"Best Payment Processor!"

What do you like best?

We love chargent's ability to integrate with Salesforce, which is our main cloud computing software. It offers a variety of automation and information, that paints a clear picture for our users.

What do you dislike?

With automation, comes challenges when integrating with other applications. It does take a lot of time to tweak and prioritize, but we've had amazing support to assist with this.

Recommendations to others considering the product

When considering chargent, we would recommend to ensure you have a strategic roadmap of what you would like to accomplish from the technical and financial side, with the main platform you are working with. Definitely look further into the reporting requirements, and the ease of adoption with users.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

One of our main problems originally, was being able to process directly through Salesforce, and having the information available to us. With Chargent, we were able to do that, properly facilitate transactions/refunds, and much more.

"Time saving product"

What do you like best?

The product works as expected and greatly simplified the gateway implementation in Salesforce with its preconfigured opportunity automation. The team have been quick to help me resolve questions during our initial setup, and the product has evolved to support more gateways since we began using it.

What do you dislike?

The gateway provider we use eWay required some fields populated that were unique to that gateway, and this wasn't covered in the documentation, however having said that, the team were able to understand my issue very quickly, and explain to me and how to resolve my issues when I logged a case with them.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Allows us to manage single and recurring donations, along with all the complex transactional scenarios that might arise from this.

"Easy and Effective"

What do you like best?

Using Chargent has saved our accounting team a ton of time each week, and made it easier for our customers. The support from them has been great as well. Our customers have been asking us for an easy way to pay be credit card for years, and now we've been able to give them that. The full integration to FinancialForce means that we don't have to manually make payment updates. The setup was easy, and I was able to do full sandbox testing before deploying to production. Great app.

What do you dislike?

The sandbox install expires, which means I can't run full testing when FinancialForce updates without setting it up again. This is the one thing I would like them to change.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I definitely recommend Chargent to others looking for a native Salesforce payment gateway. Definitely talk to the Appfolio team prior to setup so that you know what needs to be done, and have all the details you need to made it work. Once you have everything, the setup and testing is fairly straightforward.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have been able to give our customers and easy way to pay by credit/debit card, and removed a significant amount of work for our accounting team.

"Flexible product for processing payments in salesforce"

What do you like best?

Chargent has really one purpose: Processing payment in salesforce, and it does that well. It's flexible because you can build your own customization or rely on its basic out of the box features.

It can process many gateways--it sends either one-time or batched payment info to one of many payment gateways and returns the response to Salesforce. It will run off of Opportunities or Orders.

It comes with a simple card update email notification to customers that is helpful. You set up your opportunities to get caught in a nightly batch for recurring gifts or to send email reminders when a card is expiring. All the data is managed in salesforce

Has some validation built in to stop bad data entry.

What do you dislike?

Because you have almost total control, the learning curve is a bit steep for an admin and the docs are thorough but maybe not simple.

It would be nice to have more control over the queries for nightly jobs that charge recurring. It is a bit limiting in that it doesn't have a "listener" for data from your processor. Therefore it can't take advantage of new account updating feature on many processors (the ones that try to keep recurring payment info up to date without relying on the customer to update their info).

The interface for data entry is just the salesforce record, so the UI is salesforce-limited. You can build your own Visualforce or other interface.

Fully test out your use case and make sure the nightly batches work the way you need them to.

Processing cards & EFT (one-time and recurring donations) in salesforce, automated recurring, automated emails to expiring cards is all done easily.

"2 years of experience using Chargent"

What do you like best?

its easy to create automatically, Its is very easy to refund the borrower through the same chargent order just by clicking to refund.

Chargent gives you all the information that is needed for that transaction, ID, date, amount charged and created date.

What do you dislike?

I dont like that chargent doesnt have the good description of the name itself. It only shows the numbers and the latest number is the one that is the lates transaction. But as we are working with a lot of chargents searching for the right transaction is always difficult.

Be aware that the support team is not always responsive and it takes time for them to get back to you. Chargents are easy to use, easy to refund.

"Solid & Flexible product to manage recurring payments"

What do you like best?

- The ability to be independent of Payment Gateway is a huge benefit. So down the road it is easy to move to a Payment provider with lower fees without having to disrupt existing recurring payments and renewals. This is because Credit Card information is stored fully encrypted in SalesForce, and Chargent passes the information as needed to the Payment Gateway. With other products CC data is often left with the Payment provider leading to disruption should you decide to move.

- The product provides a flexible range of payment schedules to suit just about any payment scenario, and includes open ended and time limited payments.

- Because you keep control of credit card details, it is easy to report on expiring CC's and manage CC reminder communications, so you don't lose a customer through expiration.

Customer support & service is superb. Response is prompt and knowlegable. Documentation is clear. I found them as patient and helpful with advanced configuration questions as with basic end user questions. Since payments are mission critical, responsive support is very important.

What do you dislike?

Would like Chargent to offer a simple OOB web-form integration package. Web integration can be done currently with VF and the native SF API. For small organizations without Development resources, something pre-packaged would be helpful.

Include it in your product shortlist, it's definitely worth consideration.

"Simplified Payment Management"

What do you like best?

The ability to not be confined to a single gateway. The presence of the software across many software platforms, and the service the team behind Chargent brings any time you need their assistance.

What do you dislike?

Chargent is pretty thorough in the unique niche it plays in. Can't say there's anything more we'd expect of it that it doesn't already provide.

Really flexible and robust payment management solution that works across many platforms. This was the big driver for us to entrust our payments with the AppFrontier team.

Chargent has allowed us to jump to a more cost effective gateway, lowering our transaction fees, and more importantly it was the critical piece of software that allowed us to have seamless payment management across our software stack. The simplicity of it being native to salesforce.com is a great advantage to the speed in which you can deploy the solution and the limitless opportunities you then have to leverage Chargent to empower your team to optimize your customers' experience.

"Very effective authorize integration"

What do you like best?

This works very well to connect salesforce to authorize. It allowed us to find problems with transactions that did not go through very easily.

What do you dislike?

Nothing. It has been very effective and easy to use. There hasn't been any downtime or bugs. When we had a question or issue, support was very effective.

It is a very good product that fully provides what it says it does.

This allowed us to integrate easily with authorize.net to process payments replacing something highly complicated.

"Great value. Great support"

What do you like best?

Very helpful and responsive customer support. They followed up on a problem that involved an integration with another platform where it was probably a problem with the other platform, but they still made the extra effort to get it solved when the other platform didn't respond.

What do you dislike?

I'd love an easier way to set up with paypal, but I think the current requirements are because of paypal, not chargent.

We're a non-profit taking donations. Chargent has been a great, affordable solution.

"Super flexible Payment System for Salesforce"

What do you like best?

The flexibility of the payment architecture is hands down the best on the AppExchange. Because the solution is truly native, it allows for all types of unique solution builds, from workflow to accepting on multiple gateways, so complex receipting and recurring payment possibilities. It really is refreshing to see an AppExchange solution for payment processing be as flexible as Salesforce itself.

What do you dislike?

It would be nice to expand the documentation for more complex use cases - as well as provide perhaps some accelerators for different payment and receipting models.

Switch if you want your payment processing on the Salesforce platform to just work!

"Fantastic service"

What do you like best?

We use Chargent for our customer facing billing and have enjoyed it quite a lot. Integration into Salesforce was easy and the process is simple for our agents to perform.

What do you dislike?

Nothing. It really has been a great product.

Being able to easily take a credit/debit card as payment for services. Before we went to Chargent, we were using a mobile banking application on a case to case basis. This become too much to deal with. Chargent was perfect for our needs.

"Chargent Payment Processing"

What do you like best?

The solution works. It processes credit cards and checks without any issue. The team was extremely helpful in providing changes/customizations we needed to make the tool work for us. They were timely and professional.

What do you dislike?

The system relys on values stored on the Opportunity to process the payment. This means that changing of the amount to charge or credit card requires an update to Salesforce before processing. I would much prefer the values be temporarily stored in the Visual Force page, iframe or such and process without updating any salesforce fields.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our existing processor in Salesforce was developed by us and was not PCI compliance. We chose to install the Changent process to become PCI compliance by removing all Credit Card and processing of such from Salesforce. The product accomplished this outcome and also provided us a solution for payment plan processing.

"Great product for capturing billing data in Salesforce"

What do you like best?

We really like Chargent because it allows us to have automated recurring billing right inside of Salesforce. It works as expected so no complaints

What do you dislike?

There is an issue with how it handles ACH payments (it doesn't update the status when an ACH ends up failing)

Automated monthly billing of customers. We don't have to duplicate Salesforce data in to our merchant services account, and we can see payment history right inside of Salesforce

"Great Order Application for Salesforce"

What do you like best?

Ease of Integration, flexibility and the ability to integrate with custom objects made this app a no brainer for our company. Their team was extremely helpful and attentive during and after launch.

What do you dislike?

A few more default processing companies would be nice, but it by no means limits the product.

Recommendations to others considering the product

This platform has everything you need for processing orders in Salesforce. We reviewed several products and most had limitation for objects and integration was spotty at best. Chargent really nailed it.

Efficiency. We have better reporting options that allow us to engage with our customers faster and with greater confidence.

Probably not the best question for us as we have found a pretty solid solution with Chargent. However, as we continue to navigate different options with them I'm sure we can find some constructive feedback.

It just works. And the way it is designed makes it highly adaptable to meet all our business needs.

Refunding transactions causes irregularities in our records. Some terminology not clear.

Our billing team was essentially working directly out of a Paypal account a few years and we made the decision to go to Salesforce and pick up Chargent to allow us to track and work our billing as a team.

Chargent makes this very easy and we have recently added payment request to allow customers to update billing themselves when a transaction fails or if their card expires. This has freed up a lot of time for our team.

"Good service"

What do you like best?

Chargent's integration with salesforce is great! We wouldn't be able to operate our partner and community portals without it. It integrates with all of the different gateways that we, and our partners use. the error logging is so so descriptive and complex, it definitely helps our development team troubleshoot ny errors that may come up from time to time with users making and receiving payments.

What do you dislike?

Additional transparency into our accounts would be great. we also had some problems when we first started using it, and it would be good to have a etter setup guide.

"Chargent - good functionality, a bit lacking in support"

What do you like best?

Chargent supports a wide variety of payment processors, so that works well for us. We can shop around and get the best rate without worrying about what our SF integration will work with. It also integrates well with Form Assembly.

What do you dislike?

Support is a bit lacking - Chargent only has one support staff, so if he's busy our out of hte office, you may be SOL. They also need to be better at updating customers on changes, etc.

Chargent is managing our recurring billing, and takes away the need for us to individually batch daily donations. The automatic batching and charging of donations is excellent and we really enjoy the ability to have some of our very busy day back!

What do you like best?

the fact that all you need to see can be shown on the opening page

What do you dislike?

you can't set up payments for varying amounts so the process can continue instead of doing a payment by count and having to go back in and reset amount... too time consuming and if you miss the task reminder the payment does not get transacted.

"Chargent makes credit card transaction easy in Salesforce"

What do you like best?

It is so simple to charge our customers right from a salesforce opportunity using chargent. It is simple to setup and use

What do you dislike?

I have not had any problems with chargent. If you email them a question they are always quick to respond.

There really isn't much about Chargent that I did like. Chargent is a difficult system to use and train on and easy to make errors that result in unauthorized charges.

The set-up and layout. The fact that it is so easy to create errors within the system

- Hard to debug if an issue is a gateway issue or a chargent issue: figure out what error codes mean (gateway responses)

Chargent brofides easy integration with many payment gateways like eway , stripe etc and it is very easy to install and configure.

Chargent has simplified our billing process immensely. We are able to complete our transactions much more efficiently.

I don't really have many dislikes with Chargent - they just came out with Lightning integration so as long as that works well, no dislikes

we enjoy that sales users can work in a single workspace to accomplish most tasks related to on boarding new business, namely collecting initial payment.

What do you dislike?

we are very satisfied with Chargent ... can not say anything negative

What do you like best?

I will have to say that they have great support. They are also very knowledgeable.

What do you dislike?

I think that making their object more versatile would be great. Such as using it on custom objects.

"Executed without issue in Salesforce"

What do you like best?

We were able to see everything we needed directly in Salesforce without any added confusion for all users

What do you dislike?

Just had some challenges with the learning curve but nothing major

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We needed an integration between our custom application and managing the charges to credit cards in our Salesforce org. We have been able to track all charges, reasons, and billing from SFDC now.

"Great App!"

What do you like best?

Easily connects to gateways, pre-built structure. It just requires login and password.

What do you dislike?

Inability of multiple pricebooks use in SF.

What do you like best?

Good integration with Salesforce, allows us to do what we want to do easily. Responsive customer support.

Still working out some of the recurring charges, will know more in a few months.

"Chargent Salesforce use"

What do you like best?

It helped to streamline our client onboarding process so that another process can live within our firms' Salesforce org.

What do you dislike?

The integration was heavy from the beginning and with our implementation with custom objects took quite a few tries to get properly set up.

"Great Solution for Linking Authorize.net and Salesforce"

What do you like best?

Setup is a breeze when using an existing gateway, i.e. Authorize.net

What do you dislike?

There are issues when using other 'outside the box' gateways. There were issues with the integration outside of Authorize.net and therefore challenges with testing and the trail can't be extended.

Increasing the efficiency of payment tracking and processing.

"Works great"

What do you like best?

Easy to install and assign to our users. No issues since we started using Chargent.

What do you dislike?

Not much to dislike. As mentioned, its an easy to install/setup product and easy to apply to our users.

Range of payment gateways that Chargent supports.

Nothing as such. May be there could expose more video on You Tube on how to use various functionality of Chargent.

What do you like best?

Integration with Salesforce and the customer service is excellent. Fair pricing for what is captured in this package.

"Great application but there's still room for improvement"

What do you like best?

Easy to use with simple UI. Also very easy to manage and maintain.

It is not perfect with FinancialForce SCM. Cannot tie a credit card from quote to invoice.
