FlowTracer is versatile and powerful infrastructure software (with built-in job scheduling) for design flow development, management, and parallel execution. Any engineer, programmer, or IT professional who is used to implementing and managing flows with scripts or GNU Make will find FlowTracer a superior solution. Through its visualization and troubleshooting capabilities, complex design flows can be easily understood, maintained, and expanded.
It had better visibility in EDA tools and to compute resource utilization as compared to leading commercial tools. Its more scalable for EDA and SoC applications compared to general purpose enterprise tools. We had good access to the FlowTracer's development cycle and releases, so it was helpful for us to give our requests. Its really surprising that this tool is not widely used.

Initially the installation was little rough. The analytical and reporting capabilities could be better

Any design manager will require something like FlowTracer. Its easy to use and has a great team to support. Its easily customizable and the company takes our feedback for each of their releases. So its easier to get your required features in the tool
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We used the Flow Tracker tool mostly for Logic verification and analog simulation. The tool was very helpful to avoid silly screw-up in some forgotten file update that tanks chances on first-silicon success
