"Simple and User Friendly Telematics Application"

What do you like best?

I am a fan of the ease-of-use regarding vehicle organization, i.e. it is easy to find a specific unit from the fleet list. I also like the ability it gives you regarding adding drivers and information in a straight-forward manner, with minimal navigating through several different screens to get to where you need to go.

What do you dislike?

There honestly isn't much that I didn't like about it, especially when compared to other telematic platforms. I would like to see a better historical trip tracking function, in terms of determining where a vehicle has been in the past and between specific dates. It is a little confusing at times.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Ease of use, ease of install, and low price should make anyone consider this particular product for their fleet management.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Keeping track of fleet mileage for tax purposes is much easier when using Geotab, and eliminates the possibility of major errors regarding improper mileage tracking. The information that is gathered is kept in a way that makes it easy to access for monthly billing and accounting purposes, and by extension easy to access in case of audit.

"Geotab is excellent for GPS tracking"

What do you like best?

It's great to be able to have our entire fleet visible on the map. You can also keep track of the odometer readings so it's easy to track mileage for oil changes. The pricing is very reasonable as well with the ability to choose levels of options so you can find one that's right for your budget.

What do you dislike?

There isn't much I don't like about this system. Setting up maintenance reminders can be tricky.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Geotab. They're a great company to deal with and will look for the best solution/price point for your needs. They were one of the first GPS companies to contact us with the most reasonable service plans, we haven't looked back. They keep up with times to remain competitive in a rapidly growing market.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We're not able to see our entire fleet so if a client calls with an issue we can send the closest truck. It's extremely helpful for that reason during the snow season. Tracking truck mileage is great too, so we can confirm when trucks need oil changes. It's also great to be able to have diagnostics available if a warning light is up on the dash. We can send to our mechanic who can let us know if the truck needs to go in ASAP or if we have some time.

"necessary for work"

What do you like best?

I like that it allows us to do out pre-trip vehicle inspections and asks all the necessary questions. and that it helps to verify who the last user was.

What do you dislike?

I do not like all the additional steps that need to be made to log in and out of a "vehicle use." there are many additional steps to the inspection that make it more inconvenient for using.

If it is new in your company, ensure other around you have knowledge how to use it and are able to teach you about it.

Problems include being very inconvenient and timely to use in a highly active environment, it delays work responsibilities.

"Functional Freeware with the Functionality of a Paid Service"

What do you like best?

I love that I can track my fleet in real time. This allows me to provide accurate time estimates to our next stops, as well as allows us to replan our day if needed. We somethings need to move techs around and the map has a great feature that allows you to see the truck closest to any location you choose.

What do you dislike?

The maps can be a bit clunky and are not smooth like following a GPS for instance. Would like if it were more like a GPS with my fleet's location at all times. The map is not only slow sometimes, it looks a bit low tech. Would love to see improved map performance and an updated look.

Understand the platform's limitations and its strengths and use both to your advantage.

We can track our service technicians and not only see where they are along their route, but we can also compile data such as how long each job takes, etc. We also have a back up for when a client questions how long a job takes us as we can say "this technician was at your residence for x amount of time."

"Gets the job done"

What do you like best?

I like how specific and detailed the program is. It allows us to thoroughly do checks on the company vehicles without questioning who had used it last or the current condition of it when the previous shift ended.

What do you dislike?

I dislike how much time it takes to complete the tasks on the program for the pretrip inspection.

Its solving the issue of knowing who used the vehicle last and allows the company to stay up to date on the maintenance of the vehicles. It is beneficial to have the specific details and guidelines in place

"Great telematics product"

What do you like best?

Geotab has the ability to pull all kinds of data from vehicles and has real-time tracking, which is a major plus.

What do you dislike?

It can have a tough learning curve and can sometimes be hard to support.

Geotab has given the company a better solution to telematics that is reasonably priced and fills the gap that we had. They are responsive and are always adding new features

"Great for the tracking and logistics of our fleet."

What do you like best?

The precise location ability, the trouble diagnostics, and the history tracking.

What do you dislike?

There isn't much to complain about. There is sometimes a lag in response, but that is to be expected.

Easy to use, and monitor fleet in multiple locations

"Horrible company - SDK is garbage - contacting someone is nearly impossible"

What do you like best?

Nothing, there is literally nothing to like

What do you dislike?

Everything. The forums go unmonitored, I have posts "waiting approval" that are months old. There is no response, the samples they provide are unrealistic for real world uses

Find someone else. They offer no ESRI support, they are unresponsive to any questions and the samples are unrealistic and outdated
