The team at Iconixx is tailoring a solution that is catered to my companies specific needs, they have gone well beyond an out of the box software company. They take the time to listen to our specific needs and help us realize solutions to our specific complex issues. The training one the training on the product is phenomenal. The training is very in-depth without being overwhelming or going too quickly.
Being in Alaska there is always the struggle with working with vendors in the lower 48 due to time zone issues, but Iconixx has worked with our schedule and has been available anytime we have needed them. Beyond moving to Alaska there is nothing to improve.
Our previous process for sales compensation included large excel files that require manual manipulation. Iconixx has provided a more streamlined/automated approach and one full implementation is done will greatly reduce the amount of work performed by the administrators. This product will also provide our company with a transparency to our sales team that has not existed in the past, which in turn we hope will become a motivator for the sales reps.
First and foremost, the people. The team is made up of intelligent, enthusiastic, and genuine people. Additionally, once you are familiar with the system, calculating comp and running reports are literally clicks of the mouse. The greatest aspect for me, is the reporting. I once created reports manually from multiple workbooks and sources. Now, once I create a report, I can use it whenever I want, and the information is at my fingertips.
For me, the most difficult part is getting my message (requirements) to my team so that the initial design covers what is needed. The requirement process and document was pretty painful to walk through, as it is very detailed (which is good), but also confusing, as it is a technical document. And I'm not technical. So, trying to communicate my needs and process into a technical sense only confused me and then later, confused my team/consultant. We all agreed, the wording in the document was open to interpretation. This has caused change orders and rework. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, but that process has been frustrating.
Tons: general errors (over payment, underpayment, paying the wrong payee, missing a payment completely), shadow accounting, manual reporting, distrust in the comp process due to lack of information being provided (which will now be solved with dashboards and drill downs), and overall manual processes.
System is totally flexible to your requirements. Easy to load data, run the calculation, and receive your results. Dashboards make it easy for the sales reps to monitor their sales progress and payments. No longer have to download and send results each month. Saves so much time!
Would like more flexibility to make your own changes to the dashboard or other areas that are restricted. We have Payment Summaries and when we modify or create a new plan, are unable to create a new payment summary for that plan. Overall, wouldn't say I dislike anything.
Give them a chance. Have your plans documented to make implementation a breeze.
Eliminating the manual Excel process and errors that can occur when cutting and pasting data etc. We can now provide daily updates to the sales reps and management on their commission goals.. Time saving tool that allows you more time to work on other tasks.
The people, the product and the atmosphere is fabulous!
It is hard to set aside the time each week, but the Iconixx team is flexible and honest about the impact of delaying meetings in regards to the Go-Live date.
Best product in the industry. We looked at others, but Iconixx meets the needs if going from a manual excel calculation to automatic calculations with a push of the button to, review, submit to payroll, distribute reports.

I work for Bioventus, LLC. Our comp plans are very complex that there are so many data points to check and validate, so many dependencies to incorporate in the logic build, variety of performance matrecis to consider, even the periods set-up are totally different than the most business operations. Of all the complexities in our comp plans, Iconixx people were able to deliver according to client expectations. The people I work with in the project have the best attitudes to help out their customer, providing excellent customer service and I have not heard NO as an answer for any of my requests unless the systems limits the capability of the requests. The support is phenomenal!
With the difficulties and simplicities we had gone thru together, and we all stuck together as a great team to make the project successful, there is nothing to dislike about the business and people. We all love working together as at team and that is a great thing.

The Iconixx dashboards and the visibility available to the sales force are an improvement from our previous software. The dashboard views are also highly customizable to what data is most important to your sales team.
There are so many options to configure within the system that it can be confusing as you are learning to navigate through all the details. As you begin to work within the system, everything starts to come together.
Talk to Iconixx about your needs to determine if their software can meet your needs. The flexibility to make the software meet your needs is excellent when compared to the other compensation software options that are available.
Iconixx improves the transparency and reporting for our sales team. The software will allow us to include future looking data on both sales and bonuses. This allows our Sales Reps to have a full year view of their total sales, commissions, and bonuses where they were previously only able to see data for months that had been processed and paid. This was a very important point for our sales force.
The flexibility of the product. Being able to customize what it does for our firm and the additional benefits for down the road are exciting. The ability to report on sales by payee, by month. The creation of the comp statements and the dashboards for payees to view their status toward their monthly and/or quarterly goals has created more time for me to work on other things instead of researching for the payees.
Not a dislike but a hill to climb over - getting used to the Event Date (adding a day to the end of each month) was tough but makes sense once you're in there. The Help tool could be more functional - drop downs would be highly beneficial - above and beyond FAQ.
Accept any offer for a demonstration and/or training before choosing a package. Definitely have the end user / users part of the sales meetings so you are getting the modules that best suit current and future needs.
Reducing margin of error for manual calculations. Automating the compensation statements and creating the dashboards has reduced the need for incoming questions and research queries and freed up time. Reducing the need for Excel and the potential for system crashes has allowed for room to create further effective and useful reports.
The ability for the software to fit the any model that the customer is looking for. The usual one size fits all isn't the model, they create a system directly for the client needs.
It takes a little while to get used to the layout and settings, but this is almost entirely due to the many ways the systems can be setup based around the client demands.
Don't settle on generic abilities. Iconixx can likely develop anything that will help you.
Transparency of progress and calculation is something Excel won't allow you to show employees without creating specific reports, which is timely. With the system you can update the transactions as much as needed and employees can see there progress on there own without requests of Accounting.
Most current Incentve Solutions have provided for enterprise solution for Large Markets but struggled to provide business functionality within the required ROI for Small to Mid market clients.
Iconixx Software is a great Saas Incentive Compensation solution that bridges that gap. It not only provides robust offering in functionality but also a good ROI especially to the Small to Mid Market clients. It's easy to use interface, automation capabilities and quick turnaround on implementation from inception to deployment, make it a good fit for clients that want to implement a cost effective sales incentive solution. The automation capability, analytics and reporting along with workflow are all targeted to enable a compensation administrator in his/ her day-to-day business functions.
Unlike other vendors in the same space, it provides for a quick turnaround from engagement to deployment. The well-designed solution is a strong reflection of the team behind the solution.
Both at the consultant and leadership level, the product reflects the experience of the Iconixx team in providing
1) a business incentive solution that aligns sales with expected business objectives,
2) a technology solution that is easy to use and quick to implement for business users
3) analytic and workflow to support day-to-day business functions related to compensation.
Not sure if there is anything specific that i particularly dislike about the product at this point. I am still learning about the product, offered functionality and business needs it targets.
Understand the required sales strategy and plan your compensation plans to drive those behaviors. Once you have identified your plan strategy, really evaluate cost and implementation impacts of on-premise or Saas solution. If your preference is managed services or third party hosted solution, Iconixx Software should be one of the strong contenders to evaluate.
I can see the benefit of cost reduction in deploying Iconixx Software as a solution for a client that has a high overhead in administrative costs, longer periods of turnaround from receipt of data to payroll close and payment errors due to manual processing. In addition, the quick transition from one plan year to another or fast execution of plan changes could make it really appealing as the solution of choice.
The customization for our compensation plans has been great. Our company has some very complex calculations and we have about 6 different compensation plans and it seems that Iconixx is going to be able to tweak their system to work exactly how we need it.
The system seems very customizable so as of right now it feels a little clunky. I'm assuming this is going to get worked out before we go live.
We have well over 400 sales people that need commissions calculated for so Iconixx is going to be able to help us quickly calculate compensation for everyone. Also, sending out commission statements usually takes over a day's worth of work. Since Iconixx has statements pre-generated, it'll save a lot of processing time.
As the administrator, I like the ease of use the best, as well as the confidence I have in the data & calculations in the system.
I cant really think of have any complaints.
I've been working with Iconixx for over 3 years and from the very beginning of the relationship they have made us feel like their most important client. We have very complex sales plans and processes and Iconixx has tackled every assignment with high competence and a great attitude. The platform is incredibly flexible and makes it easy for us to make regular plan changes.
Recently we expanded our relationship to include their Merit module and the response from our people was that is was the smoothest merit cycle ever. I can't provide a more positive endorsement than that.
A lot of companies "tell" you they want to hear your comments and feedback. Iconixx almost demands it and then follows up with constant upgrades and improvements. I can't provide a higher recommendation for the Iconixx product and their people.

The best feature in my opinion is the ease of exporting data. Generally, anything in the system can come out of the system into either a CSV, XLS, PDF or TXT document with just the click of a button. It has made not only paying commissions a smoother, more efficient process, but has also helped us in our financial analysis because we can extract many pieces of “clean data” out of the system.
The timeshift function can be frustrating, but our implementation team did an excellent job explaining the appropriate use of it. Katja, Chris and the rest of the team we worked with were extremely knowledgeable and it was evident at various points of our implementation.
Invest the time into the planning calls and give it your full attention during start up...makes it much easier down the line!

Not sure if it caters to multi-national organisations which operate in different timezones/currencies, etc. This is important for those that manage different currencies for quotas and commission payouts/revenue credits, etc.

My company is beginning implementation and user testing. We are excited that Iconixx should be able to handle all our compensation needs and enhance our current process and reporting. It will also give our sales staff more visibility into their compensation.
We are still in the testing phase and not close to implementation so there is nothing I can think of that I don't like.
Iconixx will be able to give our sales staff their entire compensation plan information. They will have visibility into their future projections and their full earning potential as well as provide better reporting. Administrators will also have more capabilities in the system to monitor compensation and provide reporting to executive management. Workflows is also an additional feature that we currently do not have
Prior to our company using Iconixx, we had members of our sales operations and finance teams manually calculating compensation. We would pull data from our ERP, and literally cut and paste the data into our compensation spreadsheet. Each month, we would receive ~ 3-5 inquiries from reps relating to their commission check being incorrect. (That doesn't even factor in the ones that were potentially overpaid, who likely wouldn't come forward in that case). Iconixx has changed the game completely for us. We now have a centralized system that our compensation is calculated through, and visibility organization-wide. Now instead of 3-5 inquiries that have to be dealt with over the phone, by emails, with certain managers required to approve overrides (also by email), we have reps that completely understand the components of their plans, and how to maximize their check . Our reps have a new-found trust in our compensation, and we've found morale to be higher as they're in love with the dashboards. Our finance team, gets to "nerd out" now with the modeling/forecasting functionality that Iconixx has enable them to have. Prior to do this, they would have to export all of the data to excel, and manually create certain analyses. The iconixx team uncovered errors in our calculations as we were going through the activation process(So we literally had value days after ink was put to paper).
Looking at the process that we were dealing with before, there's not much that I can say as far as complaints relating to the company. They completely revolutionized our process. I'd say we were riding horses prior to Iconixx bringing us the car (If that analogy makes sense)
If you're using excel or a homegrown system, then I would highly recommend reaching out to them just to have the conversation. When we first started talks with Iconixx, they were very consultative, and didn't seem like they were just trying to sell us the bells and whistle. They were up front with price, so we felt ok disclosing some variables such as our annual compensation payout, which relayed into both of us discovering the business case was DEFINITELY here. My recommendation - Just reach out and have the conversation. From our experience, you're not going to get sold - you're going to have a discussion about your business, your process, and whether or not the problem is a personal problem or a business problem.
Above I basically went over this question, but I'll summarize here. The business problem we are solving, is a lack of flexibility/visibility in our former compensation process, the removal of a manual process that was inherently error-prone, as the activation team at Iconixx was able to uncover some errors in our formulas, before we had them automated in the system, and the amount of time we are now able to focus on strategic initiatives(and not calculate comp). There might be a few "soft" benefits included here(intangible somewhat), but based on our annual compensation payout, and Iconixx's cost, we are realizing a positive "hard" ROI without all of the "fluffy" benefits that we've also realized.
People are great, and the software seems to be very flexible and user friendly.

Iconixx has partnered with our organization in our sales transformation initiative, and has offered very personalized service to ensure that we reach our end-state. The application was clearly superior to the incumbent application we were using, as well as other competitive applications we explored as part of our research. Iconixx integrates with our CRM, allowing our salespeople direct visibility into how fulfillment of products they sell translates to their monthly compensation. Our organization will realize substantial cost savings in years two and three of contract over previous system, and have a better product to show for it.
There were a few nominal functionality gaps to our previous system, but all were minor things we could work around. Although ad hoc report tools are available, the delivered, standard reports generally did not meet our requirements, so we needed to have them built, which was sometimes time consuming. Finally, most of the training our Comp Admins received was ad hoc and dictated by specific problems or questions that arose during testing - there was minimal structured training.
Be sure to have your requirements clearly defined and documented before you begin implementation. Be sure that your implementation team is not in the middle of other major projects that will impair team members' ability to engage in the project and test. Set realistic timelines for implementation, allowing time for data cleanup and corrections to occur. Negotiate for structured training for your comp admins following successful implementation.
Our salespeople previously had limited visibility into how business they won and/or lost translated to their pay, and the process of loading and calculating compensation was administratively burdensome to the back office. While we are still in the process of bringing all people onto this plan, our sales team is more engaged in managing their monthly compensation because of the visibility they now have into results, and early indications are that pay is better aligned with performance and is better differentiated between high and low performers. On the back end, we are seeing significant decreases in the amount of manual effort involved in processing monthly commission payments.
Everyone on our development team has been great. They have always been very responsive to emails and calls. They are good about thinking about an issue, instead of assuming it can't be done.
We've had a couple miscommunications. Not anything out of the norm for an implementation.

Iconixx simplifies our commission payroll process. We upload the information, it does the calculations, and provides custom reports for our commission statements and office by office performance reports. Iconixx also provides an output file that syncs up with our bank to provide easy ACH payments to our sales reps. There is also a portal available for our managers and sales reps to log in to and see their individual commission statements and the statements of reps working underneath them.
The onboarding process took longer than we would have liked. Instead of the 3-4 months we expected, the process took a full 6 months. However, Imran, Derrik, Anjali and the rest of the team we worked with were very attentive and determined to make sure our needs were fully met. Since our compensation model represents more of a multi-level model than a traditional model, additional customer programming was needed, which Iconixx provided free of charge.
We wanted to be able to automate our commissions payment processes. Our process has gone from just over 20 hours a week down to approximately 12 on a much more scalable platform that allows for our future growth.
The best aspect of ICONIXX once it is fully implemented, I imagine senior management will use the system as one the preliminary tool (because of pulling info from ledger, CRM, and payroll) in viewing/managing the overall business
Too early to tell, but I am concern how the system upgrades/modification gets push and its potential adverse affect on the live environment.
The Iconixx Incentive Compensation Training should happen before FRD/Implementation for Admin users
99% of our employee are on a variable comp plan. So the volume and complexity of managing that manually is a huge issue for us. ICONIXX should/will able to help us streamline our process.
Iconixx appears to be very user friendly, easy to navigate and appears to be a very flexible product.
it's difficult to tell since we're not yet in a live environment. However any concerns are quickly addressed.
