What do you like best?
I'm giving 2 stars because if you want an email list as a hobby, ConvertKit will work for you! As long as you don't hope to make money, you're all set.
I like that they integrate with LeadPages, zapier, samcart, etc. LeadPages, Zapier and SamCart are incredible!!
You can easily create popups with Leadpages and zapier can connect something like SamCart and Kajabi if you need. SamCart is an easy checkout solution and converts really well.
What do you dislike?
So many technical issues. At the moment, I have a list of 13,000 and run a 6 figure business. I had no clue that I could be running a multiple 6 figure business had I quit ConvertKit earlier! So that's good news.
The best is yet to come.
Emails from potential customers saying they never received emails, downloads, etc.
If it was reliable, it would be great. I guess if this was a hobby and I didn't want to make money, it'd work.
Well, that and if the customer service was better. At the end of working with them, you'll probably get a good laugh when you didn't get helped in chat support (they have so many bugs and technical issues). But the funny thing is that you get an email that says "Convertkit success" and that makes me laugh out loud. Haha! So it's not entirely negative... you do laugh occasionally.
Recommendations to others considering the product
I did a ton of research because I didn't want to lose thousands of dollars again. So here are the companies I'd recommend if you want to make money with email marketing...
1) infusionsoft — hands-down the best. ever.
2) ClickFunnels — close second for me with how easy it is to use
3) ActiveCampaign — didn't use, but it's highly recommended
4) Drip — didn't use but it's highly recommended
5) MailChimp is a great free resource but you have to pay for free download delivery. Worth it, but something to know.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Great question! You do have to solve all your problems on your own with CK. Customer support is mostly there to tell you that there's a bug or they don't know why that's happening.
The benefit came once I realize their forms weren't consistently working and their sequences weren't delivering.
Oh! almost forgot... if you accidentally get overcharged for your subscribers and you don't catch it right away then they wont refund it. I lost a few hundred dollars that way so just a heads up.
