What do you like best?
I love that I can see which pages users are currently viewing. It's like I'm a cyber-stalker for my own website. I don't know if there's another company like Chartbeat. If there is, I haven't heard of it. Where traffic is coming from as well as engaged time are both hugely-important to us, so it's great that those are both Chartbeat options. Plus, the UI is extremely easy to use. It's like one page. Can't get much clearer.
What do you dislike?
Social stats on the right side of the page are fine, but we don't really care about any of that since we do all of our social scheduling and monitoring through another tool. I do think that Chartbeat could do a little more for us. It's a super-simple interface (I'm not complaining--I'd rather it be simple than clunky and confusing), but it's just that--a really simple tool. Nothing mind-blowing or earth-shattering.
Recommendations to others considering the product
It's really simple. If you don't have a hugely-trafficked site, you probably don't have any use for it. You can probably reach your goals through Omniture or another tracking tool that doesn't give you real-time data.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
When we see that pages are spiking, we immediately promote on social to give them another boost. We've also tried to use the insights we're getting from Chartbeat to guide our daily editorial workflow, but since things are constantly changing, we don't rely too much on such a fluctuating tool.
