"A standout amongst other cloud-based accounting applications"

What do you like best?

You can code your procedures around FinancialForce utilizing their APIs or by specifically controlling their database, so it gives you a considerable measure of adaptability on how you create around FinancialForce. It has a decent client network entryway where you can share thoughts, log issues and so on. Support is extraordinary, and on the off chance that anything crops up as an issue, they truly strive to get it settled.

What do you dislike?

It was one of the main cloud-based bookkeeping bundles, and with that has come some design choices that I think they've understood were a mix-up, however with each update, they settle these.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Ensure you know your budgetary procedures and the reports that you have to make from the information. A smart thought is to complete a parallel run utilizing your current back framework and FinancialForce to resolve any wrinkles.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have extraordinarily reduced the measure of time spent on copy information passage by working in a similar framework. FinancialForce additionally offers a great deal of mechanized usefulness, yet one we utilize is the automated cash matching, which makes out another stride of manual data entry.

"Powerful tool which much to offer, yet requires a steep learning process"

What do you like best?

The incorporation among Opportunities and Projects is consistent, limiting information passage and empowering strong reporting. Another tremendous advantage of this is it's anything but difficult to redo the instrument to your requirements and customize forms. The asset organizer is fabulous, extremely itemized and simple to utilize.

What do you dislike?

There are a huge amount of highlights that are pointless excess for our business. A portion of these highlights produce an immense number of records that is beginning to drive up costs. The expectation to absorb information is additionally steep, it took no less than a year for us to truly be utilising the apparatus easily and make sense of what changes we expected to make.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Some of the time FinancialForce feels like a touch of pointless excess for our private venture, yet the usefulness is unmatched, particularly in the event that you are a Salesforce shop. We have turned out to be fundamentally more productive in our staffing since receiving FinancialForce, and amplifying our billable usage rates merits the speculation.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Great future vision product, it has more than I need to manage my team, recruit and track people, leave, benefits, compensation, performance and more.

"Integrated solution with promise"

What do you like best?

Hard not to love that it's integrated into Salesforce very natively. Some of the new features they are building are looking very promising - like resource management, the gantt chart, etc. Expenses is pretty easy inside FF, and timecards aren't bad either.

What do you dislike?

It struggles to keep up with the project management features in comparison to other enterprise PPM type solutions. A lack of portfolio management/cross project viewing, etc and task management/project building is still not easy to do.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Be very thorough in defining your needs from an executive/reporting standpoint, down to the user input level. If you can't get users to input, you won't have good data and it will fail. Be sure you know what you are getting and that it meets your needs.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Having a smoothly integrated sales to PS solution in the same system, has made the process of hand-off smoother and more accurrate. We have accurate timecards and financials on projects.

"Fully featured and flexible for many uses"

What do you like best?

I like that this can be configured to support nearly any kind of business, for any need. It is relevant for small companies as well as large. There are not many things that we have tried to do that we could not, and we have really pushed those limits!

What do you dislike?

Sometimes the flexibility makes it difficult to determine the "best practice" or right path for a certain business. And then there are areas that really aren't flexible enough, like some of the visual force pages.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I highly recommend FF PSA. It really can do pretty much anything you need.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

More and more frequently, we find that PSA is being used as the engine and we are able to build layers on top of that engine to suit the various types of businesses that want to use it. It has certainly become more flexible over time, and that is a good direction. Most of our clients have realized shorter turnaround times for information related to project delivery and financial data related to their delivery.

"PSA V16.5 Preview"

What do you like best?

The PSA has always been a robust and versatile for use across organizations for many functionalities, and it just keeps getting better!!

The functionality and features can be customized based on the scenario and this helps a lot, as many attributes / parameters keep changing and different portfolios within the organization requires to operate differently and thereby requiring special customization, which allows ease of project management and provides a level of control in all the chaos..

What do you dislike?

It keeps getting updated and it's a special chore trying to keep up with all the module changes (especially minor ones) and the document mentioning the updates is more like a commentary than a job aid, if this was support by the pictorial representation and all the changes and updates are identified clearly and highlighted and aided with screen shots, then it would be much easier to understand the differences.

Recommendations to others considering the product

A very Powerful and Robust tool and surefire solution to many of your problems.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

A lot of manual tracking, emailing and excel computations are being replaced by Financial Force Professional Services Automation and the Apps that come with using it.

using FF allows for running multiple applications at the same location, (thereby proving Financial force's robustness), allowing the users to use a varied set of tools to run at the same place. This turnkey feature not only helps in terms of compatibility, but also ensures comfortability in terms of having all the apps needed in one place.

"Review from a developer"

What do you like best?

FinancialForce PSA provided a bunch of useful features for professional service company. The Timecard system suite our business mode perfectly. It can also integrating with other 3rd services like expensify to make it even more powerful. FF have a gorgeous support team can respond your requests in several hours.

What do you dislike?

With the limit of salesforce, the performance of FinancialForce PSA is not very good, especially for the billing function.

Also, as a developer , the document of FF PSA is really simple. You have to try a lot of times to figure out how the API works.

FF PSA can not support mobile devices very well, though mobile phones is the most popular devices all over the world.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Salesforce is the most popular popular cloud platform for all kinds of companies, but it lack some key features needed by professional service company. Without FF PSA, you must do a lot of development to fulfill the requirements of your company. FF PSA can make your salesforce usable for PS company with only some configurations, this will save a lot of money for small companies.

"FinancialForce PSA Review"

What do you like best?

The fact that FinancialForce PSA is on the Force.com platform makes it very easy to streamline sales nad professional services processes, in addition to reporting on key professional services metrics like utilization, customer profitability, etc..

What do you dislike?

The underlying object model for FinancialForce PSA takes some getting used to. There are a ton of utility / system objects that PSA needs in order to produce certain data sets (i.e. Est. vs. Actuals, Missing Timecards, etc.), so it can be quite a learning curve to implement the system for the untrained / initiated.

Recommendations to others considering the product

During the implementation do not neglect to get adequate training on how the underlying data sets are generated. Be completely familiar with the process of adding PSA Resources, adding new project templates, generating utilization figures, etc..

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We're currently using FinancialForce PSA to track the successful completion of professional service offerings and implementations. We have recognized benefits in streamlined reported, ease of administration, integration with sales processes, in addition to faster resource staffing.

"FinancialForce user for three years"

What do you like best?

FinancialForce PSA is highly configurable allowing us to add fields and workflows tailored to our specific business needs without having to engage a solution provider. FF manages all aspects of our PSA business - customer/internal projects, budgets, scope and resources and all related data is easily tracked for reporting purposes. Upgrades have been painless and cost effective. The FinancialForce tech support team are amazing and quick to respond.

What do you dislike?

Reporting is restricted to the native salesforce tool which is somewhat limited. It would be preferable to be able to join any number of objects in a single report. The mobile time entry solution could use some improvement. The resource planner needs enhanced color-coding.

Recommendations to others considering the product

FinancialForce is easily configurable to meet almost any need as it relates to tracking projects, financials, scheduling and resources. It is incredibly user-friendly and has great integration to Salesforce (out-of-the-box). FinancialForce's support team is fantastic! They have made it possible for us to independently configure the system to meet our ongoing needs.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have successfully automated several processes and are able to configure the system to meet our needs "on-the-fly". We have developed workflows that have reduced the time to complete many processes such as revenue and costs recognition, on-boarding resources, project set-up and project close. We have also developed alerts and triggers that makes it possible for us to make proactive decisions on endless data points.

"Increased automation and availability of management information through Financial Force PSA"

What do you like best?

One of the great benefits of Financial Force PSA is the automation and availability of information provided by FinancialForce PSA. We can quickly access to relevant project budget information with the click of button. Easy access to consultants utilization through flexible custom reporting which the end user can easily build. Dashboard functionality is a great tool to get KPIs that gives us a quick snapshot of projects and resources. Resource Planning is a great tool that helps us allocate resources more efficiently. We have a large number of custom reports created that a few resources created. Missing timecards reminders and reports are a great tool for the managers. PSA is very customizable which allowed us to create some customizations to adapt FinancialForce PSA to our processes and needs. We created a few custom reports to allow us to improve the automation with our accounting system NetSuite. Financial Force PSA allowed us to reduce the use of spreadsheets to the minimum which enabled us to be able to share information quickly with other departments and clients. We are now incorporating other teams into Financial Force PSA which allows us to increase information sharing across departments.

What do you dislike?

Inability to delegate other resources to approve timecards while a resource is on PTO. If this happens during month end then an Admin will have to manually approve each timecard individually.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I will definitely go with Financial Force PSA and make sure that you involve your key PS resources during the deployment.

"Extremely powerful tool"

What do you like best?

One of the greatest benefits for our company is that all of our professional services data lives in salesforce so that it can be easily reported on in conjunction with many other attached objects.

What do you dislike?

There is a lot of complexity with PSA because it is so fully featured. Our use of the tool doesn't touch on many things outside of the core areas, and it can be a little daunting to bring on new team members because of this.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Be prepared to examine your own internal business processes to make sure they align with best practices rather than modifying PSA to custom solve your unique use case where possible. You might find our years down the road that you'd wish you had done it differently if you don't.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

One of the things we love most about PSA is the insight it gives us into utilization. In conjunction with pipeline reporting, we've been able to see staffing shortfalls proactively and hire or reorganize to meet our needs.

"Powerful tool to capture data"

What do you like best?

The look and feel; we use Salesforce for our CRM, so it's a seamless transition into FF PSA. It is handy for our new users to see the same type of data from one system to the other, especially since they are integrated. The lay-outs are easily customizable to at a global level, everyone sees the data the same way, in a logical sequence.

What do you dislike?

I would like to be able to export views to Excel, instead of having to run reports. Totals on those Views would be handy as well. We have a lot of Views set-up for Project Managers and Billing Administrators, and more on-screen data would give us quicker access to data, without having to run Reports and export to Excel and total.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Get a full understanding of how the software works in its basic out-of-the-box functionality. Then, decide which of your current processes you cannot fit into PSA and prioritize. The less customizing, I believe the better success you will have. We have made a lot of changes, and some items we are still working through to get complete and accurate.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Tracking T&E including Billing Milestones. It's fairly easy to pinpoint visually when something is missing or recording incorrectly. Tracking Planned Hours versus Billable Submitted Hours against a Milestone, for instance, is a key metric for billing. This level of tracking is critical in our business, especially for Time & Materials Projects, where every hour is true revenue.

"A Powerful Application "

What do you like best?

We can move easily through all phases from statement to financials, and our workers get finish perceivability all through the whole procedure.

What do you dislike?

The seller needs to revive and enhance intensely utilized UIs like those for time and cost passage. I am trusting the new Lightning knowledge will offer an enhanced client encounter.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

FinancialForce has helped our organization's development and extension. We are an expert administrations organization and we have to track spend administration, asset accessibility, worker use and bill rate, venture benefit, and so forth. FinancialForce causes us do all these and its combination with Salesforce gives our staff access to Salesforce functionalities.

"Great PSA tool and collaboration with Salesforce"

What do you like best?

FinancialForce is the next level in terms of PSA solution. This helps my organization to manage project, financials and resources in a very efficient way from the basic user to the executive level. The support from the FF Consulting Services is really good they have great experience on SFDC if you are integrating this with Case Management which will give you a very powerful platform to track your sales to delivery process end-to-end in a single place.

What do you dislike?

The tool to migrate the configuration from one environment to the other could be improved. Also the documentation as APIs.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If your organization has a very complex ecosystem like mine, I strongly recommend consider SI model or in house development to connect FF with different technologies.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Process alignment between all the Services organization, including Deployment, Consulting and Managed Services - it's key we have a tool flexible enough to support and scale process and user experience.

"A Great Tool: PSA"

What do you like best?

I'd have to say I enjoy the UI layout, first and foremost. It's clean and easy to read, furthering accessibility and operating within it. It makes it easier both as a user, and an Admin who trains new resources who are unfamiliar with Salesforce.

The UI has come a long way, and to see it's improvements shows just how focused the Salesforce team is.

What do you dislike?

Most importantly, I'd like to see more documentation, from both a high and low level for different objects and how they interact. The PSA Help Tool (http://help.financialforce.com/psa) is great, but it fails to describe the relationship objects have between one another.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Because of the great accessibility PSA provides, my team and I spend less time on aiding resources and Manager forecasting, and more time on bigger picture operational issues.

"Director, Network Solutions Specialists & Professional Services"

What do you like best?

The ability to track critical information for both performance and business metrics on each project. Combine this with the reporting capability of SFDC and you have a system that can track ProSvcs from the opportunity through closing of the project. At any point in that time, we can see where we are with the project, what our current performance is and collect all artifacts in one location.

What do you dislike?

It would be better to have an integration with MS Project or a stronger Gantt charting capability.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Keeping track of the project financials along with the project milestones. WIth PSA, we have a clear picture of milestones for invoicing and recognition of revenue on all our projects. This has also provided us with the ability to accurately forecast revenue which was not possible previously.

"Very powerful yet a bit confusing"

What do you like best?

Being able to track projects and how we're doing in terms of budget.

What do you dislike?

How everything is interrelated. It's good that everything works as checks and balances, but if I don't know the details of it, then when I run into an error, I have to call FF support for their help.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Powerful tool, but make sure to know all the details now things are related

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Problems resolved: Being able to assign project managers and other resources and being able to check how many hours they have worked toward a certain milestone/assignment. Being able to see the holistic view of how people are utilizing their time

Benefits: No need to track hours on Excel, project managers can request a resource and allow PS Ops Analyst to review the request and assign or not assign based on the resource's availability (checks & balances), and how we can track how much we've billed & what's left.

"Great tool if you have time to deploy"

What do you like best?

A lot of automation that helps with utilization calculations. Ability to use salesforce functionality to enhance process flow. Support has been great in answering all questions.

What do you dislike?

Very heavily coded and the code is not visible to assess when there is a problem. NO DOCUSIGN SUPPORT on PSA custom objects. A lot to administer from the SFDC side, not worth the overhead for small teams.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Need a few months to implement successfully. If you do not take the time to get everyone on board and develop/team standard procedurals it could become shelfware pretty quickly. Be wary of the PS team at FiancialForce for this product. My company paid a good amount for training and it was all stuff i had learned from troubleshooting in the first 6 months. It was not very helpful beyond that. Otherwise, there's a lot of understanding of built in automation that you have to grasp before launching.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Utilization rates so our PS resources are being adequately utilized in a billable sense. Seeing our Project docket and ability to assign the right resources based on project needs with the Resource Planner. Advanced analytics for our PS managers. Built on Salesforce so our Sales/Deal Desk/Legal teams are working in the same environment as PS so that the passoff between closing a deal and professional services engagements.

"Financial Force PSA Critique G2 Crowd"

What do you like best?

I like the way that PSA and FF interact! I do both billing and invoicing for my employer, and I actually think it helps for one person to do both. Especially with PSA/FF as your accounting system. I like the ability to see both the invoice I have created and the transaction behind it.

What do you dislike?

However, I do wish that Financial Force had the ability to delete certain invoices. This is probably the thing that irritates me the most. An administrator should have the capability to delete certain things, including invoices. We have quite a few "discarded" invoices floating around because there was an accidental duplicated upload when we went live--and I'm unable to delete those off.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It's great that we can finally see the selling of a product from start to finish. We see the flow as a product is sold, invoiced, and finally paid for. That is something we did not have in our previous accounting system!

"Useful for financial, reporting could be better!"

What do you like best?

FinancialForce is simple to pick-up and learn the basics and if you have any prior Salesforce knowledge, this is nice and easy to get your head around. It's simple but a very effective platform which helps us keep up efficiency.

What do you dislike?

It's a very effective financial management platform but it's not the best reporting tool and I have had a bit of trouble configuring certain reports. There needs to be a bit more of a guide on this so we can learn how to use reports effectively.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Finance will find this to be very good software that will suit all their needs and once reporting is improved upon, this will be something that every business should have in my opinion.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use FinancialForce in our business to balance basic book-keeping and use it to process transactions with clients. Although it's mainly used for our Sales and Accounting teams, everyone in the business sometimes gets involved and it's good to know how easy it is to manage and maintain so anyone in the office can do it.

"Great experience with FinancialForce"

What do you like best?

The best feature for me is how PSA and FF interact. With it I can easily do both billing and invoicing without having to keep them separate. That's why I enjoy using the tool as it allows me to keep track of the invoices I have created and the transactions as well.

What do you dislike?

This is a strange one because this should be part and parcel of this software - there is no option to delete invoices. It'd be nice to have the ability to delete specific invoices as it's easy to create duplicates and we cannot delete them, causing problems in the system.

Recommendations to others considering the product

FinancialForce PSA is good us to provide better service for our customers and to plan for and forecast our resource needs. It ensures us that all our projects are successful.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

FinancialForce helps us track the selling of a product from the beginning to the end and it's excellent for seeking measurability. We are able to keep a sense of the products that are sold, invoiced and paid for all through this system.

"Experience with PSA tool"

What do you like best?

Multiple modules available and the fact the the CTO is active in the Developer community

What do you dislike?

Not lightning ready enough on the PSA side, as well as degradation of our response time and service level on the open cases (a case took over 2 months to resolve and we had to poll multiple times).

Some features are late to the game (ex: Risks and Issues should have been there way before and eliminate the need for us to create our own customizations and then having to migrate data)

Recommendations to others considering the product

Consider your needs vs pricing and complexity of the solution

Make sure you understand that not everything is Lightning complete (lightning ready but not lightning complete)

"Very Useful Tool "

What do you like best?

The ability to enter projects multiple times in order to track time. This feature helps me to make sure I've entered all of my time accurately.

What do you dislike?

The reporting is not very intuitive. When I want everyone to be able to see their own report, it's not intuitive that I have to filter for myself. It's also not easy to test this feature without someone else looking at the report.

Recommendations to others considering the product

FinancialForce PSA has been extremely helpful in helping us to link our opportunities in SalesForce with our projects. This allows us to track margins and keep within budget much easier.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are using PSA in order to help us understand how much time we are spending on particular projects, how long different types of resources spend on projects, what our utilization is on client projects vs. internal projects, and when we can recognize revenue based on the delivery of our services.

"PSA + Me"

What do you like best?

FinancialForce PSA has helped us go paperless. Given us so much of our week back by having a single place to approve time and expenses. Also, creating and sending out client invoices has never been easier for our company. We now have turn around time of two days with invoices.

What do you dislike?

PSA has a 5 MB limit on attachments. I would love to see that limit higher. Our business requires the addition of all expense receipts each week. This can be as low as a few pages but also extremely high depending on the client and amount of consultants on a single project.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Before, we would receive hundreds of documents that need to be printed and collated each week. Now with FinancialForce PSA, we have gone entirely paperless and sped up our approval time of time and expenses!

"Great reporting functionality"

What do you like best?

Reports and Dashboards are easy to create and distribute. It is also very configurable so if it doesn't do something you need, there is likely a workaround for it.

What do you dislike?

The system doesn't do a number of things that I think are obvious for a PSA. For example, you can't filter or report on the current approver for objects like timecards and expense reports. So there is a lot of clicking into individual records when trying to follow up on unapproved records. Additionally, there is not much customization that can be done on Visualforce pages, which we have had a lot of requests for.

Recommendations to others considering the product

While the system is very configurable, it can be very time consuming to create, test, and roll out custom objects/code. The product will only be worth the price if there is a resource that has the skills and time to effectively leverage all of the features of the platform.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

There is a lot more visibility to the business than what we had with our previous PSA. We have dashboards for every business unit so leaders can quickly assess the problem areas that need some extra attention.

"PSA Creating Operational Efficiencies"

What do you like best?

I like the 360 degree view that having Sales and Services on the same platform provide us. As a business, we need to not only track our sales pipeline but also have the visibility into our projects. Being a small business our team's are consistently pull in a million directions. Having PSA and Salesforce takes many of the administrative tasks off of our team and allows them to focus on our clients.

What do you dislike?

There is not much that I dislike. Even if there is functionality that is not currently present, the ongoing commitment by FinancialForce to create an ever evolving product is amazing.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you are looking for a professional services product, then select FinancialForce PSA. When compared to others, this solution has all of the needs to meet small to enterprise level companies. The flexibility of being on the Force.com platform allows any business to mold the solution to fit each unique business process.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our business problems involved having limited visibility into the health of our projects and poor resource planning. We needed a solution that would show us what projects our team is working on and when they will have availability to take on more work. Given that PSA is built on the Force.com platform, we have been able to fully take advantage of the automation features. Automated emails, reports and dashboards are just a few of the benefits that we have been able to see.

"Good product, complex to setup. Transformed Project visibility and provides good financial data"

What do you like best?

Ability to roll-up costs and billing on a project by project basis, forecast revenue and schedule resources have transformed our business. Prior to PSA we were working with an old system including spreadsheets. PSA has proven very useful for Project Management. Has given our Project Managers to manage the projects themselves with minimal effort.

What do you dislike?

Permissions seem over complex and no streamlined way of allocating. Setting up new users is time consuming and quite a lot of customisation is required to perform some simple tasks such as automating assignment cost rates when a resource cost rate changes... and also PSA does not work well for contractors from a Utilisation perspective.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Good product, make sure requirements are understood prior to implementing PSA and try to trial the product prior to implementing it so you can understand its limitations and what is/is not possible.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Found it hard to manage projects prior to PSA and PSA has given the ability for Project visibility across the company

"PSA review"

What do you like best?

How the information is organized and that you can search for the customers you are looking for no matter by invoice #, PO, or customer name. This software is great in many aspects, i can always get to the information i need even if i click on the wrong section. I got shown once on how to use and it was a breeze after that.

What do you dislike?

i truly enjoy using financial force, never have a issue when it comes to it. So no dislikes here.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Once you know the kind of information you are needing to search for it will definitely make it easier to use. As there are different sections for different information. But I will say once you get the hang if it is a breeze to get through. I was showed once and never had a issue.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I use it the most for finding the quote IDs so that i can locate the customers contracts. I have realized that no matter on how much i am in a rush to get what i need even if i select the wrong option i get directed to exactly where i need to be. I use PSA a lot when its invoicing time for our Professional Services and definitely helps make the processing of them go a lot smoother. So when processing up to 100 invoices and needing information i am thankful for this helpful software,

"Extremely disappointed"

What do you like best?

Very little. Did not handle what was promised.

What do you dislike?

Demo'd items do not work without customization. Extreme time sink trying to work around system issues. Reporting is difficult and cannot provide what is needed. Does not handle declining balance out of box, even though demonstration showed it. Expense submission is cumbersome. Approval process does not work well. Time input is time consuming. Overall extremely dissatisfied with almost every aspect of the system. The original implementer did not know best ways of setup, caused us rework and increased cost.

Recommendations to others considering the product

FInd a better product. Do not be fooled by the demo. Extremely expensive given lack of functionality out of the box. Extremely complex setup/configuration. Easy for users to mis-report information with how in-flexible the reporting is. Reports must really be built by a fully knowledgeable person, and easy to corrupt a report by making an invalid selection.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Increased effort with Time collection and limited functionality compared to what was demonstrated. Extremely unhappy with system, regret moving forward with software acquisition. Did not solve issues, created additional issues. We realized no benefits at all, only problems, issues and wasted time, effort and money.

"PSA is a Solid Tool - Very Scalable"

What do you like best?

We like FF PSA because of the scaling and it's constant improvements and overall aligning to the SF platform. Specifically, in addition to easy UI like all other SF apps, we like the basic project forms, Assignments, Skills, Regions practices and groups. It is easy to configure and automate workflows and notifications. We like the dynamic and flexible resource management screen, Expense Reports, Time cards, real-time reporting and the ability to customize and transform the application being on the Salesforce.com platform. (Even supporting the API's for integrations etc.) We recently began reviewing the MS project integration and may use that in the future. Financial force has been on-site at our Sales Conference as well as numerous other meeting to support our business and open to helping us fit our needs into the tool.

What do you dislike?

Issues relating to Mobile time cards that has been recently corrected. Mobile is key with PSA due to the nature of travel, contract labor and all related remote service needs. Most of the challenges we've had was working with our Sales rep when we had licenses automatically de-activate.

Recommendations to others considering the product

When looking for a project management, resourcing and tracking solution, PSA is the best in class.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Global Services Projects. Providing and scheduling resources to projects, timecards, total project cost, linking our backend orders to projects, capturing project information and man hours to projects.

"Experience with Financial Force PSA"

What do you like best?

---Ease of use.

---Incredibly flexible and configurable.

---Great support staff, and concept of customer success manager works very well.

---Integrates seamlessly with Salesforce so the opportunity to project is straight out of box.

---In general, the application works well after some hiccups initially implementation-wise. These issues were more largely due to the change in business process, in my opinion.

What do you dislike?

--Reporting in Salesforce/PSA generally could be better. Although it is very easy to use from a transactional standpoint, we struggled at go-live with an inability to create effective management/executive reports. We eventually went implemented Wave to do more executive level reporting.

--Because we were on an old Oracle ERP, we were not able to utilize many of the financial functions related to PSA.

--Data migration was very challenging, but that's not a product-issue...:).

Recommendations to others considering the product

In your implementation, make sure to scope out data migration correctly, and really evaluate your reporting, and where Salesforce/PSA may fall short.

These were our 2 biggest mistakes.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

---Our services business was completed disconnected system-wise from the rest of the business before we put Services on Salesforce/PSA. They were on a home-grown application for opportunities, project and resource tracking.

--With PSA, everyone is on the same process now. In addition, PSA now gives all PM, Directors, Finance, Operations an effective tool to see project status. We are off spreadsheets to do percent complete calculations, and that has improved our financial closes.

--Timecard entry was also a challenge as we were on a 10 year old version of Oracle. Timecard entry is now much easier and simplified for field users.

--Forecasting is now simpler and all in one tool. We no longer input "dummy" Services opportunties in Salesforce, and due to the Wave implementation, we have a dashboard for Revenue Forecast every quarter.

"Resource and Project Management"

What do you like best?

I like resource requests, the ability to create custom views and reports, and the fact that managing our resources and projects is a one stop shop (PSA). I also like transparency it presents across the organization in terms of status of the resource requests and projects, along with the ability to collaborate on the same across groups.

What do you dislike?

In particular, I do not like some of the limitations, per our use case, in assignment SCHEDULES. In short, we need the past to be updated with actuals (time cards) and then have all hours remaining on an assignment to be scheduled (averaged is fine - using the Adjust Hours per Day scheduling strategy) from "today" to the end of the assignment rather than f=from the beginning of the assignment to the end of the assignment.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Serving our customers with quality and in a timely manner by allowing to plan for and forecast our resource needs. It also helps us to ensure that are projects are successful.

"A constantly improving experience"

What do you like best?

The v16 features look like they'll be offering some great improvements for capacity planning and resource planning; much like last year we're very excited for the new features

What do you dislike?

Nothing that wasn't caused by our own customizations. As an early adopter, we have a fairly sizable amount of custom code. After coming to the Community event, we definitely were able to see a lot of examples of where we can de-customize thanks to all the hard work they've been putting in for enhancements.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I've been working with PSA for the past year now, and in that year I've seen my organization go from V13, to V14, and now we're working on rolling out V15. The updates from version to version have been absolutely staggering, fixing requirements from our users as a customer and rolling out new features that we didn't even know we wanted, but ended up loving. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds

---Updated 2017 Comm Live: We're loving the new features we've been seeing, and this community sessions have been showing us some great new custom reports that we're excited to roll out to help with forecasting

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We're working to help our Project Managers in managing their implementations and get them tracking this in a readily reportable environment. With resource tracking, reporting, and automatic synchronization between quotes and projects, we've definitely come a long way to fixing that.

"Solid SFDC Managed Package"

What do you like best?

Documentation - As an admin supporting the implementation I find the thoroughness and organization of PSA's documentation to be refreshing. I'm easily able to find short videos and articles on functionality so that I can learn on my own without involving support.

What do you dislike?

It's clear that PSA has been around awhile as you can see parts of the product where they built needed functionality before Salesforce implemented it themselves (Custom Settings vs Configuration Groups/Options). I'm not sure how feasible it is - but it'd be helpful as an Admin if these were consolidated into Custom Settings so that I don't have to look in two places for things.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We replaced OpenAir with PSA as we were looking to consolidate both Sales and Services into one system (Salesforce) and leverage the reporting capabilities of Salesforce with PSA. In that regard I believe we've seen immense benefit.

"My Financial Force PSA Experience "

What do you like best?

Great tool for Customization & Availability. Reliable and easy to use. Great tool for management of Professional Services. Financial Force's strive to continue building best in class PSA with constant improvements and enhancements. Efficiency of the tool and how it allows full control over professional services domain with ease of management reporting and oversight. Integration to Salesforce is seamless and almost seems like they are one in the same. Management dashboards are great and the ease of custom reporting development.

What do you dislike?

Haven't found many flaws in the tool yet. Resource requests can be a bit more dynamic and easier to use but that is all for now. Additionally, no way to export Gantt into excel / pdf

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Ability to forecast better, able to gain visibility by project, group, region and total services globally. Better way for management reporting and total oversight.

"Streamlined Processes on 1 Platform"

What do you like best?

Very easy to adapt to, logical, flows smoothly. Love the fact that time & expense is directly related to the appropriate projects, saves us a lot of time and potential user error. Easy user customization and very powerful. Community is wonderful

What do you dislike?

Some pages & processes lag, start up configuration (we used a third party) was a bit overwhelming leaving us with a lot of ends to go back and tie up.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Intense start up but one you break through on that, the system is tremendous and easy to navigate and maintain. CommunityLive annual event is really great to learn and network

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Having the ability to tie together project timelines, time and expense, and FFA on 1 platform has saved our business a lot of time. The availability of project details on utilization and billing is great, and it makes reporting so much easier.

"Financial Force PSA Review"

What do you like best?

Visibility into other aspects of our system is key. I can monitor what is in our Sales Pipeline, review account information and watch for the subsequent opportunity. Using Financial Force PSA picks up right where SalesForce leaves off - our project gets created and we can successfully manage our implementations with the tools in Financial Force.

What do you dislike?

Because we needed some customizations in the beginning we often have to wait to get the new release upgrades. That is probably more on us than it is on Financial Force but it is a limitation we have created.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Our Financial Force team has been wonderful to work with - they are available when we need to discuss options and future endeavors. They listen to what their customers are saying and new releases show their commitment to responding to our needs.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Effective project management, ability to manage our project teams who work remotely and transparency for the company to see the work we are doing. We have been able to reduce our implementation timelines which allows our customers to see a ROI more quickly.

"PSA is a powerful way to manage projects and resources"

What do you like best?

The best feature is the time card feature. PSA makes it so easy to submit time, especially if you were working on multiple projects. And the fact that tasks are taken from the Gantt makes the reporting and metrics on project execution very powerful .

What do you dislike?

I hate the bugginess of the time card entry. And the user interface is clumsy. I can’t tell you how many times I have lost time card injuries due to user interface errors which prevent me from saving my time cards

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The business problems are with any services organization faces: how to accurately track resources time spent on projects, and translate that into billing to clients. Additionally, maintaining historical KPI’s and performance on project execution to feed back into the estimation process

"We love PSA"

What do you like best?

The PSA application allows our company to be more integrated with our projects than ever. With more real time scheduling and allowing us to make the best adjustments for our customers.

What do you dislike?

There are a lot of moving parts to PSA, it has taken some time to get adjusted to knowing what all is involved in making certain changes.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Move towards lightning.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Resource scheduling and time cards have saved enormous amounts of time for our staff. PSA has become a big benefit in allowing our employees to have more time in their day to focus on their tasks.

"PSA allows for easy time tracking"

What do you like best?

PSA is a quick and easy tool to track my time and easily submit to payroll by deadlines!

What do you dislike?

Really the only thing I dislike about this site is that you have to log in every time you access the site, but that is also a good security measure.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure to always save your time entries! Take advantage of the other options on the site, like reports and contacts.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Quickly and easily track time and submit time cards to HR.

"Sales Operations Leader"

What do you like best?

Integration with SFDC is strong.

Provides a robust platform for managing all aspects of a global professional service business

Features and functions are easy to learn and enable

What do you dislike?

Resource management is difficult and managing tasks in SFDC style interface is nearly impossible, especially for agile efforts.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Balance the importance of PM requirements and flexibility and the rigors of financial controls when evaluating the product. There are trade-offs. Also, use the highest level of abstraction possible for your needs in defining what's required. There is weight to additional levels of detail (like tasks and skills/competencies) so start at higher level, and then determine how deep to go later.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our global PS business uses PSA for project establishment from the SOW acceptance through to project completion / retrospective. We bill out client via the time and expense interface and also are able to pattern / control the consistency and structure of all project information. It does add the most value for us to the financial controls, billing, invoicing side of processes, and not as much to the Project Management side. However, that is mostly a result of our implementation

"PSA Review"

What do you like best?

I like that the exports integrate pretty easily with Excel. The planner functionality that was recently added is also pretty awesome. It has definitely helped our Services resources forecast more accurately by cutting down the time it takes to update their forecasts on multiple projects.

What do you dislike?

I am an analyst and I have to do a lot of data reporting & analysis. I find the stock reporting functionality to be clunky and very limited from a formulaic and presentation aspect. A lot of our people would love a refreshable dynamic view of PSA data that lives in the system. However, due to system limitations (or potentially knowledge limitations on my part) I am unable to provide them what they need and most often have to export the data to excel to create more dynamic views/capabilities.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure you provide ALL resources interacting with the system proper training. It is important to accurately convey to each person their role in inputting/maintaining data in the system and how the greater good of the company depends on them executing their role within the software accurately.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

At a day to day level I am tracking utilization in efforts to stay on top of Capacity and solve capacity planning issues. I am pulling forecasting data for both services and sales pipeline to get an idea of how we are trending against budget and guidance forecast. PSA helps a ton with this effort mainly by being a solid record for the source data that ultimately drives the models I create (outside of PSA). Without this accurate data we would not be able to have models that drive business decisions.

"Good for professional services organizations"

What do you like best?

Easy to integrate your Salesforce pipeline with your project management and billing platform.

Billing is relatively straightforward as is resource management.

What do you dislike?

It's a bit slow, Salesforce reporting isn't ideal, data model between PSA and FFA aren't completely in synch (although they are improving that).

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure your implementation partner is well versed in the system, it's a newer product so not everyone has the experience needed to meet your needs.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Billing, project profitability (although for advanced analysis we must use Excel).

"FF PSA Project Plan Review"

What do you like best?

The ease of use is very appealing. The UI is user-friendly and easy to navigate.

What do you dislike?

The reports are not able to be printed/produced by product. Our organization has 53 products, and the client-facing report must be produced by product in order to be meaningful to our customers. Today, this is not part of the functionality and is very much a stumbling block to our adoption of the tool.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Be sure that your client-facing reports are specific enough to be meaningful to your client base.

"FinancialForce PSA Review"

What do you like best?

I'm a huge fan of Salesforce. Extending the user of Salesforce and keeping tools inside of Salesforce has tremendous value to me. From what I've seen this is one of the better project management tools out there.

What do you dislike?

It can be a bohemoth. The most value is gained when you use ALL of its features, but that can be a lot to take on. I've been surprised by some of the design decisions as well. For example, for a resource to take vacation it's assigned to a generic global project? Seems counter-intuitive to a newbie. I've been surprised a number of times at how the system works and some of the interface choices.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Proper training, get full commitment from the business to use it consistently, and use ALL of it to maximize benefits.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Traditional PSA team problem, x number of projects, x number of resources and lining them up. Have issues with staff consistently using the tool and thus they don't trust the data and still use manual processes outside of the system. Starting to capture what resources have what sklls, where their time is spent, and project metrics.

"FinancialForcePSA Review"

What do you like best?

PSA has the ability to support our organization through all aspects of the service engagement lifecycle. PSA supports everything from tracking potential engagements, to project creation, time tracking, revenue recognition, invoicing, and tracking financials. PSA

What do you dislike?

We have some issue forecasting resources with our current version of PSA. It can be difficult to forecast against future projects which have not yet been created. Therefore we are not using this functionality to track resources in PSA. This also limits our ability to use the tool to forecast metrics for the business (revenue, cost, utilization, etc..)

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

This tool provides cradle to grave support to our professional service engagements. It provides time-tracking, financial management, key performance metrics management, invoicing, revenue recognitions. It is a full service tool to our professional services organization.

"Financial Force PSA Review"

What do you like best?

I like the fact that FF is on the same platform as SF as we manage our sales process through SF. The option to create the project from the SF opp is very helpful. I really like the Gantt chart option in the project view.

What do you dislike?

Timecard is a bit complex. We have folks with disabilities working for us and the time entry view is completely inaccessible. Would be great to attach files from SF to FF without saving them to my desktop first. Moving the hours from one project to another is extremely time-consuming.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

More detailed revenue and backlog tracking. Tracking due dates and LOEs.

"Excellent Business Expenses Tool"

What do you like best?

Ease of use. FF wasn't a hassle to pick up and figure out how to submit or log anything. The entire process is streamlined to the user to make it quick and painless for submitting expense reports. The interface is simple easy to navigate and I rarely have any technical issues. The mobile app is also a game-changer for taking photos of receipts.

What do you dislike?

The only problem I've encountered is the tendency for the system to pause whenever inputting numbers for your expenses, sometimes forcing an accidental switch from USD to something like Australian dollars. This can be an annoyance but is a minute issue overall.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I don't see how any other system could top FinancialForce other than perhaps cost. I would highly recommend it as a vital tool for transforming your expense process and making the lives of employees easier.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Expense reports can be a big pain after a business trip, especially when seemingly have 20+ receipts to sort through and log. FinancialForce delivers an experience that alleviates the pain makes you feel like you can get everything submitted in just a few minutes. Considering there are many other platforms out there that only frustrate further, I'm happy to make it my expense creator every time.
