Tool is intuitive for real world impediments in agile implementation. It is very simple to configure portfolio kind of large enterprise solution and track the deliverables with little effort.
Minimizes time spent on pulling data and generating reports. User manuals and video tutorials are of top quality and ease to pick the tool. Ease of maintaining admin tasks. Scrum ceremonies, artifacts are simulated very well to get real feel of agile implementation by accessing the tool
Pricing seems to be revisited. Though lot of manual content is available but to get support from the team is little long process. Lack of chat support.
Go for CA Agile. The product meets the intended purpose for agile delivery.
CA Central Agile enables agile delivery with ease and provides comprehensive features to track timeboxes WIP items of the committed increments. It's learning content is very simple to understand and any novice can learn the tool quickly.
There are a lot of things to like about the tool. It's fairly easy to represent large scale projects that break down across a variety of teams and roles. It handles defects, dependencies, and tasks very well.
Sometimes info gets lost between the Notes and the Discussion areas. Rules for generation notifications are hugely cumbersome. Auto-saved changes can generate an avalanche of notifications if someone is putzing through a lot of little details. It doesn't offer any tools for sanity checking (for example, it would be nice if it highlighted 0-hour tasks after a spring has started, or let me see all US with fully-completed tasks)
A good, comprehensive solution, but the rough edges will make it less than ideal if you have teams resistant to Agile/Scrum.
Org-wide sprint planning and coordination. It's helped keep multiple separate teams on track and in communication.
Have been using it since 1 year its easy to use for basic requirement collection and task based discussions. Drag and drop feature for priority management. Sumple UI elements for changing filters, right hand side panels for making quick updates on the user story and tasks. New team board is a good start but more is expected.
No popup windows, single frame UI that makes it very difficult for managers or leads to open different tasks/stories. On the smaller screens there is so mach scrolling required. Dashboard experience is not the best as it just loads the standard views. Column customisation and filters for grid are missing. While viewing a long list its not possible to search user story or task by name is really frustrating. Default reports are just too basic. UI can be improved a lot.
It is best for managing small/medium project having limited number of tasks. UI has some limitations which is ideal in case of Pure Agile - one task at a time, but that is not always the case for team leads and project managers.
It provides a platform to collect all requirements and discussion place to nurture requirements, provides status update and track Sprint releases. By adding Business Owners and Task Owners to Watch list it keeps them updated about progress on the status without sending emails manually.
Discussion thread is not positioned correctly but it still provides necessary features to do the forum discussion on the same.
I have been using this web app since i became a working student here in ACT Cebu. My likes of this application is you can create stories for yourself or for your team mate to know what to are your to do's. And you can determine or monitor your progress in making the projects of a company. There are many features that you can do using this application.
It needs internet connection and the UI is not easy to adopt easily. It takes time to learn and familiarize the use and the functionalities of every feature.
I recommend this application because it is very useful in any company. This can solve your management system of your employees. Monitor your improvement with your team. Track sales and any transactions or any projects you will make. And it will be organized and in the right track or steps in making those projects using this application.
It can be used in software developing or any business that needs progress monitoring and employee teamwork capability.
The way everything is organised in CA agile central. The scrum team in which I am a part of, had our lives made easier by CA Agile central tool. It is so convenient to track user stories and estimate from product backlogs and keep track of our team's activities. The user story creation, ownership and maintenance all comes with easy with Agile. It helps a lot in kick starting a sprint with clear and documented goals and helps achieve them completely by the end of the sprint. In the summary pages, the action items are designed perfectly with easy way to raise and track and defects.
The tool has some timely bugs with it. Sometimes, it takes too much time to load. The rest of the time it works fine. Also, we users are not in loop for the announcement of continued updates and hence when a new update arrives we will be having a hard time getting used to it. It also helps in effective communication. Now, we have a better understanding of the market and can recognize good and bad products and deliver well.
Would be nice if the speed of the application is increased with less access time.
I am working in an Agile team with DevOps framework incorporated. With CA Agile central, there were blowing past commitments, no issues on transparency and we were able to get products into market faster.
How easy it is to create stories and tasks.
Also documenting Acceptance Criteria and task details such as test processes and results.
The multiple views of stories is great too:
Iteration Status, team status, Team Board, Swim lanes organizing related stories.
We started using colors and swim lanes as soon as they were available. There great.
The Swim Lane view of stories does not include the points for each story in the bottom right corner
as is shown for stories in the Iteration Status view.
We would use the Swim Lane view more if the points were shown there too.
Especially in PI planning meetings.
We assign colors to related stories and the swim lane view groups them by color but
then we can't see how big each story is or set the number of points to each story there.
We have to go to the Iteration Status for that, causing lots of flipping back and forth.
All story info should be displayed any where a story shows up.
Better abilities to fully document stories and tasks with large documentation fields such as descriptions, acceptance criteria, test results, notes, etc. that other tools I've used.
Also lots of ways to organize and group stories:
By Release, iteration, expedite, milestone, story type, colors, swim lane priority, etc
We don't always use all of them but the are nice to have if we need them.
Creating typical agile stories and tasks, documenting Acceptance Criteria.
Also sometimes test processes and results for future reference.
