DocuSign Saves Time

What do you like best?

With DocuSign you not only save time signing a document for someone, or being the recipient of an executed document, you also save the need for printing, therefore saving paper, toner and the need for a printer/wear and tear on a printer.

You can sign a document in minutes, sometimes seconds. You don't have to scan and email back the document, or post a hard copy to complete this process; DocuSign allows you to set up exactly who and how you want documents signed and then automatically delivers.

DocuSign isn't restricted to simply signing documents. You can send forms or documents to bulk recipients, saving more time and it can also be used for data collection.

Receiving a completed document in pdf format and having the security of the auto deletion off remote servers you can be assured your content is secure.

The mobile apps adds speed, mobility/flexibility to getting mundane tasks off your to-do list.

What do you dislike?

What's there to dislike??

Ok, sometimes having to take the time to convince others to get out of the dark ages and get on board with DocuSign - that it is legal and as official as planting your signature on a page.

Recommendations to others considering the product

use it for more than simply signatures!

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

Speed, time, money, maintenance. Fast, effective and efficient.

Better than it was, still not amazing

What do you like best?

They have a Salesforce integration, and the fact that clients can e-sign documents. For all intents and purposes it appears that Support is US based.

What do you dislike?

The UI is very confusing to create a template. I have the same few documents I use all the time, but their templates are not templates for signatures, they are merely placeholders of text. The process to make it "sign-able" has to be redone for each new document you send out. Salesforce Integration is one way, and not conducive to Sales reps who want convenience and quickness.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If DocuSign is your only option, it does get the job done. If you are in a decision making role, or influencer role, I'd encourage you to find something more convenient for your sales reps who are the ones that drive business.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

Allow clients to e-sign documents without a need to fax/email them back. The product does what it is suppose to do over all, so it's not all bad, however, knowing this is a competitive space, I imagined UI would be better since other companies are better already.

DocuSign simplifies the contract process

What do you like best?

DocuSign is incredibly easy to set up and to use. Previously we would have to print a contract, sign it, scan it, and then email it to the other party as well as file the copy. With DocuSign this process was completely streamlined. This has also helped our sales reps be more productive by spending less time shepherding contracts through to final signature. With DocuSign this process has been automated and allows the sales reps to spend less time on administrative items.

What do you dislike?

There are still some companies (and government agencies) that will still only accept paper copies even though those "paper" copies are actually scanned copies of the agreement.

Recommendations to others considering the product

When evaluating DocuSign think about opportunities to use it besides just the contracting process. There are many areas that we have discovered that have benefitted from implementing DocuSign outside of our original area of focus which was customer contracts.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

The main problem we were able to solve involved executing contracts with our customers but we have also been able to use DocuSign in HR for onboarding new employees and in other departments as well. As mentioned above, DocuSign has freed up the sales reps the time and allows them to focus on more productive activities.

Strong Product with a Lot of Work Needed

What do you like best?

DocuSign is easy to use and has a simple UI. It's easy to get up and running as an individual user. This is perfect for real estate agents and other small business users.

It also integrates easily with Salesforce and other systems. I deployed an e-signature solution for a large medical device retailer, and it was fairly painless.

What do you dislike?

Its search functionality is terrible. I mean really bad. I cannot search by envelope ID, which is the fundamental identification number of a DocuSign transaction. I cannot search for documents by the data contained inside of them.

Template management and construction is a bit limited. Your document is basically a background image upon which you float fields. This makes aligning fields with background text difficult and unreliable.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Really study your intended user. Strange as it may seem, not all users like to e-sign.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

We wanted to allow physicians to prescribe therapy for our products electronically, as well as obtain follow-up insurance documentation for claims. The e-prescription feature has been a disappointment, as doctors still really really like to fax things. The insurance follow-up has been a resounding success, where we went from 50 percent success rate obtaining signed follow up documents, to almost 90 percent success rate.

Great for most orgs - but wish it had more flexibility out of the box!

What do you like best?

DocuSign as a whole is awesome, especially if your company uses Salesforce. It has all the tools you'd expect out of the box. An org I worked with wanted to use it to send quotes from Salesforce, and DocuSign let us do this is a simple way. Another bonus of DocuSign is the UI in Salesforce is very modern, especially compared to other popular e-signature products on the platform.

What do you dislike?

Flexibility: DocuSign does the very standard use cases very well but once you get outside of that you're going to run into issues. For example, there's no way to choose a default document or contact to associate with a DocuSign envelope you're sending - users have to manually choose them.

Marketing: everything you do will be branded by DocuSign and it's a lot of work to remove it. Some things can't even be changed, for example, if you don't want your emails to say "Sent from DocuSign". I know other vendors are able to completely remove branding from your envelopes.

Admin capabilities: from an admin perspective, managing DocuSign can be painful. There's no automatic user integration so every new user needs to be set up from scratch!

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure to have your technical team review the product as well! There is an API to do a lot of things but out of the box it is limited

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

We wanted to use DocuSign to simply send quotes to customers. It wasn't easy setting it up (for many of the above customization reasons), but, finally it was possible.

The good news is the UI is beautiful!
