"Very good software to sync folders easily"

What do you like best?

This software is really useful. You can create different "jobs" with different settings to suit your needs. You have the ability to exclude files based on wildcards, size and date/time. You can also visualize what would be synchronized before it happens and you can then change/cancel certain file synchronization if you want. In the several years I've been using it, I hadn't had any problem with it.

What do you dislike?

I don't use the software to it's full potential. There are several features that I don't need or use. So, for me, there is nothing I dislike about it.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you are looking for a software to synchronize files easily, this is it. You can create different "jobs" for your different needs. Be it to synchronize a single file (which I do!) or several files distributed in several folders, it will do the job. You can view what will be done before it actually happens and you can modify what will be done as well. The graphic representation is clear and easy to understand (we have non tech users that use it and they have no problems at all).

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I use this software mainly to synchronize files for our company's website. When changes are done to web pages or files added to the site, I use it to validate what changes are to be "pushed" to the website and to actually transfer the files. So, at a glance, I can see clearly what are the files modified, removed or added.

"Syncing made easy!"

What do you like best?

I like that it is so easy to sync all files between computers, devices, google drive and etc. Comes in almost real time and its fast. Backing up is just as easy for any devices and even portable drives.

What do you dislike?

Some issues with it is that is sometimes not ready for use with the best options. If you want the best result you have to change some of the settings, that's if you know what you are doing. But other than that it is a good product.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Makes life easy. Never worry about losing your data because it can always be backed up. syncing files is also easy.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Saving time, which saves me money. You can schedule your backups so you can do them over night and not have to wait during the day for them to backup.

"Need to sync some directories? Options, options, options."

What do you like best?

Goodsync is a beefy sync tool which puts bi-directional syncing at your fingertips using a variety of options and protocols. FTP, SFTP, Amazon S3, Google Drive, SkyDrive, WebDAV, Azure. Syncing can be done between computers, mobile devices and a variety of cloud services.

What do you dislike?

I found Goodsync to be a bit heavy-handed, resource intensive and "tinkery." If you enjoy tweaking your software, and don't mind solving sync issues and overall intrusiveness in your workflow, then this is a good thing for you.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I ended up testing some less heavy-handed solutions, ones with simpler deployment and quicker setup.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I have multiple PCs, Macs and mobile devices sharing working directories selectively over home, office and remote networks.

"Excellent back-up tool!"

What do you like best?

Very easy to set-up and schedule. Can be set-up to back-up instantly as as file is changed or do a daily/weekly back-up. Will back-up all drives, not just internal hard drive

What do you dislike?

I am completely happy with the product. I have no complaints.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Worth the cost. Can back-up all your drives, not just your internal hard drive.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Backing up files. Immediate back-up on file change is peace of mind.

"Better than SyncToy"

What do you like best?

GoodSync has a better interface than the Windows native SyncToy. GoodSync improves the user interface by applying tabs for different tasks. Unlike SyncToy, it has its own scheduler, so you don't need an external scheduler to make it repeat jiobs on a periodic base. In summary, a very useful application.

What do you dislike?

There is not much to dislike. It's user-friendly and easy to use.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Backing up code between different machines on a daily schedule. It does the job well and reliably.
