"Fully featured and flexible for many uses"

What do you like best?

I like that this can be configured to support nearly any kind of business, for any need. It is relevant for small companies as well as large. There are not many things that we have tried to do that we could not, and we have really pushed those limits!

What do you dislike?

Sometimes the flexibility makes it difficult to determine the "best practice" or right path for a certain business. And then there are areas that really aren't flexible enough, like some of the visual force pages.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I highly recommend FF PSA. It really can do pretty much anything you need.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

More and more frequently, we find that PSA is being used as the engine and we are able to build layers on top of that engine to suit the various types of businesses that want to use it. It has certainly become more flexible over time, and that is a good direction. Most of our clients have realized shorter turnaround times for information related to project delivery and financial data related to their delivery.

"PSA V16.5 Preview"

What do you like best?

The PSA has always been a robust and versatile for use across organizations for many functionalities, and it just keeps getting better!!

The functionality and features can be customized based on the scenario and this helps a lot, as many attributes / parameters keep changing and different portfolios within the organization requires to operate differently and thereby requiring special customization, which allows ease of project management and provides a level of control in all the chaos..

What do you dislike?

It keeps getting updated and it's a special chore trying to keep up with all the module changes (especially minor ones) and the document mentioning the updates is more like a commentary than a job aid, if this was support by the pictorial representation and all the changes and updates are identified clearly and highlighted and aided with screen shots, then it would be much easier to understand the differences.

A very Powerful and Robust tool and surefire solution to many of your problems.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

A lot of manual tracking, emailing and excel computations are being replaced by Financial Force Professional Services Automation and the Apps that come with using it.

using FF allows for running multiple applications at the same location, (thereby proving Financial force's robustness), allowing the users to use a varied set of tools to run at the same place. This turnkey feature not only helps in terms of compatibility, but also ensures comfortability in terms of having all the apps needed in one place.

"Review from a developer"

What do you like best?

FinancialForce PSA provided a bunch of useful features for professional service company. The Timecard system suite our business mode perfectly. It can also integrating with other 3rd services like expensify to make it even more powerful. FF have a gorgeous support team can respond your requests in several hours.

What do you dislike?

With the limit of salesforce, the performance of FinancialForce PSA is not very good, especially for the billing function.

Also, as a developer , the document of FF PSA is really simple. You have to try a lot of times to figure out how the API works.

FF PSA can not support mobile devices very well, though mobile phones is the most popular devices all over the world.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Salesforce is the most popular popular cloud platform for all kinds of companies, but it lack some key features needed by professional service company. Without FF PSA, you must do a lot of development to fulfill the requirements of your company. FF PSA can make your salesforce usable for PS company with only some configurations, this will save a lot of money for small companies.

"FinancialForce PSA Review"

What do you like best?

The fact that FinancialForce PSA is on the Force.com platform makes it very easy to streamline sales nad professional services processes, in addition to reporting on key professional services metrics like utilization, customer profitability, etc..

What do you dislike?

The underlying object model for FinancialForce PSA takes some getting used to. There are a ton of utility / system objects that PSA needs in order to produce certain data sets (i.e. Est. vs. Actuals, Missing Timecards, etc.), so it can be quite a learning curve to implement the system for the untrained / initiated.

Recommendations to others considering the product

During the implementation do not neglect to get adequate training on how the underlying data sets are generated. Be completely familiar with the process of adding PSA Resources, adding new project templates, generating utilization figures, etc..

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We're currently using FinancialForce PSA to track the successful completion of professional service offerings and implementations. We have recognized benefits in streamlined reported, ease of administration, integration with sales processes, in addition to faster resource staffing.

"FinancialForce user for three years"

What do you like best?

FinancialForce PSA is highly configurable allowing us to add fields and workflows tailored to our specific business needs without having to engage a solution provider. FF manages all aspects of our PSA business - customer/internal projects, budgets, scope and resources and all related data is easily tracked for reporting purposes. Upgrades have been painless and cost effective. The FinancialForce tech support team are amazing and quick to respond.

What do you dislike?

Reporting is restricted to the native salesforce tool which is somewhat limited. It would be preferable to be able to join any number of objects in a single report. The mobile time entry solution could use some improvement. The resource planner needs enhanced color-coding.

Recommendations to others considering the product

FinancialForce is easily configurable to meet almost any need as it relates to tracking projects, financials, scheduling and resources. It is incredibly user-friendly and has great integration to Salesforce (out-of-the-box). FinancialForce's support team is fantastic! They have made it possible for us to independently configure the system to meet our ongoing needs.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have successfully automated several processes and are able to configure the system to meet our needs "on-the-fly". We have developed workflows that have reduced the time to complete many processes such as revenue and costs recognition, on-boarding resources, project set-up and project close. We have also developed alerts and triggers that makes it possible for us to make proactive decisions on endless data points.

"Increased automation and availability of management information through Financial Force PSA"

What do you like best?

One of the great benefits of Financial Force PSA is the automation and availability of information provided by FinancialForce PSA. We can quickly access to relevant project budget information with the click of button. Easy access to consultants utilization through flexible custom reporting which the end user can easily build. Dashboard functionality is a great tool to get KPIs that gives us a quick snapshot of projects and resources. Resource Planning is a great tool that helps us allocate resources more efficiently. We have a large number of custom reports created that a few resources created. Missing timecards reminders and reports are a great tool for the managers. PSA is very customizable which allowed us to create some customizations to adapt FinancialForce PSA to our processes and needs. We created a few custom reports to allow us to improve the automation with our accounting system NetSuite. Financial Force PSA allowed us to reduce the use of spreadsheets to the minimum which enabled us to be able to share information quickly with other departments and clients. We are now incorporating other teams into Financial Force PSA which allows us to increase information sharing across departments.

What do you dislike?

Inability to delegate other resources to approve timecards while a resource is on PTO. If this happens during month end then an Admin will have to manually approve each timecard individually.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I will definitely go with Financial Force PSA and make sure that you involve your key PS resources during the deployment.
