"Great Content for Creatives"

What do you like best?

I love how many different classes that Creative Live offers. They bring in big name professionals that are personable and have no problem sharing their wealth of information with people who are willing to learn.

What do you dislike?

The only thing that I personally don't like about it is that there is some adult material (creative nude posing/boudoir posing) that is available to anyone who is logged in to their account. I think that while it is still an art form, there should be some filtering available.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I think this site is perfect for anyone looking to increase their knowledge of any creative product or to learn new skills.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I currently use this to increase my knowledge of photography and lighting for my photography business. I find that they are using the current trends which helps me connect with what clients would want.

"Disappointing."

What do you like best?

CreativeLive literally offers courses for anyone interested in expanding their creativity and unleashing their full potential as artists, photographers, entrepreneurs, business professionals, musicians or craftsmen. Moreover, individuals who aren't prepared to commit financially to a course can watch live, free workshops from professionals all over the globe.

What do you dislike?

CreativeLive charges students per class, rather than per month. While this may benefit those who are looking to target a specific topic, this may be ideal; however, with classes starting at more than $20, taking multiple classes can get pretty pricy. Because CreativeLive charges by the class, rather than a monthly subscription, they offer no refunds on paid classes.

Recommendations to others considering the product

CreativeLive could improve in three major ways:

1. Offer some type of subscription service for customers to gain greater access for less money.

2. Provide some type of refund for that service should customers not find courses satisfactory.

3. Create more accessible customer support channels for customers facing issues with the service.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Training at a low cost.

"A great site for online creative courses"

What do you like best?

A large selection of courses mainly in subject related to photography. Courses are free to watch while they are streamed live and you can also interact with the viewers or ask the lecturer questions.

Quality of the courses I've watched was high and the pace is easy to follow.

You have the ability to purchase courses to be able to re-watch at your own time, they have many sales, so the price is reasonable.

Courses are for all levels of users, but as a beginner, I've learnt a lot from them.

You can RSVP for future courses and be reminded when they are live.

What do you dislike?

Since they are based on the west coast of the USA course hours are not suited for people in other parts of the world if you want to watch the live stream (however, they do stream it in a loop for a day of so, but there is no interaction with viewers/lecturer)

Some courses were not as good as the majority, mainly due to the lecturer and not the material.

No app for android, but you can still watch it on mobile (they do have an iOS app)

Recommendations to others considering the product

Watch a few courses on subjects that interests you, it is free and no need to register for casual viewing

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Great for someone who it beginning in photography.

You can watch for free, so no reason not to try, you can purchase if you need to rewatch at your own pace.

"Want to learn something new? This is the go-to place to jump start a new skill. "

What do you like best?

The variety of courses and different categories of skills is something that is pretty impressive. Aside from the known speakers, it's a very good place to learn more about your favorite mentors and how they work.

What do you dislike?

Some courses don't really teach you anything. It's a lot of talking and no substance, no takeaway you can put into practice. Some courses are worth their purchase while others are better off just searching for videos on Youtube.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Really evaluate whether you need a specific course before buying it. Some courses are put on sale regularly and will avoid you from getting ripped off for a course that doesn't really teach you anything.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Not knowing certain skills or certain tools and being able to log in and learn something new in a couple of minutes.

"A Great Place To Learn"

What do you like best?

I love that they offer affordable online classes. Once you purchase a course it is yours to keep. They also offer a variety of classes.

What do you dislike?

I don't really know if there is anything, in particular, I dislike about it. It is reasonably priced and available right away.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you want to learn how to take better photos, edit photos and videos, or all around just want to hone your creative craft, this is a great place to look into. Courses can start at $21.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Working at a church we get a lot of volunteers who want to be apart of different creative teams, including photography, videography, marketing, and creative development. These courses allow us to train even the most amateur volunteers on how to do a great job!

"Amazing learning tool for Photographers!"

What do you like best?

I love CreativeLive because you get access to free videos! You have to watch it live in order to get them free, but they will replay it all day long so you have more than just one chance to watch.

What do you dislike?

I don't like how expensive their classes are if you want to get the bonus materials or if you want to watch it anytime you want.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you watch LIVE, you get to watch for free! They will replay the content all day so you get more than one chance to watch the days videos. If you purchase a class, the get the bonus content and you can watch the videos any time you want, pause, skip around, whatever. There are so many videos to learn from!

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I have a photography business and I have learned so much from CreativeLive! There are usually around 6 live videos per day, so there's just so much to learn all the time. I have actually purchased one class from here and it is very helpful to be able to pause and go back to the content whenever I want. These videos aren't just quick little filler videos that don't teach you anything, there are usually 6+ hours of video to watch! You get to watch the instructor actually do live photo shoots so you can see how everything they teach is implemented. It has really made me a stronger photographer and helped me with my business.

"Creative Live is the best!"

What do you like best?

The variety is great! So many different types of classes on many different topics with a range of pricing. I feel like I can always find what I'm looking for and find new things I'm interested in. There's also several channels with various live free content streaming all the time, so many times I can watch something for free. The classes are usually very comprehensive, hands on and really beneficial. They also have sales almost all the time.

What do you dislike?

Some of the more in depth classes are priced fairly high and out of my price range.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Creative Live has been a convenient, easy and affordable way for me to get some professional development and learn something specific I need for my business.

"Amazing Content at Reasonable Prices"

What do you like best?

My favorite part of Creative Live is the ability to watch content for free. This is amazingly useful for new and small businesses who do not have the budget to buy every class. Additionally, the classes are so in depth and cover to much material. Very well organized. And finally, having an audience that can ask questions (both in studio and online) is another great aspect to using Creative Live for education.

What do you dislike?

I feel like there have been less classes on Photography, and that's my main focus, but I do find the variety good as well.

Recommendations to others considering the product

The topics of classes has definitely increased in variety which is a great thing, however I'd love to see more Photography business classes from different types of photographres (ie, Lifestyle, Documentary, Stock, Commercial).

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I've learned so many ins and outs of running a business, which has significantly cut down on the amount of time I have to spend scouring the internet for information that might help me start and run a successful business.

"I use it for art based classes that I don't find on skillshare"

What do you like best?

It probably has the best selection of classes out of any of these types of sites. The teachers are great, the classes are really high quality and diverse.

What do you dislike?

The price. I also dislike that whereas skillshare has an ever-present selection of free classes, creative live offers 'live' free classes which means that you have to happen upon a class that you want to take if you aren't looking to be subscribed.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It is so great, so if you have the budget, definitely choose this site. If you are hesitant, check out free trials on sites like skill share before committing to creative live. Make sure that you'll get use out of it before paying the full price. If you are a creative mind, this site has endless classes for you.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Just self-betterment, nothing for business.

"A great source for photography courses"

What do you like best?

I've found about CreativeLive about a year ago and it became my main source for photography learning. While CreativeLive offers courses on many subjects, their main focus is on photography and Photoshop. The courses are very in-depth and the instructors are among the best I've seen on any training site (I've used Lynda and Kelby before.)

The courses are free to watch when they are live and you can also purchase them if you like to rewatch at your own pace (you also get extra PDFs with some courses).

Most courses are between 1 and 3 days long, but a few times a year they have a "photo week" or "photoshop week" which is 5 days of short lectures (1-2 hours) given by top photographers and Photoshop experts ( a "photo week" took place just last week).

I highly recommend the course "fundamentals of photography" by John Greengo, mostly for beginners, and pretty much any Photoshop course by Ben Willmore.

CreativeLive have classes for all levels of users and the ability to interact (on live classes only) is a unique feature that can be helpful for many. (if you are in the Seattle area, you can join the in-studio audience for an even better learning experience.

What do you dislike?

i'm a big fan of CreativeLive, and not much negative I can think of. however, I did warch a few development related courses and for me they weren't as good as the photography ones.

Another thing I've noticed in some courses is that the instructors seems to try to sell themselves or their work a bit too much which made it uncomfortable to watch at times.

Recommendations to others considering the product

great courses, free to watch.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Getting the basics and more advanced topics for beginning a photography business.

"Positive experience with CreativeLive"

What do you like best?

I love the fact that I can get access to the best of the best in whichever field you want to improve in. I'm in the photography field and have been able to learn from some of my favorite photographers.

What do you dislike?

I'd say the downside is that the classes take place during work hours, but I know there's a rebroadcast that I can catch most of once I'm off work.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The main benefit is obviously just gaining more knowledge and skills to grow. A lot of what I know in the photography field now is because of what I've learned from the teachers on Creative Live.

"CreativeLive a great source for creative pros"

What do you like best?

CreativeLive is a unique online learning service in which the courses are taking place live with both studio audience and online viewers. The online audience can interact with the instructor and ask questions live via chat. The chat feature also allows you to interact with other viewers (either about the topic being learnt or in an off-topic chat room).

CreativeLive started as mostly photography centered with a single course over the weekend, and slowly grew and now offers many courses in a variety of subjects such as photo editing, design, music and self improvement.

The courses are free to watch when they are live and they are also re-broadcasted after the course is finished (of course no live questions via the chat during re-broadcast)

You can buy a course which gets you access to the course's video at any time and the course material (many courses have PDFs with summary and additional information)

Courses lengths vary and can be a single day, few days and even a month. Sometimes they hold a Photo-week or Photoshop-week during that week CreativeLive gathers an impressive collection of lecturers, many top of their field, each giving a short course in their area of expertise.

Course's price is dependent on its length, and are reasonable (there is usually a reduced price if you buy it before the course ends)

What do you dislike?

Not much to dislike about CreativeLive, it sometimes can be difficult to get your question answered on popular courses, but the moderators do their best and try to get the frequently asked questions answered (in some cases another viewer may answer your question in chat)

Courses hours are daytime in the west coast of USA which may not be optimal for viewers in other countries.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Many courses to choose from, for all levels, try one of the live courses (free) and see if they style of teaching works for you.

Some courses are really in depth, and even if you think you are familiar with the course subject you end up learning new things.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I've been following photography their courses for few years now and I feel it got me a better photographer.

The ability to ask questions during the course is a unique selling point for me, which is usually only possible in 'offline' courses.

"Great way to get new skills"

What do you like best?

Lot's of great subjects with well-known instructors. I like that it is both live and there is a self-paced option also.

What do you dislike?

Can't think of anything not to like about it.

Recommendations to others considering the product

When you need to learn new skills and don't have access or time for a weekly or in person class or workshop, then this is for you! Great content and worth every penny.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I took a pitch class, money management class, and business plan and startup class. They all helped a great deal and I use what I learned almost every day. Very valuable.

"CreativeLive Review"

What do you like best?

The website is very aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate. You can pick which category you want to study and go from there.

What do you dislike?

They should add a technology section to their list of categories. Technology can be used in a lot of ways to foster creative/artistic ideas, which goes along with their brand.

Recommendations to others considering the product

You might as well try it out! Classes that are less than $30 are still really informative and something fun and productive to do on the weekend or when you have free time.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I've had buffering issues before, but nothing that wasn't resolved quickly.
