"Great Customer Service"

What do you like best?

Billing is easy to understand. Customer service is easy to reach and very helpful. Services are very clear and reliable. Easy to create and access customer portal. Can download invoices from customer portal. Can also make changes and contact customer service from customer portal. Have access to all past invoices up to 2 years. Can have multiple service locations on one account for easy billing payments (helpful for large corporations.)

What do you dislike?

Billing dates do not always line up with the previous month. 20 days billing cycle. If you have multiple accounts, if your account information is not specified or lost by vendor, there will possibly be a number of misapplied payment, which can be a real headache to resolve. And misapplied payments can result in account possibly being suspended if not noticed and handled in a timely manner.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Great product! make sure that, when paying, please provide all account information. If not, your company could possibly end up with misapplied payments if you have multiple account with this company. Customer account is easy to access. Customer Service is very helpful.

"Why we use CenturyLink"

What do you like best?

The cost savings for the service versus having to have our own network support staff is ver attactive to a small business.

What do you dislike?

CenturyLink is a large company with many divisions that have internal communication issues

CenturyLink managed hosting solves all of our internet presence needs without having to hire specialized staff and support onsite infrastructure.

"Interesting experience at a different kind of data center"

What do you like best?

The security surrounding the facility entrance was spectacular and gave you the sense that you and your data would be well protected when inside the facility.

What do you dislike?

The lack of an external security fence made me very uneasy about the facility. Not to mention being right off a main road with easy access to it.

Recommendations to others considering the product

They were stellar before, now they have a bit of work to do to get back up to par.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We migrated from a facility of similar type in chicago. It was and is still a gigantic leap from the site in chicago where we previously hosted systems. The benefit so far was providing a centralized location that many customers valued over the original location.

"I don't regret consuming their services"

What do you like best?

What i liked the most from using their services in general was everything i had in their infrastructure was under the sight of experts in the area who could easily bring up a solution if i ever needed some sort of help in anything related to the services the bring in a fast and secure way.

What do you dislike?

At this time i had no major issues when i used their services, although i would've liked them to be a little more cheap.

If you're looking for someone with deep experience and willing to help, you should take a look at their services and ask for a quote so you can talk with them what you need, they will lead you in the way you need, either you user their services or not.

"Century Link Managed Hosting"

What do you like best?

this is a really high performance tool. This is used for an IT infrastructure and is flexible, allowing high performance while managing business. we also receive great support on this tool from the consulting community.

What do you dislike?

I don't like that we did not have another option in deciding on a tool but this has worked so far so no complaints with them.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I recommend getting your business infrastructure set up FIRST, then deciding what needs will have to be met, then look at all tool options. Also, be clear with the consulting team, they can be very helpful!

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

we did not have an IT infrastructure to manage business are were realizing that we needed something with high back up and that we did not need to internally set up or manage, which the consulting team has done for us!

"Used for business meetings"

What do you like best?

I like that you can record conference calls and that it easily links up with Webex.

What do you dislike?

I dislike that the recordings are difficult to find and you have to use a different site to access them, it seems counter intuitive.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our vendors are off-shore, and it helps us manage our weekly meetings on a timely manner.

"Get it right. "

What do you like best?

Wifi is important for everything I need to do.

What do you dislike?

Raising prices and not advising users of the change so that I have to call in and threaten to cancel to get the price lowered. Why would you not just lower the price, you'll have happier customers.

Lower wifi cost.

"Excellent service, well delivered"

What do you like best?

For a business looking for managed hosting there's few choices that can really compare as far as the variance and stability provided by CenturyLink. Robust service, redundancy, 24/7 monitoring, and easy to use web portal.

What do you dislike?

There are some other services that provide a wider range of products within the hosted environment, while I personally do not use some of these services I could certainly understand end users need and desire of these products.

If reliability and support are important to your hosting needs, it's most certainly a solution to consider.

Redundancy of hosted environment, and the modern hardware within the data center have proven to be of great value, businesses of any size can benefit from this solution.

"Datacenter is 1st class"

What do you like best?

best uptime/security. We have been using Savvis as a datacenter for our DR and now production systems. They have a very professional staff who know how to keep our site up at all times. can always see my up time via their portal. great reports.

What do you dislike?

I have been pretty happy using Savvis. They have strict security to get in to the data center and although this is needed, they require to revalidate your card if you have not been there in 3 months. we do most of our stuff remotely so having to stop and get revalidated takes up too much time. i understand why these procedures are in place but maybe there is a better way.

"Century Link for governmental program use"

What do you like best?

The ability to do so much. There are many components. Staff has access to some and management others.

It can be a lot to learn at first. New users will need training

"Lack of support"

What do you like best?

System runs as expected, handles day to day tasks.

Support for this software left much to be desired, and eventually led to discontinued use.

"Good Service When It Matters Most."

What do you like best?

Reliability/up time was pretty good. Very few issues with that and when outages did happen, the response time to get things back up and running was pretty good. Good at responding to emergency situations, which is exactly what you need from a managed hosting/colo provider! Service team was always pleasant and eager to help.

What do you dislike?

Non-emergency requests were handled pretty slowly and customer service team didn't seem to have visibility into past issues. I would call about the same issue multiple times in a year, and every time, they had difficulty figuring out what to do. Many third party vendors handle the savvis provided software, many times providing outdated versions of the software.

As far as providers go, Savvis is pretty good for the price.

"Excellent Data Centers with Good Service"

What do you like best?

Response for support is typically very good, and their uptime record is excellent (for the datacenters I deal with).

What do you dislike?

Whenever an outage takes place, they are slow to provide reasons why, and will not provide ETA's on resolutions.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Whenever it comes to a COLO Data Center I have found Savvis offers all the modern technologies and staffs their data centers with good, knowledgable people.
