"Pretty much google docs for contract management"

What do you like best?

The highlighting is very nice and the users say the interface is pretty intuitive.

What do you dislike?

There are many thing. Essentially, the templates are all completely bespoke, so re-use is incredibly limited. From an administrative perspective, there was way too much overhead unless you literally are just doing the same exact terms and conditions each time, it's not very useful. The workflow around managing the entire lifecycle of the contract was not very mature when talking about complicated multi-year contracts with many revisions. The two-factor authentication is not actually built directly into this product but rather goes through another product, which adds unnecessary complexity to setting up something that REALLY should be protected with 2FA.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you are focusing on the concurrent editing aspect and don't have much variation in your contracts, would recommend looking into this solution. It integrates with Salesforce, but would recommend just using standalone if you can.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Having a central repository for legal contracts governing business deals. Being able to collaborate on the same contract language between our lawyers and theirs. We were hoping to realize some great benefits from this, but it really hasn't worked out and are considering discontinuing use. It is just not a very mature product.

"Great for marketing"

What do you like best?

I like that this product is cloud hosted and can be used on a mobile device or a computer. It works well for business of all sizes and can be used with Mac, Windows or even Linux. It has live support which is probably the best feature. Great support as well.

What do you dislike?

You really need to have salesforce in order to use this product. If you don't the cost goes up in order to implement it with other programs. The templates are also not the best and they cannot be configured to what you would like it to look like, would love more options with the design.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It is a really great product for email-marketing. It tracks visitors and I use it to launch campaigns. Great as a paperless solution.

"Challenging product to roll out and administer"

What do you like best?

You can configure end-to-end workflows and approvals within the platform, minimizing many communications that previously were done offline or on separate products.

What do you dislike?

The most challenging piece of this software is the configurations and integrations. This product takes time to configure across various parties internally and those configurations are not always intuitive from an end user perspective. This can lead to baulky implementation and software adoption.

Do a thorough solution scoping of the product and your specific use cases during the sales process before considering implementation. Consider this from a stakeholder and admin perspective because the flows take considerable effort to configure.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are solving for a consolidated CLM workflow across different internal stakeholders. This product facilitates these flows better than managing them offline.

"Good offering but difficult to configure"

What do you like best?

There was good functionality that should meet the needs of most organisations.

What do you dislike?

If you do not use Salesforce.com it is incredibly difficult to use and requires additional development and costs to integrate.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you are looking at CPQ solutions, I would recommend SteelBrick. This has since been bought by Salesforce and is an integrated solution. It has worked incredibly well to grow alongside the company.

We built the system initially but had to move away to an alternative solution to ensure that we could merge our systems as we were using Dynamics

"Affordability, Traceability, allows Regional Managers to see what's happening in their region"

What do you like best?

Web Accessibility! Our "Outside" people don't have to VPN to access CPQ and can provide customer quotes "real-time"

What do you dislike?

Initial implementation was difficult (Not Callidus' fault, ours) we have too many different ways to apply discounts and have too many different price lists and rules for different customers. CPQ was able to capture all of these, but required more time "up front" to get it right

What do you like best?

User friendly interface, mobility, connectivility to third party apps.

What do you dislike?

CLM support only SFDC CRM. It's better to support other CRM too.

I enjoyed the functionality that it met the needs that we had at the moment.

I would ask for more flexibility for the templates.
