"Best Payment Processor!"

What do you like best?

We love chargent's ability to integrate with Salesforce, which is our main cloud computing software. It offers a variety of automation and information, that paints a clear picture for our users.

What do you dislike?

With automation, comes challenges when integrating with other applications. It does take a lot of time to tweak and prioritize, but we've had amazing support to assist with this.

Recommendations to others considering the product

When considering chargent, we would recommend to ensure you have a strategic roadmap of what you would like to accomplish from the technical and financial side, with the main platform you are working with. Definitely look further into the reporting requirements, and the ease of adoption with users.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

One of our main problems originally, was being able to process directly through Salesforce, and having the information available to us. With Chargent, we were able to do that, properly facilitate transactions/refunds, and much more.

"Time saving product"

What do you like best?

The product works as expected and greatly simplified the gateway implementation in Salesforce with its preconfigured opportunity automation. The team have been quick to help me resolve questions during our initial setup, and the product has evolved to support more gateways since we began using it.

What do you dislike?

The gateway provider we use eWay required some fields populated that were unique to that gateway, and this wasn't covered in the documentation, however having said that, the team were able to understand my issue very quickly, and explain to me and how to resolve my issues when I logged a case with them.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Allows us to manage single and recurring donations, along with all the complex transactional scenarios that might arise from this.

"Easy and Effective"

What do you like best?

Using Chargent has saved our accounting team a ton of time each week, and made it easier for our customers. The support from them has been great as well. Our customers have been asking us for an easy way to pay be credit card for years, and now we've been able to give them that. The full integration to FinancialForce means that we don't have to manually make payment updates. The setup was easy, and I was able to do full sandbox testing before deploying to production. Great app.

What do you dislike?

The sandbox install expires, which means I can't run full testing when FinancialForce updates without setting it up again. This is the one thing I would like them to change.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I definitely recommend Chargent to others looking for a native Salesforce payment gateway. Definitely talk to the Appfolio team prior to setup so that you know what needs to be done, and have all the details you need to made it work. Once you have everything, the setup and testing is fairly straightforward.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have been able to give our customers and easy way to pay by credit/debit card, and removed a significant amount of work for our accounting team.

"Flexible product for processing payments in salesforce"

What do you like best?

Chargent has really one purpose: Processing payment in salesforce, and it does that well. It's flexible because you can build your own customization or rely on its basic out of the box features.

It can process many gateways--it sends either one-time or batched payment info to one of many payment gateways and returns the response to Salesforce. It will run off of Opportunities or Orders.

It comes with a simple card update email notification to customers that is helpful. You set up your opportunities to get caught in a nightly batch for recurring gifts or to send email reminders when a card is expiring. All the data is managed in salesforce

Has some validation built in to stop bad data entry.

What do you dislike?

Because you have almost total control, the learning curve is a bit steep for an admin and the docs are thorough but maybe not simple.

It would be nice to have more control over the queries for nightly jobs that charge recurring. It is a bit limiting in that it doesn't have a "listener" for data from your processor. Therefore it can't take advantage of new account updating feature on many processors (the ones that try to keep recurring payment info up to date without relying on the customer to update their info).

The interface for data entry is just the salesforce record, so the UI is salesforce-limited. You can build your own Visualforce or other interface.

Fully test out your use case and make sure the nightly batches work the way you need them to.

Processing cards & EFT (one-time and recurring donations) in salesforce, automated recurring, automated emails to expiring cards is all done easily.

"2 years of experience using Chargent"

What do you like best?

its easy to create automatically, Its is very easy to refund the borrower through the same chargent order just by clicking to refund.

Chargent gives you all the information that is needed for that transaction, ID, date, amount charged and created date.

What do you dislike?

I dont like that chargent doesnt have the good description of the name itself. It only shows the numbers and the latest number is the one that is the lates transaction. But as we are working with a lot of chargents searching for the right transaction is always difficult.

Be aware that the support team is not always responsive and it takes time for them to get back to you. Chargents are easy to use, easy to refund.

the main business problems in our company. We are like a lending company that is always involved with the borrowers and their daily transactions.

"Solid & Flexible product to manage recurring payments"

What do you like best?

- The ability to be independent of Payment Gateway is a huge benefit. So down the road it is easy to move to a Payment provider with lower fees without having to disrupt existing recurring payments and renewals. This is because Credit Card information is stored fully encrypted in SalesForce, and Chargent passes the information as needed to the Payment Gateway. With other products CC data is often left with the Payment provider leading to disruption should you decide to move.

- The product provides a flexible range of payment schedules to suit just about any payment scenario, and includes open ended and time limited payments.

- Because you keep control of credit card details, it is easy to report on expiring CC's and manage CC reminder communications, so you don't lose a customer through expiration.

Customer support & service is superb. Response is prompt and knowlegable. Documentation is clear. I found them as patient and helpful with advanced configuration questions as with basic end user questions. Since payments are mission critical, responsive support is very important.

What do you dislike?

Would like Chargent to offer a simple OOB web-form integration package. Web integration can be done currently with VF and the native SF API. For small organizations without Development resources, something pre-packaged would be helpful.

Include it in your product shortlist, it's definitely worth consideration.

Fundraising campaign utilizing high-volume, small, open-ended recurring payments. Very cost-effective tool for the job.
