"Doing Important Medical Work with Ancient Tech"

What do you like best?

I like that, with its very limited abilities, it is trustworthy. I can always count on it to do the very little amount that it is able to do. I never have to worry that information will be lost - which is a problem with other software that we use.

What do you dislike?

The setup and buttons and information are archaic. It feels like using a very old computer and it is problematic. I have to click so many things, I have to pause and click, and pause and click every time I want to do very simple tasks. Also - any time that I want to search our schedule, I have to reload it. There is no way to filter the schedule for open spots, so you have to click through and search and you can only do that for 5 days in a row before you have to reset the information again.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I woudl not recomend this to anybody else. This is an old program and it does not look like they are trying to upgrade it or make it more useful.

Scheduling appointments, entering insurance info, and tracking future and past appointments.

"An archaic mess that needs to be put down."

What do you like best?

There is not much that I like about this software at all. However, the fact that when you type in a zip code it assumes the city and state is very nice. Also it is pretty reliable, for the little that it does.

What do you dislike?

You have to click so many times. The design is very old and reminds me of a mid 1990s Macintosh. Not at all user friendly, and quite glitchy. The scheduling aspect is very difficult to work with and you always end up having to refresh and re-select different parts every time you use it.

Recommendations to others considering the product

There have got to be many other softwares for medical management and scheduling, this one seems ancient. Go ahead and keep looking until you find a software that is more user friendly for you. This one in particular seems like it is way behind in the field. Other companies probably have much better options and areas where you can move through your scheduling much more seamlessly and without the inconvenience.

"Definitely NOT good for an FQHC - would be OK for a stand-alone practice though"

What do you like best?

One of the few good things about PrimeSuite is that it has the ability to capture and display a "Preferred" name.

What do you dislike?

PS Can't display lab values along with dates that the value was collected. It has limited ability to cross-reference different data tables when trying to run reports (you'll literally need to know how to write SQL Statements to get the info you need all in one report). It maps natively to ICD-9 codes and only seems to overlay ICD-10 codes, there doesn't seem to be any native ICD-10 mapping. There is very little support if you are an FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) that is running this software. Areas of the program can't be locked down (i.e. the FQHC module) and any user could tamper with the FQHC structured back-end data if they really wanted to sabotage the organization. The user-end security is rudimentary and basically if you build a user profile, they have access to mostly all areas of a patient's chart.

Consider other EMR Software like NextGen or eClinicalWorks.

We use PrimeSuite as our Electronic Medical Record, however it is bulky and outdated. The billing end is laborious if you are an FQHC and mostly all charges have to be hand-keyed manually for billing to be processed correctly.

"Not always the Easiest"

What do you like best?

I like that it provides a lot of information about the person and easily shows previous and future appointments that the patient has.

What do you dislike?

It can sometimes be confusing about which appointments patients have had, usually because user error so it is not completely the software's fault.

Recommendations to others considering the product

We use this software in order to schedule, track patient appointments, and see the progress of our scheduled patient visits. Administrators can block off times so other employees can see when and when not to schedule a patient which is a good thing to have. However, I would suggest a different software if there will be a lot of patients considering there seems to be a lot of bugs. I know our office has had a lot of difficulty of the software deleting things or certain appointments disappearing. I will say user error could be part of the issue but I know it isn't always the easiest to use. Some people on the clinical team have used other systems that they enjoyed more and they felt were easier to use. I typically use Greenway for scheduling reports and those are not very easy to pull. I use a remote desktop in order to access Greenway so that is part of the problem but even then the reports are not always simple to retrieve.

Our company uses this software to track and schedule patients for office visits. It is nice to easily check in a patient and check out a patient and it is also pretty simple to find all the information you need about a patient.

"Medical Practice Management"

What do you like best?

Vendor support is excellent. GUI is laid out very well.

What do you dislike?

Client installation processes. Requires old outdated software (AdobeSVG) as prerequisites. Doesn't work as well on big high def monitors. New versions have not met date expectations. Updates are late that might cause fines on the practice.

We manage our systems physician offices with this.

What do you like best?

It is easy to access and login to system.

What do you dislike?

Simple tasks like printing are made much more complicated because of the amount of steps it takes to get to certain pages.

It is much more efficient than the paper charting previously used which makes it much easier to store and access information.

"greenway"

What do you like best?

The interface overall is ok, it is configurable to a point.

the color scheme is ok also.

not much that I can say that is good about this product, but that is true of most EMR programs

What do you dislike?

very slow at times, way too many clicks to do simple tasks.

When any reports are being done, the whole system slows to a crawl.

updates are not tested very well and usually cause issues after they are installed.

evaluate other software before you buy this one

the only benefits are that it keeps patient records and allows you to bill patients.

"PrimeSuite Greenway"

What do you like best?

The task option is the best for this. As well as being able to open the schedule for the day with one function key. Also I find the desktop are great for setting up to view patients chart.

What do you dislike?

I dislike about PrimeSuite Greenway how the orders tracking get changed from ordered to pending to reviewed right now. It is not seamless.

I recommend getting substantial training.

"Greenway Health.. mehh"

What do you like best?

ease of refilling meds

PrimeSuite is great for keeping tabs on patients visits, and doctors schedules.

"Easy to use"

What do you like best?

PrimeSuite is very easy to use. Finding something in the system may take a little time, but I can always figure out the issue on my own.

What do you dislike?

The reporting for PrimeSuite is lacking. I would like an easier way to pull and build reports.

"Nice looking system"

What do you like best?

Interface/software is nice looking. Seems easy to navigate and use.

Notes/templates are easy to use and customize.

What do you dislike?

Often slow. You're pulling from Greenway Health's server and they often have connectivity issues. Updates are often still buggy. Takes a long time to get a change implemented.

"Use of PrimeSuite Software"

What do you like best?

PrimeSuite is user friendly. Profiles are easy to set up and going from one tab to another without losing data is great.

There are any features that i dislike. Everything about PrimeSuites can be easily learned.

"Easy to use EMR"

What do you like best?

The ease of use for multi practice types.

What do you dislike?

It’s very difficult to teach others that are new to the software how to learn it. Which negatively affects the flow of clinic.

Primesuite has helped with patient documentation and ease of prescribing has been amazing and impactful to the clinical side of the practice.
