What do you like best?
The ability to evaluate different software by category pretty easily. From an advertiser's perspective, most of the leads are lower funnel, ready-to-buy audience. It's also pretty straightforward.
What do you dislike?
Capterra is not the most user-friendly Interface, but they are making progress. Also, sometimes the leads are not the best quality. This may be due to bad traffic from time to time, but most of the time the traffic is pretty relevant.
Recommendations to others considering the product
Since they have been purchased by Gartner, most of the changes have been to consolidate the different review sites they own. Some have been a good move, others have been neutral.
Also, some categories are perfect, while other categories can be difficult to compete in, when speaking in terms of advertising. Some of the more competitive categories, there are a great deal of competition, so you will be paying a lot more for those leads. If the ROI works out, then great, but there are some categories where the cost is too high.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
The benefits is the ability to gain perspective from others who have utilized the product.
And from an advertiser's perspective, it's great because these are where the customers are before they make their purchase decision on what software. So if you believe you will rank well, you should go for it. But it won't help if your software or company already has bad reputation. You probably should focus on improving your software and your company.
