User-friendly software with personal assistance

What do you like best?

I like how easy it is to use the software. It speaks for itself, but it also has a great explanation guide. And when you still don't know how to get around, the team of CMNTY Platform is always available to answer your questions. Apart from that, the software itself is also really nice, it has a lot of cool features to ask your audience for information: challenge, chat, forum, questionnaire, stepboard, diary etc.

What do you dislike?

If you want something new implemented, it can take a while for CMNTY Platform to deliver and it's often quite expensive. I also miss a lot of insight into data about our users, their activity and newsletters. You can make Excel-exports, but I miss a tool that provides a clear overview. I also think it's a pity that CMNTY Platform doesn't create apps for their communities anymore.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you're not very experienced with web publishing, this tool is great for you. If you need to be able to show results in the form of data, maybe also look at other affordable options.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With our community software we are able to stay in contact with 300 Dutch millennials who provide us with important information: what they watch, how they use media and how RTL could improve the way she currently reaches them. With their feedback we can tweak our content and distribution of our content to their preferences.

Great product with excellent customer support

What do you like best?

Setting up a platform is very easy, since the settings are logical. A wide range of settings and different languages. Visually pleasing overall and the ability to change the design. Amazing customer support.

What do you dislike?

Not straightforward for users sometimes, navigation feels clunky in some modules. Notifications and security settings are not modifiable enough. Following user's activity is difficult. An ability to cancel your plan feels "hidden". The regular plan has some illogical language translations.

Recommendations to others considering the product

CMNTY provides a highly modifiable platform for your communities. It's both visually pleasing and engaging with different task modules. User management is done very well.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We've found a platform that can be set up whenever, with a price that fits us. Fits well for short-term projects.

Versatile software, good for building relationships with your audience (/gain insights).

What do you like best?

The platform offers a very user-friendly interface for both members as community managers. It's easy to access from different devices, and because of the social aspect (friendly look & feel, much space for interaction), it's natural for members to engage in conversations. It also offers several different modules, such as journal/log, forum, poll, questionnaire and chat, enabling us to offer our clients different ways of gathering insights, within one platform. The option to custom design some parts of the lay-out is an obvious advantage, and so is the possibility to run communities for three different languages within one platform. Exporting data is a piece of cake, and the data is easy to interpret. Questionnaire data graphs are automatically generated, and also easy to read and export and share (also in PDF format). Last but not least, communication between us and CMNTY is fast and pleasant.

What do you dislike?

The platform still requires quite a bit of hand-work. This can be time-consuming, but a bigger issue is that hand-work makes you more susceptible to error.

We would also like to see more analysts/researchers being involved in the development of the platform/modules. The questionnaire module is a good example of this. Logic, conditions, routing are limited and not very... logical :-). You can't set logic based upon previous answers, an option very common in for example free questionnaire programming software. Unfortunately, that means we have to come up with a work-around regularly. Randomization of pages within the questionnaire is also not possible, which is usually a necessity for concept research. In which case we simply cannot use this module for questionnaires of this nature. We believe that if the researchers who use questionnaires on a daily basis were consulted (more often), this may have looked different.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Many. We help our clients make decisions on many different levels by connecting them with their target group or a general audience. What design to go for and why? What product package appeals most? Which pay-off has most potential and why? We even do product tests by means of CMNTY. Basically: with CMNTY we get to answer many marketing and communications, product development and customer experience questions. And not just the which and the what, but also the why.

Good template to build your own research community

What do you like best?

Once you're used to the platform, it's reasonably easy to use.

What do you dislike?

Some aspects aren't intuitive initially and I would prefer to change some language tabs at various points.

easy to use for non-tech users

What do you like best?

gamification is a great feature. It's very user-friendly and a lot of member engagement features.

What do you dislike?

Clunky UI. Could be more modern. Wish there were more integrations.
