What do you like best?
the user interface is straightforward and has the most-used functions available as buttons on the main screen. But for less often-used there is a selection bar down the left side of the screen and menu items on top. The system allows you to customize the invoice with many templates and the ability to add/remove fields.
What do you dislike?
The previous software that I used (no longer available and will not run on Windows 10) allowed for setting up your own templates using a Word document. This allowed for more complete customization of the documents, but was also quite complex. Express Invoice allows for decent customization of the invoice, but there is much less available in customizing the quote. These are the two documents I use regularly.
Recommendations to others considering the product
It is an inexpensive product that works as advertised. I believe that you can get a free trial. It isn't a complete accounting package. It is for creating and managing invoices. I believe that the one-time cost is $49US. There is also other software available from NCH that will allow you to build a complete accounting package.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
I need to get quotes out fast. After I have completed the work, the program allows me to convert the quote to an invoice which saves time. 99% of my work is in developing systems rather than selling products. I can set up service items that I select when creating quotes and invoices that generally have hourly or daily rates. I also have an item set up as a note so I can enter whatever text I need to add to a quote to explain the scope of work as it relates to the pricing. This system allows for relatively quick and painless generation of quotes and invoices and lets me track them through the complete process.
