manager for the past 15 years, tracking the effectiveness of marketing's efforts holistically (multi-touch attribution) has been the holy grail. For me it's been just out of reach. I've had the data model necessary but either lacked the internal resources or BI tools to pull the data out of our CRM system to properly address these questions. It's great to see tools like Brightfunnel sprouting up and filling the void. We've already seen thanks to Brightfunnel, that we're better at helping sales pull leads through the sales cycle than going out and acquiring leads for them. We were considering moving to an account-based marketing model and Brightfunnel gave us the validation we needed to move forward.

"Initial Thoughts"

What do you like best?

I think the visualization is great. When you're talking about the Marketing/Sales funnel and conversions, it's easier for your audience to understand if there is a picture that can help tell the story. I also like that it makes my job easier. Salesforce has limitations and I usually need to export and connect data sets manually in Excel. BrightFunnel pulls all of that data from Salesforce and puts it together for you!

What do you dislike?

I don't like that there are limitations on values (i.e. you can only show one). We look at one value for new business and another two values for renewals so the renewal data will have to be taken with a grain of salt as it won't be 100% accurate (and include 2 values)..

Recommendations to others considering the product

Implementation is key. If you don't set it up properly, it won't be useful so work closely with Support.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We don't have a way for Marketing to measure our influence on existing business. We currently use a first touch model and that can't be applied to clients who may have been inspired to purchase another product because of a webinar we hosted. The first touch on such an opportunity would just not make sense.

"Great experience"

What do you like best?

As a marketing programs manager, BrightFunnel was great because it allowed me to track the success (or failure) of my marketing programs. I loved being able to go into the tool myself and see the number of influenced or created opportunities, revenue, MQLs, etc. It fully put me in charge of my numbers, which was great for when I needed to send reports to my boss to prove value.

What do you dislike?

This may be our fault but we initially had issues with our reporting because our data wasn't very clean. Numbers didn't match up, programs didn't match up and it caused some problems.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

BrightFunnel helps give marketing a seat at the revenue table. Pulling analytics used to be such a pain and there were always so many questions and doubt around attribution but being able to pull those numbers confidently in BrightFunnel has been so helpful to be able to prove value.

"Brightfunnel is a Must-have For Content Marketing ROI"

What do you like best?

There are very few tools out there that help demonstrate the impact of content on the sales cycle. BrightFunnel was able to aggregate data from every asset we published—so I knew which accounts downloaded a piece of content at what stage in the lead cycle. This was huge for our Account-Based Marketing initiative and scored big points with the sales team. More importantly, with BrightFunnel's multi-touch attribution, I was able to demonstrate that content was the leading influencer on pipeline after events. And we were spending tens of thousands of dollars on events, so the ROI of content was much higher. These metrics allowed our team to push for more resources allocated for content and helped our entire organization understand the importance of content on revenue. I will push to have BrightFunnel as part of my tech stack no matter where I go.

What do you dislike?

There are a lot of ways to visualize data. It was important for each person on our team to understand what to pull and how to do it. There was some discrepancy there, but the success team was always there to help us get it right.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With BrightFunnel we could easily prove ROI and impact of each marketing effort, and make data-backed decisions about where to invest in the next quarter. It also saved a ton of time for reporting because we weren't [badly] translating a zillion Salesforce reports.

"Love BF - from quick insights on campaigns to how marketing impacts an account - very valuable"

What do you like best?

It just works. So many software vendors in the MarTech space are too much vaporware or clunky manual steps/integrations. Brightfunnel works. It's a refreshing change. They have been fantastic to work with - pulling in feature requests we have, continuously improving their product and overall very good to deal with. I wish all my vendors were like them.

What do you dislike?

It's not a dislike but a feature request to pull in

- eloqua data

- data from vendors such as Demand Base

goal is to get more holistic marketing impact picture.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Insight into sourced & influenced pipeline & revenue from multiple cohorts, easily filterable by key dimensions. Also great to visualize all the marketing touches made within an account.

What do you like best?

The diverse types of marketing analysis that is very difficult to get in any other system

What do you dislike?

As I'm early in my usage of Brightfunnel, I'm just not as familiar with the reports that are available or the marketing influence it's showing - it will just take some getting used to looking at new marketing programs with these types of attribution models.

"Amazing insight for CMOs"

What do you like best?

Super intuitive. We spent months trying to get our marketing automation platform to give us the insight we really needed into which of our campaigns were really influencing opportunities, and just couldn't ever get the data to work. Brightfunnel had us going in a day. It was great.

What do you dislike?

No major complaints - the team is very responsive.

We have a complex sale, increasingly to enterprise businesses, and need great multi-touch attribution to get a true understanding of what campaigns are influencing and driving revenue.

"Fantastic visibility and insights"

What do you like best?

Ease of use and dashboards. Account engagement and campaign attribution at a glance.

What do you dislike?

The initial setup with SFDC can be tricky depending on your org. Self service is improving.

Brightfunnel is incredibly powerful but you really need to take the time to understand where all the data if pulling from and how to interpret what you're seeing.

We had no visibility into multi touch attribution in our SFDC org. Brightfunnel helped us see the marketing attribution on both leads and contacts in multiple ways.

Prior to BrightFunnel, we were not able to track our marketing impact and campaign effectiveness very accurately. We were previously tracking ROI through Salesforce Primary Campaign Source, which was prone to human error (adding the wrong campaign or forgetting to add one at all.) BrightFunnel allows us to see what campaigns are working and what campaigns aren't.

"So much great data"

What do you like best?

We can visualize and report upon data that was nearly impossible to compile on our own.

What do you dislike?

I wish that there were more customization options beyond filters but the team has been great about working with us on any additional enhancements that we have been interested in.

"Multi-touch reporting is a game changer"

What do you like best?

We love being able to see the program success in a multi-touch model.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes the software can be a little slow.

Being able to provide attribution to campaigns that are generally top of the funnel. We were using last touch reporting in Salesforce for campaign attribution. Now with BrightFunnel we can see the full picture of which campaigns are influencing deals.

"Pretty user friendly, a bit of a learning curve"

What do you like best?

I love the ability to have all of your marketing data from every channel in one place. This is the kind of software we were looking for to unify our marketing efforts.

What do you dislike?

There have been several times where we needed the Brightfunnel team to dig in and solve some problems for us, there isn't a lot you can do yourself when something goes wrong.

Definitely worth the cost, just know it may take some time to get implemented and to understand.

What do you like best?

BirghtFunnel is a pretty nimble tool and their team is willing to get the product where we need it to be!

What do you dislike?

At this point, nothing! We are still getting things set up but having more opportunities to report and measure our marketing efforts is a 'plus' for me!

What do you like best?

Attribution for specific opportunities, showing all the many contact touches across multiple campaigns

What do you dislike?

I need to see performance for specific campaigns, and compare against other specific campaigns. I understand this is coming.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Moving away from a one-dimensional view of opportunity and revenue sourcing towards a full view of all the account touches involved in winning deals, and also which types of marketing activities tend to yield better results.

"So far so good"

What do you like best?

We are new to BrightFunnel, but I've been impressed with what I've seen so far. I like the visuals (graphs & charts) that help you easily understand the reports. Searching campaign performance and building dashboards is simple.

What do you dislike?

I wish that the reports weren't limited to pre-pipe. Also, there are some nuances to BrightFunnel that are different from the typical way we look at marketing performance - it's just going to take some getting used to.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The biggest benefit is getting a better understanding on our marketing influence. In the past, we typically relied on sourced pipeline reports, so it's nice to get a broader picture.

"A must have!"

What do you like best?

Brightfunnel eliminates a ton of manual work, and expands on the limitations of SFDC. It will capture leads who weren't added to opps or accounts, and create a timeline of the buyer journey.

What do you dislike?

The reports aren't very customizable - but they are always working to improve this

We are mainly solving the issue of attribution. Other benefits include getting stats by campaigns type (ie. web content), and determining which campaigns are accelerating deals.

I feel like I don't fully understand how to use BF to it's maximum potential. Also I wish it updated more frequently.

Unlimited seats - pricey but shows value to execs quickly. Make sure to get your whole team trained on the product early.

I used to have to find opportunity data manually in order to attribute campaign success. This is a HUGE time saver and is in (mostly) real time. We have realized which campaigns have faster velocity and where we should invest in marketing.

"Overall very satisfied!"

What do you like best?

How easy it is to search for the campaigns and the ability to view opportunities influenced by campaigns in SFDC through Brightfunnel.

What do you dislike?

The parent campaign function in SFDC does not hold when the campaigns are synced to BrightFunnel which is frustrating since it would help us with grouping the ROI of programs where we have multiple SFDC campaigns.

Campaign attribution and ROI. We're able to look at campaigns from a lot of different angles to understand the whole funnel.

"Awesome tool with a stellar team behind it!"

What do you like best?

The tool runs the spectrum of needs, from quick hits (like orphan lead finder) to more scaled out campaign cleanliness tactics I think the tool is capable of achieving a lot.

What do you dislike?

The UI is a bit clunky and its hard to figure out where things are that you need to find.

What do you like best?

Customizable dashboards allow us to give specific information to teams that need it. The customer success team is also top notch here.

Some things aren't visible, but if you work with your CSM, they can find the best way for you to get close to what you are looking for.

"Strong young product with a great support team"

What do you like best?

The latest pivot of the company and the product is very young, but off to a great start. The product adds a lot of visibility previously unaccessible in SFDC.

Being a very young product, there are still a lot of features and product stability that need to be built in, but everything is off to a good start.
