What do you like best?
I like that it has many USEFUL tools to keep track of your clients and business partners, to schedule, to collaborate with fellow colleagues, and I love its integration tools.
Another great tool is tracking deals! This is a God-send because it enables the whole team to estimate deals, track how well or bad a deal is going and to remember to follow up on deals.
It is extremely easy to set up so all member of the team can get started without advance training. Literally took all of us less than an hour to get started, import all of our database and start using it.
I also like the way it gathers information about a company, especially a public company, which really saves us time in research. It gathers things like company industry, their yearly profit and number of employees. This helps us when we start negotiating deals.
I also like the filtering process of finding contacts or companies - it is a minor tool but it is amazing for someone coming from Excel.
What do you dislike?
I don't like that each user is tracked with just one email. This means that if an individual has more than one email, it either doesn't track the other email or create them as a new contact.
Also, I wish they would find a way to implement Mac Mail or Outlook for Mac so that we can implement the tracking of email and the tracking of opened email feature. For now, we use their bcc and forward technique to keep track of email sent and received but we have to remember to do it for each email sent, instead of it being automatic.
Recommendations to others considering the product
HubSpot is worth it to try. However, if you really want to track emails that are opened then be sure to be using Windows. This is because they have yet to implement it for Mac users.
But, compared to the amount of features readily available for free, it is an amazing tool for a growing company. Give yourself about an hour to go through the basics via YouTube or their training videos to understand how it work, and then it should be a breeze to start.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
As a B2B and B2C company, we have to have ways to access all of our contacts, track our communication with them so that we do not forget to call or contact people, track our deals and being able to filter and tag people for various purposes. With Hubspot, it allows these tools and more.
Also, it allows for ease of collaboration with the rest of the team - so you can send a member of team tasks, you can see their next appointment or how far they are with their current tasks. It really helps in terms of communication and business work effectiveness. And I have seen an improvement with our overall management team.
