"Great option for backing up important documents"

What do you like best?

I like how simple it is to get the backup going. It can be set automatically so you setup which files you want to backup and it will automatically backup at whatever time interval you choose. I also like that you can be anywhere in the world and backup, as long you set the types of internet connections you allow for the actual backup.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes it lags so it uses up a lot of RAM so the fan on my laptop gets super loud. So if I am working on something important, I usually pause it and wait for a time that my CPU usage is at a minimum to backup. Also, sometimes it takes too long to actually collect the user data to start the backup, so that definitely needs work.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure you choose your file folders carefully because you don't want to backup things that aren't necessary. This will cause the backup to take much longer than it needs to be. Also, schedule the backup to when you feel you use the computer the least, so to ensure the backup process goes as quick as possible. In addition, internet connection and quality plays a big role in the success of the backup process. Make sure you are connected to a secure connection that has good quality connection.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I believe it solves the problem of having to store files on external drives, then having to carry those drives around. There are times you don't have the external hard drive with you so you cannot access a specific file. This way, everything is backed up so you know you can access the file from wherever you are in the world.

"Durva inSync - Cloud Data Protection"

What do you like best?

Druva is a suite that comprises of two principle items: inSync and Phoenix. Them two are intended to give mobile data protection and backup. It implies that for organizations that keep running on mobile gadgets, the product can deal with data misfortune issues because of gadget breaking down or some other random reasons. As an end client, you likewise get self-rebuilding office with the goal that you don't need to depend totally on the help group at Druva constantly

What do you dislike?

AWS storage recovery model is not well supported with Durva . Also the user Interface is not so intuitive , so they have to work on it . It takes time to actually collect the user data to start the backup sometimes .

Recommendations to others considering the product

Each organization has distinctive needs and needs a framework that can be altered for their size, sort of representatives and customers, and the particular business they are in. Consequently, no product can proffer ideal usefulness off-the-rack.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We utilize it to plan our backups according to your practicality. In the event that we wish to stop them at that point there are choices accessible for that as well. We can overhaul bandwidth too. On the off chance that our gadget does not check in inside an assigned time, the remote wipe is begun consequently. It anchors our data from going into the wrong hands.

"A Silent Partner"

What do you like best?

Our company has recently started using Druva and it has definitely added a piece of mind. I have always carried around a thumb drive, backing up to it whenever I remember to, and knowing we now have everything important updated to a cloud based back up daily gives a sense of security for our data. The software is straightforward, easy to use and is configurable and managed by our IT department.

What do you dislike?

So far nothing to dislike has arisen, software works as expected and does a good job.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

In a digital age filled with soft data and ever changing laws/requirements, having everything backed up is the best way to go. This software provides a simple solution that gives peace of mind and security.

"Efficient, technological and intuitive"

What do you like best?

I like the work that has been done on the new version since the 5.5, we now have a reliable tool compared to the 5.1

The MAPI part has been improved is now stable even with MS Office 2016.

The administration interface was redesigned with pragmatism.

The user support is always listening to help on IT projects, it is reassuring for the management of risks

The deduplication system is very efficient

What do you dislike?

It is not possible to customize the reports, it is nevertheless an option that was announced for version 5.8.1.

There is a difference between a fromscratch installation and an update (from version 5.4 to 5.8 for example).

Especially on the location of the InSync folders, this is a real problem for managing incidents.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It is important to open a real project to study the need of your business. Notably on the choice of infrastructure. The location of the nodes and the installation via SCCM with activation by Token. Once the installation is in place, there is very little functional administration. Thanks to deduplication, the volume of data will take up less space. For example we use 67 TB for 152 TB saved, ie a deduplication of 55%

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Avoiding loss of data is the main business problem solved, there is also the possibility for users to access their data remotely through the WEB interface which gives a real benefit

"Druva inSync allows my mobile users to be truly mobile"

What do you like best?

Druva's backup client is easy to deploy and through profiles on the admin console it is also easy to specify the data you want to backup. The key to this though is the ability for users to recover their own data, this prevents a call to IT and decreases the user's non-productive time. It also allows you as an admin to have complete assurance that these backups are occurring through the reporting features.

What do you dislike?

I have not found anything about this product that I overtly dislike yet.

Recommendations to others considering the product

This is one of the top products out there now in this space. If you are trying to find a way to make people more mobile and still be protected, this is it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Druva allows my mobile users to store data on the local harddrives of their laptops so access is fast and available no matter where they are. Then that data is periodically backed up whenever the user has access to the internet so if something were to happen to the machine or the data, we have a way to get it back. The PC migration is also excellent. Bring over all your user's files and settings to a new PC regardless of OS.

"Seamless installation and great technical support"

What do you like best?

We looked at several backup companies but decided Druva was the most cost effective solution. I deployed the inSync client all over the world. From the US and Europe to China and Japan our users were backing up their data in no time. Restoring files or whole laptops the process is easy and takes very little IT management. Highly recommend them.

What do you dislike?

There’s not much to dislike about the product. Our only major issue was a Microsoft update that made logging off a computer slow. Np fault of Druva and the had a work-a-round.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Restoring files or whole laptops the process is easy and takes very little IT management

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Having our Sales staff finally backing up their laptops was very big for us. The ability to retrieve data from ex-employees is also nice. It also helps our service desk refresh a corrupted computer a lot faster.

"Excessive Backup solution software"

What do you like best?

Best in Druva inSync on premise is Outlook MAPI Backup and all the Client backup is safe in a place where no Virus\Malware is entered. Seamless backup and restore which can user can do by it-self. Especially to talk about Governance is the great feature to analyse the what files are exactly backing and how much they occupy, Deduplication is the best in it as we can do. 1:2 ratio. I can say it proud my organisation is 0% downtime on Userdata availability.

What do you dislike?

This is bit and sad to write but the reporting features has be to improved or flexible. InSync Should allow Administrators to create reporting according to their way of reporting, like querying the application to gather few information.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Client Data backup and restore from anywhere. 0% downtime of data availability.

"Adam's Druva review for Build Group"

What do you like best?

The easy management through the centralized web console is really nice. Also, the alert emails for any missed backups or errors.

What do you dislike?

Honestly, there's nothing I really dislike about this product. It's very easy to use and has saved us several times when we had laptops stolen.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I highly recommend trying this out for an off-site backup solution. We use this along with their Phoenix product to cover the server end. Couldn't be happier with either product, great support when needed as well.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We're a construction company, so we have users with laptops all over the place. Having a centralized management console to track all backups is great and all the end users need is an Internet connection.

"Druva inSync is a winner!"

What do you like best?

Manageability of this product is so easy. I love the interface and the is very straight forward to making changes. setting up users, deploying via GPO, making changes after the deployment, Mac support using Windows wildcards. I also love that we can put users on hold and have the license recaptured. another great feature is that we can get super fast backups as the system does an amazing job at de-dupe and compression. the system also backs up user state, so icon placement user background etc can be easily restored when upgrading a users computer. 9/10

What do you dislike?

undo changes would be nice, drag and drop and also being able to copy profiles. I would also like to see a way to share sub level folders with different permissions over the parent.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Contact their sales team and get a demo installed. this product has what you are looking for and the support is VERY responsive should you run into an issue.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

sync to cloud for our remote and corporate users as well as share between users. super easy and even though we are only a few months into it, the product has a super comfortable feel to it. when we have had to go back and do restores, even user-state restores the process is simple and fast. This product is a winner.

"Great Product"

What do you like best?

I like that we now do not have to worry about end users losing their data if they suffer from a catastrophic hardware failure.

What do you dislike?

I wish that when migrating users over to a new computer that the first time you open Druva, that it would automatically log in with the logged in user and authenticate against AD instead of having to enter in their email and password manually.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our two primary purposes for Druva was to secure end user data and to use it for migration purposes when we upgrade or replace their workstations. Albeit a small benefit, Druva migrates over a lot of custom settings that the end user has set.

"Druva inSync Cloud - Set It and Fortget"

What do you like best?

Once the product has been deployed, maintenance and administration is very easy. All can administrative tasks (configuration changes, upgrades) can be done centrally through the administrative console.

Email alerting for possible issues (no backup for x days, configuration errors) can be sent to both administrators and end users.

PST backup that allows for block level backup of large pst files rather than the entire pst blob.

Block level backup, so only changed file blocks are sent over the network rather than the entire file.

Stored file dedupe and compression have been great. Are total client backup set is just over 19TB, however we are using 3TB of space as part of our SaaS license.

What do you dislike?

The product can be temperamental to using bandwidth shaping technologies (we had issues with Fortinet traffic shaping). The product frequently "checks-in" with the administrative console, and if these packets are lost or delayed the client will be considered offline. We have resolved the issue early on in our deployment through whitelisting and remove all traffic associated with the InSync Cloud.

Initial deployment was a bit tedious due to using particular script generation, however this has been resolved through InSync's AD mapping product.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure to consider backup windows with the total amount of users that will be backing up during a period of time. Multiple clients (especially on initial backup) will attempt to send data using as much upstream bandwidth as you allocate.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

End point system backup across all end user systems.

We have a number of systems that are predominantly remote and do not connect to the corporate network. Having backup on these systems has allowed us to rapidly recover from both hardware, and software related issues.

"Review of our Druva inSync Cloud deployment"

What do you like best?

Druva is easy to deploy if you use GPO rules or SCCM, we even were able to use Munki for our Mac users. It was fairly easy to lock the installer down to only mass deployment installations using a generated token. We used the cloud version and so didn't have to worry about setting up onsite storage even with users who had several GB of data we didn't need to restrict what could be backed up.

What do you dislike?

We're an international company with users all over. In order to setup AD mapping we needed to create several profiles for each country we have users in and there's no way to clone previous profiles even though they'd be the same except for the location. The AD mapping is also very limited, you can only match on country and department. Because we have a few different backup profiles based on department we ended up needed to create some PowerShell tools that update the security group because we just have too many discrete departments.

Recommendations to others considering the product

With a few tweaks you can completely automate on boarding and off boarding of users, make sure you put as much of that in place from the beginning.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Were able to deploy the backup solution worldwide for the first time and have it be almost completely automated from on boarding to off boarding.

"Set it, Deploy it, Forget it"

What do you like best?

Simple integration into your existing single computer or entire enterprise of computers.

Fast, low impact backups and restorations.

Easy to use but powerful portal with detailed information that is easily navigated through.

The ability to have a local cloud cache or be entirely cloud based.

The ability to not have it upload on certain networks; E.G. when on cellular hotspots.

What do you dislike?

No ability to view/browse files of a backup without restoring the entire backup.

Lots of false alarms about systems not backing up/being out of compliance when a computer comes back online after a while of being offline and performs it's updates/backup routine.

As an IT Support Specialist logging into machines throughout the company and having it create a user profile for me on every machine I touch and then having to remove that machine from my profile in the portal is cumbersome.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Regardless of whether you are a single user at home, a small business or a large corporation this software has the power and versatility the keep your data safe, and current. The on-site cloud cache is great for large businesses with lots of dating going in and coming out, but even the cloud only side of things is incredibly fast and very low impact on your system/bandwidth.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Being able to recover files from a damaged/lost system or from a previous employee whose computer has been repurposed to another user.

Having the local cache has greatly improved the speed in which we are able to backup/recover files

The built in asset management/tracking is a nice bonus, but has not yet been something we've had to actually use.

Gives an insight into users who are not on their computers much, or are not in areas with internet connectivity.

"InSync Cloud deployment - simple but effective"

What do you like best?

It's a "set it and forget it" product - users don't even realize it's on the machine but we have the comfort of knowing that their data is protected.

What do you dislike?

I'm not sure that there is anything we dislike about the product at this point. Perhaps our only complaint would be cost but then again the cost of the InSync product is in line with most other enterprise endpoint backup solutions.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Utilize a VAR to get a better price.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Many of our employees are road warriors or remote workers and many work in harsh conditions (North Dakota oil fields). Using Druva InSync Cloud we can maintain backups of endpoints no matter where they are, regardless of whether or not the are connected to our network and know that we're protected if they have a hardware issue. An endpoint backup solution was a requirement of our management team, it could have been a challenge considering we have a very small IT team, however utilizing InSync cloud enabled us to quickly spin up a solution and start backing up endpoints, thus meeting the requirements provided to us.

"The Past 6 Months with Druva Insync"

What do you like best?

Its very easy to configure, the learning curve for anyone new to the software is minimal.

The backups are very fast and you never notice a decrease in machine performance when they are running.

The maintenance of the software is very minimal.

The inSync share is a very easy way for users to share data with others, the password requirement is a very nice feature too.

When a user gets a new machine you simply backup the old, restore to the new and it takes less than 10 mins for most users, this is a phenomenal time saver.

Overall we are very impressed with Druva, even the reps are friendly and helpful. It has helped on more than one occasion to avoid data loss or a slow recovery.

What do you dislike?

The only feature that we dislike currently is that the on-premise version of inSync gets updated much later than the cloud based version.

Having to wait so long for the new features can be frustrating but it is a very minimal complaint in the grand scheme of things

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The main benefit for us is the time to setup new machines, Under 10 mins from the time we receive the old machine until the data is restored and fully working.

We also have many traveling users so making sure we always have a backup of their data for when machines get broken saves so many problems down the line.

We have found when data corrupts on a hard drive it is not an issue either, you simple........restore to a new HDD/SSD its that simple and easy.

"Non-obtrusive Backup Solution"

What do you like best?

Digital backup solutions can be annoying and hard to set up. Luckily, my company uses Druva inSync which makes everything seamless and non-obtrusive to the end user. I'm using this program on a Windows 7 device and it runs in the task manager. It will subtly notify me when a backup has started. Otherwise, I don't even know it's there.

Luckily, I haven't had any data loss so I haven't had to actually use the program for data recovery. But based on other reviews of this product, it sounds like my data will be secure and available if that were to happen.

What do you dislike?

Like with any backup solution out there, it uses system resources. Sometimes if I have many applications open and inSync starts a backup, my computer will slow down to a crawl. Unfortunately there isn't much I can do about this since my company requires regular backups.

Recommendations to others considering the product

From a company standpoint, it seems that it is fairly simple to rollout inSync on a Windows-based OS install. I'd recommend giving it a try.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It has given me the peace of mind of having my files secured and backed up to the cloud. If I were to have any issue with my computer, any important files I would be able to recover using inSync.

"Great backup solution, easy to manage/integrate. "

What do you like best?

I like the integration with AD and the ability to map using profiles. The profiles allow you to map using OUs and select different server locations (for different GEOs) for better up/down speeds.

What do you dislike?

The interface can be confusing, and AD mapping is not always straight forward. However once you get past the learning curve, things become substantially easier.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Take the time to create an infrastructure using AD Mappings. It will make adding new users significantly easier, especially when adding users in different geological locations.

"Best product for the job"

What do you like best?

Druva is a very simple system for users to use, very intuitive and has a great user interface. That our users find it easy to use makes them more likely to self-serve than raise a request for assistance in restoring files.

The Central administration web-portal gives us a quick and simple status overview of the system, and the central logs and reports allow us to identify and troubleshoot any issues quickly and easily.

What do you dislike?

Some of the most exciting features are paid-for extras, but that isn't surprising - Sharefile could be a competitor for Drop-Box!

User initiated restores are scheduled, but if it doesn't restore immediately users tend to call the Help Desk as there is no indication of activity or ETA for restores to be completed

Recommendations to others considering the product

If considering On-Premise solution, ask for details as to what can be accessible externally through the Edge connectors, not all services or products can work off-network at present. The Cloud solution would be a better choice if those are concerns to you. We could not select that due to EU data protection considerations.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our main issue was to have a reliable end point backup solution, with central management and reporting. Druva accomplishes this and much more.

We can dynamically change the backup settings, not only for WHAT is being backed up, but also for use of CPU, etc. Everything is automatic, even the warnings for those who have not connected to the network recently. Also, we back up to an on-premise storage so we can be sure the data is not getting away from us.

What do you dislike?

Some confusion over setup of backup groups

Recommendations to others considering the product

Envision uses that even Druva has not thought about.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are currently experimenting with using Insync share to create custom folders of data relating to employee clients which can be shared to individual employees and altered 'on the fly' as client loads shift or clients leave the service. This use will reduce PII risk and keep our employee machines clear of unneeded files.

"Druva InSync - The great problem solver."

What do you like best?

My key take on InSync is it's ability to solve different issues for different people. My position is one of helping end users and VAR's to solve problems and fill gaps in their existing mobility strategy. Mobility is the most leading edge of all the access points and also the most unruly.

What do you dislike?

The only real issue with InSync is that it has such a great reputation as a backup product many are not aware of the new features and benefits, things like Pro-active compliance for example.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Do a proof of concept install, engage with Druva Support and Professional Services to get the best experience.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With Mobility growing rapidly the problems are many and users are well ahead of the take up curve, as IT professionals we must ensure we catch up to ensure security. We have BYOD, Shadow IT, users setting up their own devices and access paths. All this is great from a productivity point of view but traditional IT has little to no control or visibility in some cases. Druva InSync fills the gaps dependent on the problem, for some the problem is just making sure the data is backed up and restore-able, for others a more controlled and secure way to collaborate and share data across teams and even outside the organisation. Compliance and Data governance is a real issue for many but many have no solution for mobile devices, and finally the ability to track and remote wipe corporate data on both BYOD and corporate mobile devices is key. Of course you combine 2-3 or all of these and you have a very complete mobility security, collaboration, compliance and governance strategy.

"inSync - Simple to use and reliable"

What do you like best?

The main reason my company chose inSync was because our current product went end of life. The rollout of the client is very easy, the users will not even know when it's installed. Gives the users the ability to determine what data is to be backed up and what is not. From the Administrators side, the dashboard gives them all they need to see to accomplish their responsibilities. Also, Druva is interested is the user feedback, what's not working, what enhancements will make the product better, etc...

What do you dislike?

So far, everything is working as expected. The next admin client will bring more features to the dashboard.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Do a POC to see if the product meets your needs. Once you find that it does, consider the other products that Druva is offering. The others just fall into place.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Data loss - Prior to having a backup solution, when a computer crashed, the data on the local computer was lost. Some users were backup up their machines to our storage systems, some were not. By having inSync running, the users are mostly confident that they have their data available in the event their system crashes, malware, loss of machine, etc... The backup also spends up the rebuild time when rebuilding a machine or issuing a new machine to a user.

"Druva will do everything, minus what Apple allows them to."

What do you like best?

Beautiful GUI and easy to use system. Customer Support was extremely helpful!

What do you dislike?

If a user lose a phone and has not opened Druva in the past few hours/days. The location report will be off. I made a video of my concern. https://youtu.be/m7HBbGiv5Tw

Recommendations to others considering the product

I would make sure individuals know that this product does NOT backup the device, unless the app is running in the fourground. If a user has not opened the app in the past hour/etc it will not update the devices location.

"inSync Review from lead engineer"

What do you like best?

I love inSync is able to backup our laptops very easily. It means backup operations finish in a short time because of de-duplication. And now we can backup SaaS apps like Office 365. That is great helps for us.

What do you dislike?

inSync has limited reports only. Competitors like box are able to report richer. And unfortunately, on-premise servers are not especially good. Master server doesn't have redundancy, edge servers can't use load balancer like F5, and storage node might be bottle neck.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We realize inSync can prevent our shadow IT. Users need cloud storage such as dropbox. However, using dropbox might have data loss. inSync provides good shared storage solutions with data loss prevention, because inSync can wipe data remotely and prevent to open other apps on iPhone.

"Great cloud backup solution for mobile work anywhere business"

What do you like best?

The Druva InSync cloud professional service can't be easier to setup, deploy and manage. Dashboard is well designed with key alerts and indicators in the right areas. Backup policies can take time to fine tune, but the process is very intuitive. VSS shadow copy and de-duplication works extremely well, even for Exchange PST backup. The Druva support team is one of the best in the industry, very responsive and communicates well. Used the service for 2 years and overall very happy.

What do you dislike?

Pricing plans need to be more flexible; the base rate assumes that each user will need about 30GB of storage for backup which may not work in every scenario. To license add-on products like DLP and file sharing, you have to buy licenses for all of your existing backup users. For example, if you have a 30 user license of Druva InSync backup and want to add DLP, you have to buy 30 DLP licenses. You can't just buy 5 or 10. In a real business environment, not all users require DLP. Accounting, legal and HR might, but the marketing team doesn't need that.

When doing a data restore using the Druva InSync client, it is not intuitive. The interface needs a refresh to make it easier to understand exactly what files your restoring.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

In an environment where users split time between the office and their home or travel on the road, having a backup solution that works from anywhere is essential. Yes, there are a lot of cloud backup services on the market today, but too many of them make promises that do not deliver. One major requirement for my clients was to have a backup solution that did not tax client system resources or the local internet connection bandwidth while performing a backup. I tested a dozen different backup services and Druva stood out among the rest in how easy it was to set these parameters. The other big requirement was to have data snapshots over a period of time. One concern that came up is how to safeguard company data when a disgruntled employee quits and returns their computer with all the data deleted. We needed a solution that would allow us to restore data up to 3 months prior. Druva can do this. Third, we needed a solution that didn't force employees to use a platform they weren't used to. We didn't want to force users to store all their data in Google Drive or some other collaboration environment. Druva works on any operation system and runs in the background allowing users to work without constraints. Lastly, we needed a solution that would allow access to backup data quickly and without requiring an IT administrator to open up access. Druva's web and mobile access is ready to use the moment the user first starts using the service, it's simple and easy to use. When comparing other solutions Druva InSync cloud requires no on-premise investment and it's more affordable.

"Druva the best backup software"

What do you like best?

It is very easy to use. Dashboard looks very clear and shows all needed information. We can sleep peacefully.

What do you dislike?

It is very hard to dislike this software. One think which our customers observed is the minimum limit of licenses. They think it should be lower than 25.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With Druva we can easily sort the data, secure it and teach our customers how they can work with their files specially if they have remote offices. They feel save with Druva.

"End Point Backup and FileSharing in One Solution"

What do you like best?

There is one solution to backup the end point data and allow employees to share data internally and externally. Their support is super fast.

What do you dislike?

Needs more features on the inSync (Dropbox like side). I know their focus is on data governance but employees are yearning for more sharing related features.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Protecting data on employee computers. Allow employees to share data with each other and external clients using a secure company sanctioned service.

We have been able to recover deleted data from laptops.

"Good product with great support"

What do you like best?

Druva works well and it works silently. It's virtually no hassle at all for the end-users and they don't know it's there, which is what matters to them. The backup and restore process is very smooth.

What do you dislike?

On our end, we've had some issues with our firewall letting all of the Druva traffic through. We've allowed the specified ranges we've gotten from support, but it seems like there's still some that doesn't fall under the specified ranges, requiring some extra work on our end.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Backup and business continuity. It's great being to have a secure backup to the cloud that's reliable. The restoration has really come in handy for those times that a hard drive has failed.

"Awesome Product"

What do you like best?

We have used InSync Professional since 3.x. I love that I can chose backup frequency. I have it installed on PCs, Macs, Android and iOS devices.

What do you dislike?

There isnt much I dislike, but one of them would be not being able to change the timeout value on the admin portal.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure you allow enough room for growth. I have had to grow my storage twice since I started using Druva (I have had to add licensing as well since it has proven itself to be useful and robust).

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The initial goal was endpoint backup for traveling users, which was met immediately. A side benefit that I have seen is migration of data from one device to another when an end user gets new hardware. Its so simple.

And last but not least: best support I have ever experienced! nice, polite and quick.

What do you dislike?

frankly, I cannot really think of anything I would not like about the product.

Maybe there might be also option to buy licencies instead of just substription based programs...

Recommendations to others considering the product

"Druva - Endpoint Backup for Enterprises"

What do you like best?

The things which are standing out at Druva are: User Convenience, Easy Administration and Reliability.

The user convenience is there because of the user does most of the times not even recognize that the application is running. It runs without any loss in performance.

The easy administration is given through a nice Web2.0 interface which contains all the functions which you need for a good operation of the solution. The reporting is meaningful and the data insight a great benefit. In addition to that also the SAML/ADFS integration is a charm to work with.

The reliability speaks for itself, in the last two years we had no major outage with the solution.

What do you dislike?

When the user privacy feature is activated (which is good in general) there is no possibility to pull remote logs, this makes remote debugging very difficult. We are hoping here for a fix soon.

Encryption for Mac Users would be more than welcome to have.

It would be good if the ADFS/SAML integration would also fetch group memberships. So that profiles can be assigned via an AD group in an automatic way.

Recommendations to others considering the product

We did a Proof of Concept with two other Gartner Leaders in that field and Druva stood definitely out.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are mainly solving the problems of not having a proper endpoint backup solution on our clients. Even though we are encouraging all our users to user central network storages/file servers, Users tend to "temporarily" save documents on their own desktop and then the surprise was great when we had no possibility to restore their work.

In addition to that we can also protect the data in case of theft of the device. The encryption and remote-wipe possibility leaves a good feeling.

"Druva inSync review"

What do you like best?

I love the simplicity for the end users. Once things are setup and running they take care of everything. It is rare that they call in for help with a restore or adding a folder.

What do you dislike?

I wish there was a way to set it up so that a top level folder is configured on the server side, and the user could deselect sub folders under that top level folder.

Really a minor annoyance.

What do you like best?

The ease of use and simple configuration has made the rollout of inSync easy and quick for our limited IT staff.

What do you dislike?

Druva has made many enhancements to the system, however there is still a need for configurable notifications and reports. There also needs to be better error message handling.

"Excellent solution for data protection"

What do you like best?

1. Really easy to set up.

2. It makes backup seamlessly either the client is on the office or over the internet

3. Deduplication: on both sides. on the client, before sending the packets and on the server.

4. Active Directory: import users from multiple domains is a plus.

5. small footprint on the client side.

What do you dislike?

1. Upgrading. To upgrade you always need to start a support call.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We had a problem of data loss everytime a manager device was lost - stolen, broken, etc.

So far we've recovered 367GB of data.

Also solved the problem of assuring a copy of the working when someone left the company.

"Great for endpoint backups and excellent service."

What do you like best?

Druva inSync is one of the only endpoint backup products that gives us the option for an on-premises install. The backups are fast and efficient and easily managed.

What do you dislike?

Migrating the product from one server to another was not as easy as we expected.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We needed a backup solution for our off-site laptops which allowed them to be backed up to our data center. Druva inSync allowed us to keep the backups in house. The management console is very easy to learn. This product has saved us a lot of time.
