What do you like best?

Fully deployed IBM Service Management Suite will be easy to operate single point of control and monitoring for multiple IT systems, such as DB2, WebSphere, storage drives and mainframe z/OS. Thera ere many applications that allow IT administrator control and monitor health of multiple systems. This will enable you to create automated scripts and operations, which will work across several systems. Training time to work with IBM Service Management Suite is is not too long and IT Administrators could start working with the system in very short time.

What do you dislike?

Deployment and configuration of the Suite will require a significant effort. However, if it is fully deployed, it will save time.

Particularly UNIX configuration is not straightforward. there is not much documentation regarding automation. Professional Service consultancy will be required to automate control and management of services.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Yes, I recommend IBM Service Management Suite for x/OS for IT departments, which have to manage and maintain mainframe X/OS and multiple middleware systems, such as WebSphere. The fully implemented Suite will enable goo cost savings and consolidated management approach for all the systems.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Cost reduction for management of multiple systems. Predicted and constant availability of the systems and predictability of high performance of the systems in different work conditions - predicted performance.

Risk mitigation for systems failure and low cost for disaster recovery.

Bottomline - significantly lower IT operational cost.

What do you like best?

I like the multiple features it offers. It's a well thought out product because of that fact. I can get my work done accordingly using it, and easy to use for the most part.

What do you dislike?

I really dislike the user interface. The design is kinda clunky and not pretty to use. The speed is also another problem with it. I think it might have to do with the clunkiness of the UI, so loading anything just takes longer than I'd expect.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Give it a nicer user interface that is both quick and pretty. I would never choose this product personally because of this fact. There are so many other solutions that are faster and prettier, so it is definitely not a product I would recommend to anyone.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use it for sprint planning and bug tracking, so we solve anything tech related within the company with it. It's integration with visual studio is perfect, because you can attach anything code related to the issue or task number pretty easily.

There is nothing really that we dislike about the content itself but it tends to be a little on the expensive side of things which can make it somewhat cost prohibitive.

What do you like best?

Excellent as single point of contact between the systems. Great for optimizing your networks performance. The auto based and monitoring on the program are really exceptional to say the least.

What do you dislike?

Nothing really that I can think of, when the program was created they really did plan ahead for the future and it really is ahead of the game compared to similar products.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Really does everything you would want it to.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Having one point of contact for the systems, being more efficient than ever, and also allowing to reduce costs make separate from competitors.
