Excede is a dealer management software that allows you access to your business data via Microsoft technology with real-time transactions, data viewing onscreen, the ability to export into a variety of formats, and run reports.
I really like Excede's structure and function. Unlike other DMS environments, Excede is fully Windows GUI based with a SQL backend. The interface is very similar to Windows Explorer with it's folder-type structure. They put a lot of focus on their customers' needs and the true functionality of the software. Even though their company is small, they put a ton of time into development and application functionality. Price point for the product is good based on the ROI.
What do you dislike?
Sometimes their development team is slow to implement fixes. This could be improved with more development staff. Their after-hours cost is quite pricey, but even with the cost it's nice to have someone available if you need them. They do a lot of hands-off which I would prefer more assisted and hands-on.
Recommendations to others considering the product
Train, train, train. Establish SOLID SMEs and don't let them leave for at LEAST a year. Develop a solid training plan for new-hires. Have 1-2 dedicated staff members to support the product if you want to be efficient with it.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Upgrade from ADP DMS. Excede is easier to use than other DMS products, faster to train, and simpler to troubleshoot with some basic SQL knowledge.
