"Review Of Huddle"

What do you like best?

The aspect I like most is the ease of sharing. the platform allows me share documents and folders with colleagues however it also allows me to assign to certain people what they can or can't view and can or can't edit.

What do you dislike?

The aspect I dislike is the interface. it's not that I really dislike it it's just I feel this is an area it can improve on.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I would definitely choose huddle as it is a fantastic platform for file sharing.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The benefits I have realised is the ease of us as a company being able to share files between or European and American offices. This allows us to upload and let another colleague deal with a file and we can use it when it is ready rather than pinging emails back and forth.

"Pleasant and Efficient Experience"

What do you like best?

I enjoy being able to immediately change the status of a project that's been assigned on Huddle as well as being able to quickly upload files.

What do you dislike?

The user interface seems very busy at times; on some pages, I must scroll down through hundreds of lines of open projects to find the one I'm looking for, and the amount of text/data that I must attempt to cognitively process is overwhelming.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you have cross-functional teams working across the world on the same projects, I highly recommend Huddle as a way of keeping track of everything rather than relying on email, phone calls, or other hard-to-track methods.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I work with a cross-functional team of writers, editors, medical reviewers, copyeditors, and web designers working in different parts of the world who all contribute to the same pool of articles at different points in the editorial process, and Huddle makes it incredibly easy to feel like we're all working in the same office with the ability to all see the same projects at the same time in real time.

What Team Collaboration solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"All of the versions, whenever you need them"

What do you like best?

The version control aspect means you never lose a previous version of a document you've worked on. The search function is also excellent. When you have a lot of workspaces in an organisation, it can be tricky finding the right workspace your file is in, but the ability to search all of your workspaces means that this is never an issues.

What do you dislike?

The fact that you can't amend a version when needed, like for instance if you accidentally save a copy of the document you didn't need. Even though you can delete the version, the version numbering will not reset. As we use Huddle for our Controlled Documents, it would be good to have this kind of functionality.

And although it has a "Task" function, it takes a lot of effort to update tasks. There are better task management software on the market.

The ability to edit documents online using Office Online is only ok, but this will improve as Microsoft improve the functionalities of their online product.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It's like Dropbox, only better because you can never lose a copy of you document. Someone saves over your file? No problem, just restore the last version! Want to restrict access to a folder to read-only? It only takes 2 clicks.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Sharing documents throughout the organisations, with our other offices and with our clients and subcontractors is easy. Everyone automatically has access to the correct version and it's secure.

"Great tool for collaboration"

What do you like best?

This software is great for collaboration. It is easy to share files and to see who has contributed to the file. It also saves all versions of the document so that you don't have to be confused as to the most recent version.

What do you dislike?

As this software automatically updates your document to the most current version, you cannot have coworkers edit simultaneously.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Huddle is very user friendly and intuitive to use. However, it will take an up front investment of time to set up the system. For instance, if you decide to use this system to store files, you will need to take time at the beginning to establish a naming convention for easier filing. You can also assign specific people access to a certain folder or document, and those rules would need to be established before rolling the system out.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It has allowed a faster turn around time to collaborate and development documents. We use this frequently to share documents across different offices. It has a feature where you can sign different tasks to an individual and they will be notified of their task. Huddle will also send reminders when a task needs to be completed. If you are the document owner, you will also be notified whenever there have been changes or progress made so that you can see everything in real time.

"Pretty good collaboration software..."

What do you like best?

Huddle makes it easy to collaborate with coworkers by reducing endless email chains and keeping projects focused. The sharing feature lets multiple people work on the same project in one central space. It's online, so it's always available.

What do you dislike?

The interface is kind of annoying. There always seemed to be changes, but usually in the realm of taking away features that I actually used. Some of my coworkers who didn't have the app didn't always have access to my messages. Not really Huddle's fault, but certainly something to consider if this would be your primary method of project management.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Worth checking out, especially for a small - medium sized businesses. I prefer other software, and you might be able to just use Google docs. But it's worth looking into!

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Huddle works great with sharing all the information (and changes) for projects. It stores all the uploaded documents, so there's the official record and paper trail. But everyone can just work off the latest version. Don't let stuff get lost in your email inbox; keep everything you need for a project in one place.

"Huddle Great Tool for Communicating, Sharing and Planning"

What do you like best?

Ease of use, robust and intuitive features

What do you dislike?

Nothing at this time (version). Huddle does everything we need it to do.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Huddle makes sharing information, managing projects and connecting with the right people simple and efficient. Huddle can also be accessed from anywhere, at any time and on any device. Regardless of whether employees are in the office, work can continue.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Project management, workflow, approvals, photo library, Website production (Launch)

1. Provide an easy, out of the box solution that does not require any customization or internal IT resources for development support.

2. Deliver access to project content and teams, independent of location, device, and domain, through Huddle's accessibility and external collaboration solutions.

3. Centralize the management of all FAA related meetings, tasks, and documentation through Huddle's powerful workspace model. Huddle is a very robust content management tool that supports document versioning, locking, tracking, commenting, sharing, and approvals and team based permissions to easily control who has access to your files.

4. Enable government grade security in support of various FAA initiatives (Huddle is FedRAMP certified), improving the effectiveness and oversight of deliverables and project schedules.

5. Facilitate access using different devices and operating systems

"Great service & support for a powerful product"

What do you like best?

We essentially had a personal assistant to help onboard our use of Huddle within our project team. He joined some of our project management calls, was regularly in contact, and helped us utilize Huddle in a well-rounded way that allowed us to explore different features and improve our project management capabilities.

What do you dislike?

As with any project management system, it's only as good as what you put into it. Our team wasn't so quick to adopt and that caused some usage/performance issues.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure you have a competent and empowered administrator for Huddle, because the management of project management software is just as important as the project itself. When a team is fully committed to integrating Huddle into their work - which can be done fairly seamlessly using Outlook-based and other integration tools - the SaaS package can be an enormous boost to productivity.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Working across organizations & institutions while protecting data privacy and adding layers of security profiles for different groups of users.

"Good tool for teamwork"

What do you like best?

All versions of the documents are saved.

Easy to open the document in MS Office.

What do you dislike?

No tracking of changes capability for MS Excel yet.

If Huddle was like Dropbox or Onedrive where there is an online platform but also the same platform is available through the MS OS - that would be fantastic!

Recommendations to others considering the product

Easy to use software with no "deletions by mistake" being possible.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Older versions with valuable information are not lost because a version can't be "deleted by accident".

Easy recovery of date.

Folders and filing system is useful.

"Great product for Enterprise Collaboration over Cloud"

What do you like best?

Huddle is an excellent on-line service in project management for managing files and folders. Logical organization of space and easy to use interface makes it a cakewalk to manage files and folders at one place.

It uses a simple structure based on project folder containing sub folders. A person accessing files located in these sub folders needs permission. This feature does not allow any unwanted person to access information.

It has an excellent feature i.e. version control to manage product development using hurdle space. Hurdle can be termed as enterprise content management system having features of version control and auditing.

It makes collaboration simple by easily sharing folders. With its sharing feature employees can conduct work projects in a multi-user, central online environment.

It can be access from any internet connected computer with no downloads involved. Huddle optimizes the process of finding the right person for each job by allocating resources by skill set.

What do you dislike?

There is ambiguity in explaining services what they can offer. Before using huddle for file management it requires a lengthy learning process which can be tiresome.

If you are looking for advanced features like more work space and tracking of document version you have to pay for the packages. The free account is supported by advertisements in between and provides limited space.

It does not use role based permissions which creates nuisance to manage individual permission. You cannot customize this software according to your needs. It misses Gantt Charts which is an important tool.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you want to work in sync with your team members, then using enterprise CMS huddle is the solution for that. It is designed for small-medium businesses providing reporting, issue tracking, collaboration, task management and resource management functionality. It can be accessed via the online web application or mobile device from a remote place.

Managers can be on top of key project activities from a remote place using Huddle. But it should use role based permissions Gantt Charts and customization features to make it a software of your choice.

Overall huddle is excellent in its collaboration abilities. There are many PM solutions in the market which are more feature rich then huddle but still huddle has a mark of its own. Even though it lacks some features it is worth trying it for once.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Huddle is wonderful enterprise CMS to collaborate and manage hundreds of documents created by your employee constantly.

It improves company’s productivity with its secure additional feature like document imaging, cloud storage, extensive history and version control.

The most recent version can be accessed and changes can be made in the documents. It has extensive audit trial recording activity for each files. It enables you to access a file and see the changes made with its security option of setting permissions for files. No unwanted individuals can view or edit a document.

"Huddle- Great for working in large groups!"

What do you like best?

I work in an environment where dozens of staff members from multiple different organizations must work together to write, review, and finalize documents. We used to conduct it over email, which led to numerous issues with version control, failure to include all the right people, and questions over whose court a ball was in. Moving to Huddle was a dramatic improvement that allowed us to effectively collaborate.

What do you dislike?

I have no major complaints. There have been cases of system downtime or cases where a document update would not save, but they have been rare. We also occasionally deal with very large documents, which are more difficult to upload and manage than the standard, relatively small word documents or Excel files.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Allows for more effective collaboration, as described above. Also serves as a useful repository for the large number of files that we maintain.

"Huddle - almost..."

What do you like best?

The Huddle Desktop app is becoming genuinely useful and the web interface is OK. They support SAML so we can integrate with identity providers like OKTA

What do you dislike?

Not always reliable, and slows down mid-late afternoon UK time for us (presumably when the US West Cost start work). We find the task management support virtually useless - if it was made more document-related it would be much better. Lack of admin visibility to deleted documents and the lack of any way to get them back is a major PITA - we pay for an additional service to keep a copy of all files offline so we can recover for deletions.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Think about how you will deal with files that are deleted as you won't know they have gone...

"Great platform"

What do you like best?

The ability to work on documents and collaborate on projects from afar with multiple people. Also like the commenting options.

What do you dislike?

I really wish Pages documents could be uploaded! I don't like how there are two separate comment areas (dashboard and under the document itself). There should only be one, or they should be linked. I also hate how sometimes I have to restart my computer in order to get some files to open/sync with my Mac (even though I use the desktop app).

"Great when it works"

What do you like best?

Huddle is an effective tool for sharing documents and collaborating.

What do you dislike?

It is quite glitchy, which reduces its effectiveness significantly. I often have to repair it or restart my computer to be able to open files.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have addressed the issue of overlapping workstreams-- when everything can be shared and visible, our offices can benefit from what has been done before, rather than reinventing the wheel. Great time-saver when you can simply do a search for what has been done before.

"All the wrong features"

What do you like best?

Availability was never a problem, we used it for ~6 years

What do you dislike?

The "approval" process for a document was never good enough or simple enough for my clients. Constant changes to the UX, often removing a feature that I had used frequently, and the search function is horrible. Their entire directory structure needs an overhaul, They don't allow recursive searching for files, only within a single directory or at a project level, and those options are in different interfaces. Again, begging for a UX overhaul.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Demand that they offer you a method to backup your own files at their expense. They currently have a 3rd party vendor offering the "download everything" application, and when one of my clients needed an offline backup it was a bit of drama.

"Cloud collaboration"

What do you like best?

This is an easy to use and manage document sharing and collaboration tool. It provides an easy to manage, project-oriented collaboration system. It's an improvement over google docs and a lot easier to manage than sharepoint. You get document management with versioning and workflow, forums, whiteboards, tasks and share calendars.

What do you dislike?

Dropbox-style synchronization is only available for Windows, the OSX client is coming soon. I'd prefer to have wikis over whiteboards.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you work in an multi-project environment and you are using google docs, then I'd recommend you look at Huddle. It's a lot easier to manage that google docs. If you're looking for a cloud ECM for a mid-sized business, check it out.
