"Awesome design interface and incredibly friendly staff"

What do you like best?

I've been using iContact for a little over a year now and any time I have a question, Bill is always quick with a helpful answer. Since their interface update, putting together good-looking emails has been a snap. I love the email signup box they have for me to put on my website too!

What do you dislike?

I wish sorting lists of email recipients was easier, so I could on a whim send an email to only people in a certain area or only people in a certain line of business. It is possible, but it's not quite as user friendly as I would prefer.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

iContact has allowed us to keep in touch with customers and potential customers that we might otherwise not have a reason to contact. As a new business, it's really important for us to keep our name at the front of our customers' minds and this is an easy way for us to do that.

"Easy to use - easy to review and understand results"

What do you like best?

I created a custom template for our company and really like being able to use that template and modify it to make copy changes each month. I also like the very simple-to-understand analytics which let me know how many people are using our newsletter.

What do you dislike?

Although I have gotten comfortable with creating my own templates, I wish there were more template options related to manufacturing, I would love to find a template that I could just “fill in the blanks”. Occasionally I need to send out an email that is not connected to our online newsletter, and it would be nice if I had a good option for that.

Price is reasonable, use is very user friendly.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have different lists that we need to send certain emails to, it is so easy to upload a list and save it for future mailings. Having the analytics available on the Dashboard is a huge help, I was able to discover that one of our salespeople was not receiving our emails, so he never knew what the specials were or what information we were putting out there.

"iContact keeps guests in touch with our small art gallery."

What do you like best?

We use iContact monthly to reach over 5000 gallery guests and keep them informed of upcoming exhibitions and events. Once we developed our template, it is easy and very user-friendly to make changes and update our mailings. The recent improvements to the system make keeping our subscriber list up-to-date. Customer support is always responsive and we appreciate the suggestions for keeping our mailings relevant.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes we find the template a bit glitchy to work with, and we have gotten feedback from subscribers that there are inconsistencies between desktop and mobile platforms as to how our newsletter appears but nothing that has been a concern of significance.

This is an effective communication tool for a small business.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our mailings reach gallery guests and followers nation-wide and it is the most effective way we keep in touch. We have completed some direct sales of artwork simply because someone read our newsletter.

"iContact Email Marketing"

What do you like best?

The platform is super user friendly and flexible making email marketing less cumbersome and reducing the amount of time we have to spend creating, deploying, and tracking the results from our campaigns.

What do you dislike?

I've been using the iContact platform for two of our brands for over 8 years and haven't found anything that I've disliked. Over the years there are a lot of new features being added. Half the time I don't know what they are but our Rep. is always checking in and explaining them.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you are looking for an email marketing solution, give them a try. If I recall, they have several plans and free trials available. The sales and support team are helpful and not super pushy so it won't be a bombardment if you are in the exploration phase in terms of using their product.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

As an education provider, we need to communicate both sales and service oriented email messages to our students. The iContact platform has enabled us to create awareness and generate leads on products, but also provide notifications that our student/customer base need to know about.

"Monthly User"

What do you like best?

I love their analytics on the emails sent. It is helpful to see what emails do best, and how we can improve. The template are very easy to use and very versatile. It has been interesting to see how the analytics change based on the content and what it is that gets them to sign up to receive our emails. Plus, it give me something to report back and justify the cost of using the program.

What do you dislike?

I wish there was better social media integration. There is basic integration for a few of the social media sites, but I would like it to be able to do so much more. I would like to see some kind of integration with snapchat and instagram, as well as better integration with Linked in Business pages. It would also be great if we could send out mailers, making icontact a one stop shop.

Excellent product, very versatile!

We use iContact to send out our monthly newsletter to our email contacts. We also send out various reminders, coupons, and advertising to our various newsletter lists. It has been very helpful in reaching out to our fans, especially those who don't use social media. It is excellent for Business to Business mass emails as well. Newsletter sign up is very simple and it is very easy to get set up. Once you get going you can save templates, use theirs, or even reuse an email previously used.

"Have been using iContact ever since I started working for the Texas Department of Agriculture in '13"

What do you like best?

Super easy to use, intuitive tools, layout, etc. #1 probably the ability to do live chats with tech folks. Helps solve problems in minutes!

What do you dislike?

The price is a little steep. I understand that providing all the services costs money, but I wish it was more affordable. It's a good thing that I don't run the agency and make the purchasing decisions! I might lean towards a cheaper solution.

If I could change something, I would add a width-changing feature to the blocks and sections. On one hand, it's nice to have the stability of a locked-in width, but a dragging-with-mouse way to re-size the blocks would be convenient.

I have recommended this product to others, who have joined our team, as well as other business owners outside of the agency. It's super easy to use and the availability to chat live (immediately) with customer service is a super service. You can't beat the customer service!

"Intuitive and user friendly"

What do you like best?

I have used several e-marketing apps over the past ten years and none come close to the intuitive and user friendly iContact system. From contact management and segmentation to developing e-mail templates and implementing campaigns, the process is a breeze with iContact.

What do you dislike?

I have no complaints. One complaint I used to have was trying to schedule emails from GMT to EST (simple, I know), but this was sorted in the last year and I'm more than happy now.

Whether you're an expert or a beginner, iContact is an all round, economical application for e-marketing.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are able to reach out to our global customer base with company news and product announcements quickly and easily using iContact.

One challenge that we face is the prospect of the EU GDPR regulations which take effect on May 25, 2018. This could impact our ability to reach current and prospective targets/audience directly.

"Ideal provider for a small non-profit like ours"

What do you like best?

We send out a weekly newsletter for our small non-profit tango community, and use iContact to manage subscriptions and keep an archive of our newsletters and images. It is easy to re-use the template from week to week, and keep track of those who receive the mailing. We can track how many people receive the mailing as well as how many actually open it.

What do you dislike?

You cannot sort your saved images in folders or any other way to find what you want quickly.

If you have questions. the support staff is quick and very helpful. They have resolved every question or issue I have ever had.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Since we aren't really a "business" but a non-profit, our problems are always small. We do attract people to our tango venue and keep a mailing that includes out of towners who like to know what is going on in our city before they visit.

"iContact is an excellent tool and resource for our organization's email marketing"

What do you like best?

We are consistently impressed with the customer support they provide. Our strategic adviser, Peter is always sharing the latest industry best practices and pushing us to take our email marketing to the next level. He serves as a valuable consultant around our email strategy and is always ready to help with a new project. Our monthly check-ins with him are critical to our success in email marketing. The technical support is also very responsive to our needs and there to help with any issues we experience.

What do you dislike?

Occasionally there are glitches in the platform that make it tricky to get the email to show up the way you want it to when it is sent. Occasionally it will show up different in different email platforms and the trouble-shooting around this can be tricky. Luckily the iContact team is very responsive and ready to help. I also wish it had more abilities to track e-commerce resulting from our emails.

I would recommend them as a great tool and resource for the price.

Within our organization there are many different programs using this to communicate with their constituents. Whether it is an E-news for volunteers, our monthly E-new to 10K subscribers or our data-driven, carefully segmented email fundraising program, iContact has been a great tool. It helps us reach more people with the right information that is relevant to them. With this tool we have been able to grow and maintain a healthy email list and launch a successful new digital fundraising program.

"Great support, easy to use tools"

What do you like best?

We love working with iContact, our rep is always mentioning areas we can improve and suggesting new ways for us to think about our content. It's great to have someone with experience looking out for our new team. Anytime we have questions, the iContact team is available and ready with not only helpful answers but suggestions for ways to improve future sends and email construction. The API has been simple to use and allows us to get all of the data from the emails into a digestable format that we can combine with sends from another platform.

What do you dislike?

Not much about the tool is unlikeable, we would love to customize the footers and have the unsubscribe go to our global system directly, but we've found ways to make it work smoothly for our organization. We've been able to work with the API very easily to ingest the data we need to enhance the user customization and personalization within all of our email sends.

Definitely meet with them to see if their product fits your needs. Worth a look.

We use their team to help improve our email performance, send to lists of users that are not already in our CRM and engage with our B2B teams. We've seen improvements in our overall deliverability since working with the iContact team and listening to their recommendations. Once we began using their tools more effectively and changing our methods for developing emails, we've seen open and clicks rates both improve.

"I-Contact is the email marketing platform for us"

What do you like best?

We had used I-Contact in the past for about 10 years with great success and satisfaction when our company in 2013 decided to change over to another provider.

We have given this provider a chance, but a variety of issues, poor support and ineffective training have resulted in us moving back to I-contact since the beginning of 2016. And what a pleasure this has been. We receive Account Management support on a monthly basis, we can submit design projects and we are being listened to and given sound advice.

I for one am very pleased with being back at I-contact and I look forward to working with them for many years to come!

What do you dislike?

Really based on my experience with I-contact there is nothing I dislike about the program, or the approach from the I-contact team.

"iContact Allows our Business to Succeed"

What do you like best?

Our strategic advisor is really kind, funny, and very helpful when it comes to our email marketing needs. He makes great suggestions about subject lines, content, and even the best day to send out our email with historically proven high open rates per our account history. The system is easy to use! We can include and exclude lists to send an email to, schedule it in advance and forget about it. We're also able to see the history of a contact - what the open and how many times. Their clicks, etc. This makes it so we can send to people who open our emails making sure we don't get blocked by the major email providers.

What do you dislike?

The new system can be a bit clunky. I know they're still ironing out some kinks in the new system but for now some things are annoying and buggy. But at least we're able to send. I also wish you could batch delete your lists you create as well.

A lot of advantages and customization to using iContact to work your email list. They're always there if you need help or suggestions. They can even help write your email. Good organization of your list and list hygiene as well.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have been able to succeed at email marketing with iContact. Our emails don't get block by major service providers because through iContact we have been able to only send to people who open our emails so we don't get marked as spam. Our open rates have increased and complaints gone down. We still see the same amount of response or even more through doing this!

"Stellar drag & drop editing"

What do you like best?

I've worked with several email newsletter marketing programs during my time in media and iContact is hands-down my favorite thus far. The drag & drop editor makes shuffling around content easy and better yet, the templates automatically reformat for optimized mobile consumption. The emails look great on both desktop and mobile devices and we're not even spending additional time preparing that optimized mobile format. Our strategic advisor is also very responsive when we need assistance and offers a lot of insight into the analytics and trends of our databases.

What do you dislike?

The only thing I wish we had was direct 2-way communication between our business website member databases and the iContact lists for synchronized newsletter opt-in status. Subscriptions get communicated from our website to iContact, but unsubscribes from the emails sent by iContact do not get communicated back to the member profile on our website.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Definitely look into trying out iContact. They are serious about what they do and know what you need to make your email marketing a success.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The biggest problem we're solving is time spent on producing emails. We send a lot of various emails to our multiple website databases (including various sub-groups within each website database) and we can't afford to spend tons of time producing these emails when there are so many other production tasks we need to fulfill. Building emails used to be one of the more time-consuming projects we deal with. They are taken care of much faster now that we have the simple-to-use email builder.

"iContact allows me to engage members and others to get information out fast!"

What do you like best?

I like the ease of selecting all or just some contact lists for individualized messages. Formatting is easy, and you can switch seamlessly between HTML and Design mode while working on your message. Customer service has always been very responsive anytime I have had a problem or question.

What do you dislike?

My biggest complaint has been fixed (the ability to select all lists at once when applicable), so I have no dislikes to offer! The one thing I wish I could do is edit images within the document if the sizing is not quite right, but for now, I edit outside the application and hope it works when inserted.

"I Heart iContact!"

What do you like best?

It is very easy to use and find your past emails. Easy email deliverability and Easy email responses and Easy email preview. Easy sending out emails. Easy to manage email lists. Easy building emails and easy importing photos and easy personalizing emails. Easy user friendly! You can see bounce backs. You can see who opened your email. You can attach other Social media sites. iContact sends your emails also to like Facebook and Twitter and LinkedIn, the same time as the Client emails! Awesome product! I love on the Home (first page) they give you icontact news to help you with customer service tips!

I do not dislike anything about icontact. I love icontact!

The problems I solve is I can put all my clients in one place and icontact sends out whatever email I need at whatever time & day, I want. Easy to import my clients emails and also I can put in all their business information like address, phone number, etc. You can pick and choose different Lists to send different emails to. Love that the Home page, the first page tells you your Most recent email, how many people the email was sent to, how many people clicked on it, how many people opened your email. Tells you your Image library, messages sent, subscriber count, Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn! Very easy to use. Thank you!

"Great technical service!"

What do you like best?

I love the templates when I'm in a hurry and want it to look it's best.

I also appreciate that I can reach someone on a live chat when I need them.

What do you dislike?

It isn't as user friendly as it could be and I can't use bullets that I want.

I would like more holiday images and backgrounds for Christmas especially.

I'd rather it be a little wider than long so I can fit it to a letter size page if I need to.

"icontact helped use optimize on email marketing. "

What do you like best?

Great autoresponder for business, easy to use, affordable, enables you to create schedule and send quality marketing emails, offers free trial version to new users for test and learning purposes, helps in managing email subscriptions ensuring the subscribers receive mails at the most appropriate time which increases chances of securing checkouts on website and event attendance, easily connects with social media giving you wide market coverage.

What do you dislike?

Has had problem with delivering html codes especially to gmail users the emails some times remain in spam folder and that's a waste no one will read spam messages. This has created suspicion of some messages but its good for communication especially scheduling employee or team newsletters.

icontact makes marking easy its good to give it a trial I hope they will ensure the issue with deletion of html codes is solved otherwise if that is done everything else is just great to use.

"E-mail Marketing Simplified"

What do you like best?

The ease at which I can design a spectacular looking e-mail while at the same time keeping track of all of our different contacts in one place.

Switching between HTML and their "easy use" design form is a breeze, depending on what I need to do.

Being able to test send the e-mail and check to see if it may be recognized as "spam" is a great feature.

What do you dislike?

The customized e-mail sign-up form can be finicky at times and doesn't always cooperate with our website.

"The most efficient email platform I have used!"

What do you like best?

I like all the responsive templates, and over-all user experience.

What do you dislike?

There are some glitches when you enter your own HTML code, but with basic troubleshooting it's not too bad.

If you are looking for a email development software to try choose iContact. They have a huge selection of great responsive templates to choose from. You don't have to be technical, but if you decide to develop your own code there are options for that too. My company have been using iContact for more than 5 years with no problems... I believe you will say that same after trying them.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The business problems iContact solves for my company is email development efficiency and appeal. The biggest benefit would have to be analytics and AB testing options.

"Easy to use email marketing solution"

What do you like best?

iContact is an easy, out-of-the-box product for email marketing including newsletters, announcements, surveys and so much more. Before the changes to the interface, it worked well, but now with the recent upgrades, it's much better.

What do you dislike?

The survey feature needs a lot of work. It's not even functional right now. Once you create and release a survey, you cannot edit it and the options for sharing and analytics are pretty minimal. I understand this is not a key feature for iContact, but if it is offered, it should be effective. It would be nice to have a configuration similar to something like survey monkey.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Carefully consider the number of contacts you will need to communicate with. We did an analysis of our patients and are finding that we did not allow for growth so we either have to delete contacts and upload new lists to stay within the constraints of our licensing or purchase more contacts.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have 9 locations with about 15 departments within those locations where we need to communicate with our patients. Sometimes we communicate with all, sometimes a subset based on locations or other criteria. It is so easy to create mailing lists and target those patients using lists. We often export data into csv or xls files in order to upload them to contact lists for targeting emails.

"Saved us a lot of money!"

What do you like best?

Our e-mails always get into the inbox, and we have a dedicated account manager.

What do you dislike?

Difficult to do real time segments. For example, if I want to exclude anyone who has not opened any e-mails in the past 180 days, there is not a way for me to create a segment based on that criteria that updates on its own, that is, if someone who was on the 180-day non-opener list decides to open an old e-mail, they should automatically drop off that list. Similarly, someone who was not on the non opener list yesterday who hits 180 days without opening today, should be added to that segment. Other ESPs have this ability.

Great for mostly basic e-mailing and some advanced techniques.

"IContact email messaging service"

What do you like best?

Multiple departments use this service, and each maintains their own distribution list. Many have used IContact's design team to create custom email newsletter templates. It is easy to modify subscribers lists, and I like that the service allows you to resend a message only to the people who did not open it the first time.

What do you dislike?

The biggest pet peeve is the sign-up boxes are a little clunky. Need more design flexibility and the ability to sign up for multiple groups on the same form.

Check it out before using another service.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The biggest improvement is that we had different departments using (and paying for) different email services. We were able to create one account with multiple users that generated cost-savings for the county and gave our products a streamlined look.

"We have stuck with Icontact ,with no regrets."

What do you like best?

EMAIL DELIVERABILITY - It is now much more Herculian to get newsletters to deliver successfully into the inbox of email users, as email providers are continuously getting better at protecting their users from spam mails.While this is a good development ,it has had some effect on the deliverability rate of newsletters. However,we have stuck with Icontact for the past three year period ,and its email to inbox delivery rate is very much impressive ; giving us the conviction that our newsletter will continually hit our target recipient inbox.

POWER OF CUSTOMIZATION : Icontact has provided us with the freedom to freely customize our newsletters.We are able to customize and modify everything and anything we deem fit for customization. Padding , colour , font etc

MOBILE FIRST : As much as some of my colleagues at work tend to want to disagree, the world has become a mobile first world,and our Icontact analytics has proven that continuously. Therefore it is important that newsletters we send to our emailing list , are perfectly compatible with their smartphone OS and screen size. This Icontact ,has done very effectively and has only resulted in more success for our email campaign.

What do you dislike?

Icontact needs to improve on its integration capabilities.We use Microsoft dynamics as our Customer Relationship management program at my workplace. However , we are unable to integrate it with our icontact. Which if it was doable ,would open a new door of opportunities to our marketing team.

We use icontact as a launchpad to deliver newsletters to our recipients email inbox. It has thus helped us in exploring a very cheap channel for us to grow our customer base.We have also leveraged on analytics provided by icontact to measure the performance and effectiveness of our email marketing approach and tactics.

"Our email campaigns keep getting better."

What do you like best?

icontact is intuitive and very easy to understand for first time users ,without the hurdle of having a technical background before being able to use this effectively.It has got great email templates too , and unlike what we had with Mailchimp ; we are able to customize the templates on icontact to meet our preference.

It provides us with important real time analytics needed to measure the effect of our email campaigns and see how our newsletter recipients interact with our emails; ensuring we are constantly measuring and improving on the efficiency of our email marketing approach.

What do you dislike?

Will be great to be able to integrate icontact with Livechat. In time past with Mailchimp , we were able to integrate it with Livechat ensuring ,new web visitor emails were automatically added to our emailing list. This is currently not possible with icontact.

"Best for Business"

What do you like best?

iContact is a very user friendly platform. They are constantly updating to make it a better user experience and they do listen to the requests and suggestions for their users.

What do you dislike?

There really isn't a lot that I don't like, other than you cannot send individual emails. For example, we do giveaways and would love to send an email to the winners utilizing the themes and templates, however, this option is not available.

As stated before, this platform is very easy to use. I had no prior training on this product and was able to use it without any trouble.

"iContact allow us keep the communication open with our customers."

What do you like best?

As a sales person ,I realize the importance of good customer support to a business and "good customer support '" is what I like most about icontact. I like the intuitiveness and how everyone on the digital sales team at Iroko gets to use icontact with little or no programming knowledge.

It enable the sales and marketing team, segment our email contact list using important consumer metrics like ; last purchase date , purchase frequency , location etc . While enabling us setup customized workflows which automatically send regular emails about new movie offers to just the right contacts.

What do you dislike?

Nothing to dislike about iContact. Maybe better integration with social media ; particularly with Linkedin Business ; since a lot of our users are professionals.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use iContact for email marketing. It provides us with an excellent inbox delivery ratio and also enable us know when an email recipient opens our email . Thus over the last few months, we are learning to send emails to only recipients who have a track record of reading our newsletters , thereby reducing the risk of getting our emails restricted by major email providers.

Overall ,it enable us keep the conversation with our customers continuous ; even on occasions ,when they aren't patronizing our services.

"iContact Pro is Great!"

What do you like best?

I love how easy it is to build comprehensive workflows. These workflows allow for greater automation, which makes my life as a marketer easier! I also love the support team. Our Strategic Advisor, Kate, is helpful and responsive. She is a rock star!

What do you dislike?

We're having some issues with open/click discrepancies, which affects our reporting and analytics. I'd also like more comprehensive analytics. Kate pulls reports for me each month with full stats, but I'd like the ability to do this myself.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you're an ecommerce company operating on a custom platform, iContact doesn't have the same reporting that other ESPs might have. I think that you can connect with Shopify for your ecommerce analytics, but if you don't have Shopify, there's not much in the way of ecom metrics and reporting.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We used a different ESP for about two years until we realized that utilizing their automation features would cost us way too much money. We switched to iContact, and I've been able to implement tons of automated workflows that would've cost my company hundreds of dollars a month with the other ESP.

"Great Program for ANYONE!"

What do you like best?

I like that it's a program that anyone can use. I have a graphic design degree and really utilize those skills to create the best emails. But before I was in charge of our email marketing, another staff member was using it. She doesn't have the technical knowledge that I do and was still able to produce great looking emails with the included templates. It's a program that can truly be used by anyone, no matter your skill set.

What do you dislike?

I don't know that I actually have any dislikes for this program. I have to use another email marketing program for a separate business division and iContact is LIGHTYEARS ahead of them!

Use it. It's wonderful. You won't be dissapointed. You will be disappointed you wasted time on other software!

"Making emails fun and easy"

What do you like best?

It is easy to use, great services, always on top of things. I can make changes myself and when I need help they are ALWAYS available to help with anything. Changing up your email blasts is so easy to do to keep your viewer engaged and when you want something special, the design team will do a great job and in such a short time! If you ever have any issues your rep or customer service will answer them.

What do you dislike?

I can say I do not have any complaints I could say about iContact. It is so easy to use and such great designs, what could you say bad about that? You have so many options at your fingertips, and if you see something missing and you tell them, they will have the issue fixed in no time.

Easy to use, has all the features that other companies seem to lack. Don't be deterred because of the price, you will get such great service and designs that it will all be worth it and no regrets will be there.

It is a great way to get news out in a high design, but easy to use format. They are always up to date with new changes and ahead of other competitors. "Comparable to other similar software at a competitive price."

What do you like best?

Their customer service representatives are friendly and easy to contact. Email reports are user friendly, and prior experience with this type software not necessary for use.

What do you dislike?

As with anything new you are learning, the time figuring out how to navigate is naturally frustrating. Would be nice to have some custom email template development built into the base price, as I think this would help novice users like me get more out of it and also possibly increase the likelihood of continued use.

Look at costs compared to benefits. Also, Customer support and access to that support is a huge factor, especially if you are a novice user.

"Customer Service is Excellent but the Product Struggles with Usability Issues"

What do you like best?

Their customer support. Whenever I've had issues (unfortunately often) their chat feature works wonderfully. I always get people who are eager and willing to help. Honestly, it is what has kept me with them for so long at this point.

What do you dislike?

They have two ways of creating a message - through MessageBuilder or using HTML code. I'm not a coder, but we've had lots of instances where the Message Builder had a bug show up and then it had to be fixed in HTML (by their customer support - which does great). However, once they do that, you have to work from HTML and that is very limiting. We've also had issues with sending emails out using their program and receiving them in our Outlook. Can't figure out if it's a problem on their end or with our firewall, but it still means I have to create a work-around for actual delivery of the messages and then I can't track opens.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Confirm whether you will be able to send out if your company uses Outlook. Outlook tends to screw around with the formatting and then your end product doesn't match your copy within the program.

We needed to send out a quarterly newsletter. Their format has been working for us for 1-2 years, but I don't know if they are keeping up with fresh looks when it comes to templates

What do you like best?

I love the templates provided by iContact to design personalized and creative emails. I also appreciate the stats that are available tp measure the open rates and overall success of every single email!

I don't like that in order for an unsubscriber to subscribe again, they must send an email to be shared with an iContact strategic advisor. This is sometimes complicating for users who unsubscribe by mistake

iContact recently upgraded their platform making a variety of improvements to improve and match my natural work flow. Since I am a near-daily user, these are welcomed. The new editor is easy to use and update past emails for newer events.

"Warm fuzzies for I-Contact support"

What do you like best?

Customer service is awesome. I have lots of great examples. Often fast, with simple resolution. One not so common or simple one: Recently one tech gal went to the developers (in a secret backroom, it seemed) to untangle an issue that appeared to be between I contact and GoDaddy. My husband had service calls with each, pointing to the other. As the non-tech person, but primary account user, I had a delightful and successful call. She resolved not one but 2 glitches that were keeping my modal plug-in (for newsletter sign-ups) in limbo for weeks. She tested it herself. I wanted to send her flowers

Unlike GoDaddy (and others 800#s) you can talk to a person in minutes (except afternoon Pacific Time, since they are in NC)

What do you dislike?

The templates are glitchy at times and do funny things. it's hard to pad images correctly. And the template I use is pale grey--stupid, unreadable. so always has to be adjusted.

Lack of evening tech support for west coast users.

split testing is clunky and confusing. Also being unable to get lists of users who have not opened emails in 2 years--to be able to see who;s on our list that are just non-users.

"Possibly my favorite of all email marketing products!"

What do you like best?

Easy-to-use templates, quick lists and reporting information, intuitive build. The product has been made so that you do not need to utilize their well-reviewed support. I've had excellent luck building lists and scheduling weekly and monthly email campaigns with no issues whatsoever. This is a no-fuss method of handling marketing communications! I love that I can rely on this to accomplish so many milestones with minimal effort!

What do you dislike?

There isn't much I can think of with regard to cons. Fortunately this is well-built to the point that and functionality problems have been cured by the company. The web version is better than mobile IMHO, but then again, there's something about being able to see the full screen that I always appreciate with regard to computer versus mobile.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Ultimately there are plenty of similar products out there. Look at how many people you're targeting, if you're expecting a lot of growth, and what your budget is. This provides an excellent ROI for small-medium subscriber lists, up to 10,000 or more!

"Easy to use and lots of flexibility"

What do you like best?

I like how the templates allow for customization, and it is really easy to just drag and drop to set up your emails. You don't have to be a programmer to make it look the way you want it! I also find the company emails with tutorials and helpful advice that icontact sends out, to be very useful. The reports with the stats are also helpful and user friendly, so you can easily see how your marketing campaigns are going.

What do you dislike?

I wish there was a way to integrate icontact with our customer database so that updates to our customer email list would sync with the icontact list, and automatically update.

The versatility for building email fliers by someone not "techie inclined" and the use by someone who can write their own html code and upload into IContact.

What do you dislike?

That we can't have unlimited picture storage with the higher paid-for programs/levels.

Try it out for yourself first and see the benefits of it. If used consistently you should see easy return (use the stat reports so you can see what subject lines get the best response!). I use it with my company for years and also got my Realtor Chapter changed over to use this system versus another one due to the ease in using it.

Efficient cost to market direct to our past customers as well as potential customers and our referral partners. We can always be "top of mind" with IContact emails.

"Great Email Service for Small Businesses"

What do you like best?

I love the fact that everything i need is right in front of me. I have access to templates, statistics, and everything an online marketer needs. The email builder is so good. There are so many great templates to start off with, and then you can modify them very easily. I don't like MailChimp because you are forced to stick to the template and you can't modify the template.

What do you dislike?

At times the email builder is a bit complex when customizing for new emails. Also, it would be nice to see some new email templates pop up on the list. Even though, compared to some other email clients, they do have quite a bit available. I also don't like managing my contacts. uploading one a time is really a pain and the batch uploads are not super easy to use.I wish it was easier to use old emails as a template.

This is one of the best options available. The combination of price to offerings is very reasonable. In comparison to MailChimp, the email builder is much better. You have so much more control and customization using iContact.

"Standard, Affordable Email Marketing Software"

What do you like best?

This platform is easy to use and quick to navigate through. The email builder works well and there's also an HTML option for custom development templates. No automation, but there's basic list sending capabilities and deliverability is good.

What do you dislike?

No glaring dislikes, but the platform could be improved with automation of list segmentation and the ability to add contacts to lists based on engagement with email marketing. It would also be nice to have the ability to better organize campaigns and emails into folders or with tags. Reporting could also use a sprucing up.

Recommendations to others considering the product

There's social media automation for posting messages about emails on Twitter and Facebook after scheduling, which is a nice touch. If automation is necessary for segmentation and transactional/e-commerce emails, this may be the wrong platform for you. It's a very simple solution that's easy to manage for business owners who are running their own marketing.

"iContact is an aweswome service!"

What do you like best?

iContact has recently updated their templates and editing platform and it is now so user friendly. I can upload everything into their templates or create my own without having to use a third party platform like Dreamweaver to assist.

What do you dislike?

I wish that if I have a subscriber assigned to two different lists that if I send a blast out and hit both of those lists that it wouldn't send that email to that particular person twice but instead filter it out so they only get it once. Many of our people are assigned to multiple different lists and occasionally we hit more than one list at a time with sale details or other promotions.

It's great to be able to really track the open rates and use the new dashboard to get a quick glimpse at how our email blasts are preforming.

"Great support on iContact!"

What do you like best?

The email strategy advisors are a huge help. Whether it's about design, reporting, deliverability, or strategy, they have methods and advice for everything.

What do you dislike?

They recently updated their email builder. The old one was outdated, so the update is very welcome! Building beautiful emails is much easier, but there's still a few quirks and I'm not sure if we have the capability to do all the things we want to. That being said, it is still a great tool.

"Horrible and misleading"

What do you like best?

I like that I can share e-mails to social media. I can schedule posts out for the coming year.

What do you dislike?

Here we go! We were promised that when we upgraded, we would have a dedicated rep that we could call and talk to, someone who could advise on how to make the most of our marketing efforts. Instead, we got someone we can talk to once a month for 30 minutes. We were promised more room for e-mails, but did not get the promised amount. Half of our subscribers disappeared without explanation; they didn't unsubscribe, they were simply gone. I do the marketing for three businesses, and we were told they could merge each separate account into just one for me to manage. This still hasn't happened.

Social Media-wise, you can schedule posts, but you can't post them altogether. You have to create and schedule a post for each post, so if you have a lot of social media, it will take quite a bit of time. If you make a mistake, you can't just edit it. You have to move it to drafts, which unschedules it, go to drafts, make the edit, then reschedule it.

Don't use this. Find another. We'll be switching as soon as we can.

Very poor customer service.

"Easy to use A+"

What do you like best?

IContact is very easy to use. Uploading contacts to your lists is very easy. I like to design ads that match what time of year you are sending and the type of people who you are sending to. It is nice to see the open rates, click rates and unsubscribes so you can tell how each ad did. Also it is very good to have a Strategic Advisor to help you when you have questions. They help you send better ads and answer any problems that you may have. Love the idea that you can resend the same ad out a week later. Any recent ads that were sent out, are easy to find so you can reuse them quickly. Great mass emailing company to use. With all the competitors our there, Icontact is easy to use and very helpful.

What do you dislike?

Would like more background options. It would be helpful when uploading a photo to be able to edit it. Would like to be able to align my logo with text next to it.

There are alot of templates you can use to help with designing your own ad.

"Comprehensive service I have used for many years"

What do you like best?

We have been using iContact for many years. We have an email list of around 200,000 addresses. We use iContact to maintain the email list, and to send targeted emails to the list on a weekly basis. iContact does everything - manage the list, handle adds/unsubscribes, provide useful reports and stats, and more. We also have a second need for an autoresponder to handle a smaller list of a couple thousand emails. This autoresonder contains around 100 messages and lasts around three years. We set up the autoresponder mechanics - everything else runs automatically.

What do you dislike?

There is nothing obvious that we dislike. We have had other email services in the past and iContact has everything we need.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have had a weekly email since 2001 for customer marketing, branding and loyalty. This allows us to provide tips to our readers, and also keeps us on top of mind if they have needs. We are also able to positively promote our services.

"Support is amazing"

What do you like best?

I have recently picked back up using iContact and have been impressed with the amount of support I have received. Our sales rep schedules frequent calls with me to check in and make sure everything is going well. So far every call I have had with her has taught me something new. She also has given me much advice that will continue to help our business. I also like the upgrade that has been done since the last time I have used it. The templates are nice and make it easy to drag and drop and quickly build out an email when you don't have time to create something from scratch.

What do you dislike?

I also use a more extensive marketing automation tool for a different company and that has a lot more capabilities, such as landing pages, full automation program flows, scoring, etc. (Unless iContact has any of this that I am not aware of yet). However, the company that I have been using iContact for has not exactly needed those capabilities yet as we are more in the beginning stages so it has been just fine.

"Easy to Use Email Program"

What do you like best?

iContact is relatively easy to use, and I like the fact that they are adding more features to the program constantly to help make my email marketing more effective.

What do you dislike?

Customizing our email templates has been challenging, and the program does't always render emails consistently on different email platforms.

As a user of the system, you can't just cut and paste content from a Word document., as iContact will pick up the code from Word and bring that code into iContact, so it is best to enter content directly into the system or paste from a .txt file.

See if you can use it on a trail basis. For the most part iContact will provide basic email marketing and communications features at a reasonable price.

What do you like best?

The ease with which we can contact a large group of people - with proven results!

What do you dislike?

Nothing. The product is great.I would say they should upgrade their DO not contact rules. We should have a change, in our business, to mark a company that we are emailing, out of business before we are marked, "Do not contact" in the file.

This product is an easy way to organize your email contacts if you find OUTLOOK, and other email products, lacking in the organization area. IF you want to talk to only people that are in Texas then you can do that with ease with this product. Their Customer Support is a 10. TO bad they didn't have that number above.

"Big iContact Fan!"

What do you like best?

iContact makes it possible to create beautiful looking emails and reuseable templates that are easy to use once you're familiar with the capability. I like the ability to reuse content as well, it speeds up the process of creating new templates and individual emails every week.

What do you dislike?

While it's a fantastic tool, I do feel that the wide variety of capabilities give it a bit of a learning curve. That makes it difficult to train others on how to be my backup. There are a lot of tools in there that I haven't even started using!

Take the time to really familiarize yourself with the design and list segmentation tools because it makes the email creation process much faster. Also, give serious consideration to signing up for an account that includes a strategic advisor. We had our doubts about the benefits initially, but our advisor has been a great asset!

iContact allows us to put consistent branding in all of our messaging, and easily send recurring messages. "Excellent Customer Service"

What do you like best?

In addition to the cost, I am very pleased with my Account Representative and the attention that he provides to me and my account. He is always available to discuss any issues and suggests new ways in which to attract more users to sign up for my company newsletter. He is always willing to assist with any email related issues and provides both design and coding support.

My company is on the West coast while iContact is on the East coast and their service is not 24/7/365.

"icontact is perfect for any size company and helps you grow"

What do you like best?

I've been working with iContact for almost a decade now and I can say that I really like the platform, the ease of use, not to mention the technical expertise they bring to the table. They focus on what is best for your company and make recommendations based on what we want and gague them with what we actually need. Steven Rausch is our iContact representative and we have a call at least once a month to make sure we have what we need. He has iContact help prevent us from being spammers and lets us know when new technology and options are available. I have not had that level of help from other email blast providors

What do you dislike?

The next generation system still has a few issues, but more are just irritations that I expect to go away once after all the bugs are fixed in this new version

iContact's vanilla system is easy enough for anyone to use, but the customization is the best benefit to this product. We have solved multiple business problems with this product and allowed us to quadruple our lead generation over the course of 4 years

"Great E-Mail System With Broad Integrations"

What do you like best?

I like the ability to connect iContact with other tools that we use and need to have strong integrations with. Another great thing about iContact is the account manager. He calls on a consistent basis and is always prepared to offer advice that pertains to our business and to our online goals.

What do you dislike?

The one thing that was a bit worrisome was the initial stages with iContact. We had a hard time getting in touch with someone to start the process and found that they seemed to be overwhelmed. Once we were able to get in touch with someone things quickly shaped up to work very well for us and demonstrate that they have a strong value in their customers.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I am not sure how their onboarding process has evolved for new customers. It will be very important to look into this and to make sure that you understand that there may be hiccups that remain in this course of their business. I would like to think that they have come along in fixing anything here and will work better for you and your organization.

The biggest problem solved is integration with other tools that we use for our e-commerce. Some have been realized and others are still being put together. iContact has the capability to work with the APIs and other coding from a wide variety of other providers. This is an essential tool for us and I am sure other businesses when trying to ensure that the tools used are the best for their respective organization.

"Long term iContact Customer"

What do you like best?

iContact's customer support is outstanding. The few support-related issues I have experienced with iContact have all be solved correctly and promptly. Also, iContact is outstanding an maintaining whitelist status with all of the major email providers. We have never had significant issues with getting our emails delivered.

What do you dislike?

I have no major dislikes with iContact. I wish they had more robust options for sending test emails to multiple people, but this is a minor irritation, not a significant problem.

Don't choose an iContact competitor based on price alone. iContact seems to be willing to negotiate the price in many circumstances.

"Excellent email marketing tool"

What do you like best?

We have been using the IContact services for nearly 6 years and love to work with them. Excellent customer support, the email platform is very easy to use and allows us to easily create great good looking emails. This is a great marketing tool for our business.

What do you dislike?

Although the staff is very supportive, sometimes when improvements are made to the platform, it's not always easy to adapt. However, and thanks to their great customer support, you can chat with a customer service agent and he/she easily guides you to understand the changes.

Reaching out to our different customer bases with professional looking emails. Further to a very professional look for our messages, using this system reassures our customers that we are not spamming them. Furthermore, with the reports available, you can easily see the response to your messages sent.

"iContact is a good system, but not the best in class"

What do you like best?

iContact is an easy to use product for email marketing. It is generally flexible and reliable.

What do you dislike?

I have two main problems with iContact. First there are far fewer integrations out there for iContact than similar products like MailChimp and Constant Contact.

The second issue is a billing matter. Billing, at least for my account, is based on the number of contacts in the system. I used iContact for many years and had many contacts in the system that were not active and hadn't been in years, but they were still counted in determining my usage. There was no apparent way to eliminate those inactive contacts. That doesn't seem reasonable to me.

Altho9ugh iContact now offers a companion marketing automation system, our need for such a system and the incremental costs have caused us to consider alternatives.

"Long-time user who's rarely experienced problems"

What do you like best?

I love the look of the iContact templates; the updated dashboard is so handy to use; and it's convenient to be able to go to scheduled emails and preview them with a button click rather than having to cancel the send and make it pending again just to be able to proof it once more. (I'm an obsessive proofer! :)

What do you dislike?

One of the things I disliked the most doesn't pertain anymore (see "what I like best": being able to preview scheduled emails).

Sending out regular email communication keeps me busy enough. iContact makes it easy to stay on top of things at a glance. It's also convenient to do the email follow up that I need because exporting performance stats is simple, which means I can alert sales to leads and update contact info in our database.

"Simple Email Deployment Software and Not Much Else "

What do you like best?

Setting up emails using the editor was very easy. There are almost never any formatting errors and emails always deploy without a problem.

What do you dislike?

The Salesforce integration isn't the best - You have to go through several steps to deploy an email with a Salesforce list. This leaves you with difficulty in training and prone to errors.

Recommendations to others considering the product

iContact is an excellent software for the price, however there are many other competitors that are also in that price range like constant contact and surveymonkey, so look around! If you do end up going with iContact, start writing step by step guides on how to build and deploy your own emails as the steps needed to deploy an email when integrated with CRM can be convoluted and very difficult to train others on! Lastly if you are looking for a more than a simple email deployment software, their automation level product isn't as well known, make sure you look at other vendors like Act-On that are competitive on price compared to othe MA's out there.

I used iContact for selveral years, as recently as earlier this year. The email deployment software is very good an getting your text and images to look good. In a smaller business, you are always just looking for the cleanest and most efficient way to send your message.

"Great Email Marketing Platform!"

What do you like best?

I love the ease of use of the interface and the deliverability of the emails sent. I am able to create emails and send them efficiently. Even with a few bounces & complaints here and there I've never had an interruption in service.

I wish there were more email templates available for use which I would probably say for all the popular email marketing platforms.

"iContact making Email Marketing refreshing"

What do you like best?

The user interface is spot on, from sign up you are already a semi pro as all its features are readily available on the dashboard and easy to use.

Also, iContact is perfect as it works with virtually all forms of communication platforms i.e. emails, announcements, newsletters and survey.

What do you dislike?

I think some work needs to be done on the survey feature. First of all,the survey should be editable. Also, there is need for more sharing options(buttons) and the analytics section should be comprehensive.

This is a great tool which will make you keep in touch with everyone you have connected with or work with. Just as a reminder, make sure you specify the exact range of contacts you will be working with on sign up s it will be difficult to change this later. You might find yourself deleting some contacts to accommodate others if you undersell yourself.

"iContact benefits and shortcomings"

What do you like best?

iContact's re-use email feature is one of the most helpful features in this program; their templates are also beneficial. Their scheduling program is fairly functional, though not adjustable once scheduled.

What do you dislike?

iContact has rather limited design components, their tracking data is minimally useful, and their contact organization (specifically, removing contacts from groups and rearranging in the future) is lacking. Since a scheduled email cannot be adjusted, it requires multiple steps to cancel and reschedule an email.

Recommendations to others considering the product

iContact is a solid email program and better than others on the market. While there are some features that could be expanded upon, the overall function of the program is as desired.

"Easy to Create Emailing Masterpieces"

What do you like best?

I really like that I am able to upload all of our images and edit them inside the template. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the drag and drop feature and how I am able to customize the templates with colors, fonts and images!

What do you dislike?

My only wish was with borders being able to be added to individual text blocks to add an extra POP! of color or personality.

"Always Improving"

What do you like best?

Customer support with iContact is top rate. Our rep, Peter Ansbacher is extremely responsive and continually encourages us to push the envelope and integrate new techniques. I also appreciate iContact's continual drive to improve it's product.

What do you dislike?

Metrics are somewhat limited/basic. The interface can be a bit buggy, especially while editing an html email. Also, the way iContact handles/counts contacts is confusing and a bit frustrating.

"iContact good for experienced HTML users"

What do you like best?

I like that distributions look very professional when they are sent out. Using lists and adding contacts are quite simple. Reporting is useful. Can count on distribution going out when it is scheduled. Handles large lists fairly well if you pay for the number of users. Can access it anywhere. More than one person can be signed in if you're trying to consult on a particular email. Social media aspects are helpful and easy to use.

What do you dislike?

The ability to make format changes and font changes is very difficult. In fact, it's so glitchy and unreliable that we've had to hire a designer who downloads the templates to his own computer and programs them using code and then uploads them back into the application. If a person is really good at HTML, then it isn't a problem, but for someone wanting to make small format changes, it doesn't work very easily. Segments are a bit confusing. Using a calendar for scheduling on more than one time zone would make the process easier as well.

What do you like best?

Easy to use email ad campaign has saved me a lot of time and trouble. the software is easy to use (and learn).

What do you dislike?

I don't have any complaints about the program.

It would be great to see a tutorial going into greater depth about how to better understand the reporting aspect of the email blasts that go out, and how to fine tune the email ads in response to this data set.

Ongoing advertising tips, tricks, and best-practice training might also be nice.

"A whole new level"

What do you like best?

What I like best is the ROI. I started using icontact several years ago and aside from networking, it is the best thing that has ever happened in my business.

And it is so easy to use!! I choose my fave format, change the colors to my liking and am able to use my fave font. It's simple, beautiful and professional.

"Solid, reliable emails and lists"

What do you like best?

Solid, reliable email distribution. Both we and the subscribers themselves have control over their subscriptions to us.

What do you dislike?

In the version we use, the maximum file size allowed for images is smaller than those offered by the service we had used previously. Makes it hard to read images with text, such as aerial photo maps with street names. Also, send time is Eastern time, which is a minor annoyance.

We needed a way to get news directly to our customers and to members of the media, sometimes quickly. This program is easy to use and there are templates that fit our various needs. We have been able to keep our access to our subscriber base despite changes in personnel and location.

What do you like best?

iContact has a fairly easy process for uploading CSV files and setting up email blasts. We use iContact regularly to send out reminders to our clients and it works effectively. Lists can be separated and organized quickly and assigning, searching for, and managing the contacts in your email list is straightforward.

The interface takes a bit of time to get used to.

"Great customer service!"

What do you like best?

iContact is flexible with the needs of their different customers. Some months we have higher volume and they allow us to adjust settings based on this i.e. increased sends for specific months. They are also very helpful with offering discounts if you pay in full for the month and will work with your budget. Overall they are easy to communicate with.

What do you dislike?

I find that creating a template can be tedious at times and would like some more creative liberty when choosing fonts and colors.

"A bit clunky but a good tool"

What do you like best?

It's a good email service provider. Pretty basic in it's functions but has good reporting for opens and actions taken on the emails.

What do you dislike?

It's not an intuitive interface and I find the flow awkward. I like MailChimp much better for example. Some of the link names are counter-intuitive and I wish there was more data mining available.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I would recommend doing trials of other software and build a test email. Upload a dummy list and see how that does to see if you like the way the system works. Everyone is different and will find certain things easier to use than others.

We're using iContact to email customers about specials and upcoming events. The benefits have been the same as using other email providers, we have about the same open rate and click-throughs. Overall, email marketing is a benefit to our business for sure.

"iContact makes my business work"

What do you like best?

Sending out emails and managing/manipulating our lists is easy with iContact compared to some of the other ESP's we've used.

What do you dislike?

I suppose the only this is sometimes a message might get flagged for SPAM and then rejected. They don't notify us that it's happened so we have to be proactive and make sure all our emails send out.

"A Game Changer for My Mortgage Company"

What do you like best?

In 2011 before i got hooked up with I contact I was the broker for a struggling loan company. of 30 years, most of the struggle was due to my own lack of knowledge how to manage my database and remain in contact with my clients

Using the constant contact CMS platform I was able to reach out to my client base of over 25k contact in a systematic and orderly process tracking who was opening my message and why was not a viable prospect for repeat business.

Within 6 months the IContact team had we thinking about messaging and data management in a "real time method" .

My "e blasting" costs were cut in half and my readership ("opens")went from 5k per month to over 20k per month.

"Send out emails automatically without having to worry about it."

What do you like best?

I like how it saves your previously sent email so that you can use it again as a template for the next email you want to send out. You can create groups of subscribers and name the groups, and check mark which groups you want to email.

What do you dislike?

Typing within the text box is a little irritating. I usually have to type out my email message in a Word document and then paste it into the iContact text box because typing within the textbox is glitchy.

iContact has a spam word detector, so try not to use words that are provocative or else iContact will flag your email.

"Customer support is fantastic"

What do you like best?

Whenever I've had a technical issue with sending an email or setting up an auto-responder, the support team has always taken the time to walk me through how to do something or to find out why something isn't working.

"Email Tool That Has It All "

What do you like best?

I like that iContact makes it easy to edit my emails each week from last week's template. Navigating through our contacts and looking at their individual stats is easy as well.

What do you dislike?

I think that the design stage of making my emails could be much smoother. Texts sometimes gets stuck in one format and I have to go into HTML mode to edit. Beware that emails don't auto-save as you're working!

"Solid Platform with Some Limitations"

What do you like best?

The iContact for Salesforce offered the functionality that was most valuable for our company.

What do you dislike?

The email builder was very basic, and unless you have HTML skills, it won't be very helpful.

Definitely a good platform to start emailing activity. If your company uses Salesforce, then having the integration is well worth the price tag. iContact also offers a marketing automation platform, iContact Pro, who's emailing capabilities are more extensive than in the standard iContact.

Mass emailing to prospects was too difficult and expensive through Salesforce, so we used iContact to automate and better track this activity. The benefit was obvious, in that we were able to send 5000+ emails from a platform that did not interrupt Salesforce activities, and the analytics were much deeper than what we previously had with Salesforce.

"Ease of Use"

What do you like best?

The ability to add signature lines for all of our sales personnel is key. Each sales person, Direct and Channel, must be able to send an email in their name and with their contact information. And, they need to be able to review the performance of their email and iContact makes it very easy to give them permission for ONLY reviewing analytics, without the possibility of corrupting past, present or DRAFT emails.

Sometimes, I need to go to the SOURCE for the email to modify image sizes, max- and min-sizes, etc. iContact isn't as accommodating as Mail Chimp for this. Getting to the Source code is easy, but getting out of it is nearly impossible.

Do your research. Use their service during the Trial period and beat the heck out of it. You will definitely come to the same conclusion I did. They fulfill my needs and go the extra mile if any issues arise.

No business problems, except perhaps frequency of 'touch'. The benefits are accessing lists and portions of lists, such as parsing regional customers from ALL customers is a huge benefit.

"Good enough, but there are better service providers"

What do you like best?

The service has the basics down and is generally user-friendly. The service is also very cost effective, so it could be a good starting point for small businesses.

What do you dislike?

There are better service providers out there like MailChimp and Constant Contact who are a bit more sophisticated and around the same price point. I'd say get a free trial of all of them and decide which you like to work in best. If you need a program that will scale as your business grows however, I'd say Constant Contact is a better email provider.

Try out various programs - most offer a free trial - and evaluate which platform you prefer to work in. For small businesses, it will mostly come down to cost (which they all tend to be similar in cost) and ease of use. IContact is generally user-friendly but so are other providers. For larger companies, I would consider another platform that has more sophisticated capabilites for when your company scales or you'd like to elevate your email marketing efforts.

Mass distribution mailing of press releases and other firm news. Some of my clients used IContact and it did the job. The reporting is also pretty decent on IContact but as I said, it's customization options are somewhat limited.

"Excellent Product with Amazing Customer Service"

What do you like best?

iContact has an easy to use platform for creating great looking mass communications. The Customer Service I get with iContact is amazing! My CSRs have always been incredibly responsive. We are a small nonprofit and many of us are doing double duty. iContact is perfect for us to create polished pieces in a short timeframe.

What do you dislike?

There are some little bugs that we wish were easier to fix, but as I understand, this the case with many other products. For instance, we don't always love the way our emails look in Outlook but that appears to be an Outlook issue.

"Simple to use and setup, but can be buggy sometimes"

What do you like best?

The simplicity of iContact when creating, sending, and tracking emails is great. The templates are easy to use as well.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes creating an email is buggy in their WYSIWYG editor. For example, you'll be working on a template and it won't let you save. Or you create an email and somehow images you previously added (and thought you deleted) will show up in the email when you send it even though in the editor they didn't show up. Also, there aren't that many interesting or professional looking templates and i found you have to spend a lot of time editing them to make them work for you - but I guess that can be good because then it becomes more unique to your business?

Be sure you check and double check your code before sending and make sure you have test emails on different devices/browsers before you send out ANY emails.

"Easy to use Marketing Automation Tool"

What do you like best?

iContact is very easy to use compared to some programs. I really like having to confirm my initials prior to send in order to make sure I have remembered everything.

What do you dislike?

I seem to run into a lot of html issues if I reuse an old template/email. I struggle with keeping the formatting consistent. So it would be nice to have that functionality addressed. I would also like more features in the editor.

"Gets the Job Done and then some"

What do you like best?

Easy to use, great tech support, great analytics, good features for sync with Salesforce. No need to worry about licenses and number of users. You actually do get a lot with a basic level of service.

What do you dislike?

Can be a little challenging to learn the ins and outs of list management and segmentation. Knowledge bank is hard to navigate. Had trouble with some templates getting flagged as spam.

The tech support is really great. You are assigned to your own rep so you really get to build a relationship with someone.

We're able to send out more emails and track our segments better. It's easy enough to use so that anyone can hop in and work in it, especially if someone's out or on vacation. Probably one of the biggest benefits we've realized is the time we get back by not having to mess around with a bad product.

"Stay in touch and generate new business!"

What do you like best?

iContact enables me to reach out to my client base to keep them informed about our upcoming diversity, Veteran, professional and collegiate career fairs. They can sign up using a PDF registration form, thus generating new sales. It's a great tool for our needs.

What do you dislike?

iContact has a tracking statistic called no info. Unfortunately I cannot track if anyone is actually opening our email message in this group unless I call them and ask. Many times I'm told they have viewed and opened up the email sent using iContact but their virus protection software blocks sending tracking data.

Highly recommended for small businesses who need a cost effective way to generate new revenue and stay in touch with clients in a timely manner.

"iContact"

What do you like best?

iContact is fairly easy to use, and has tons of templates to choose from. They always get it sent out on time and Ive not had issues with spamming or anything.

What do you dislike?

The frames are sometimes frustrating and an auto save or save feature would be nice with out having to exit what I'm doing. It did take me a bit to get use to designing with the templates but once I did it was a lot better.

It will take a minuet for you to figure out but with that being said, I didn't do any tutorials or anything and they do have great customer support.

iContact is constantly innovating and adding new tools and value to their product.

That I can't see a "summary" of everything (lists selected and suppressed, time the message is scheduled for) before I hit send.

"I use many different email services with clients, this one of my favorites"

What do you like best?

The ease of access makes navigating and creating an email simple. Creating segments really helps keep your list organized. I also enjoy the welcome email abilities.

What do you dislike?

After the recent redesign, it took some time to find the regular tools I was used to. Now I am getting used to it. We also have a bug in our list calculator but I believe it is being worked on.

Reporting tools help establish good send times, subject that work, ect.

"Not quite there yet, "

What do you like best?

The thing that I like most about iContact is the ability to schedule posts in the future, and ease of creating mailing lists.

What do you dislike?

iContact doesn't use any kind of optimization tools to tell you when the ideal time to post would be, and their layouts are really basic and uninteresting.

This program is fine if all you're trying to do is send out mailings to a dedicated mailing list, but if you're looking to generate interesting content, or help with knowing when to post, there are programs that are much easier to use.

"Wonderful Automation Tool"

What do you like best?

I love the fact that iContact allows me to automate my business newsletter. I can create sign up forms, lists and autoresponders for all my lead magnets.

What do you dislike?

I dislike that I can not create web links that will allow people to sign up for my newsletters immediately.

It is a great program that fits the needs of a small and growing business. There is a slight learning curve but nothing that can not be overcome if you use the video training.

"iContact FTW"

What do you like best?

I would be lost without iContact. I run a small bespoke B2B agency in the Middle East and it helps me to communicate to segmented audience. I have created newsletters for our clients and helped to monitor. Sometimes the social media APIs are a problem but that could be the main social media platforms and not iContact. They are very prompt with responses to resolving issues and while they are not perfect, they are as perfect as I need to be.

What do you dislike?

Its not really a dislike but the inability to do Arabic for my region is a bit of a setback but not enough to stop using them.

Definitely try it at a smaller level if you have not used if. If you are using Mailchimp - CHANGE.

"IContact does the job!"

What do you like best?

It's fairly easy to use and to work out what you need to do.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes its hard to get the links right for FB or linkedin to work properly.

This is a good way to get your message out. Take the time to have a look around and read what you need to do. It doesn't take long to work out the info and its worthwhile. I like the fact that its easy to use but i find uploading a bit difficult sometimes depending on what I want to upload.

"Helps us get the word out!"

What do you like best?

It is an easy interface that makes sending out e-blasts quick and painless. It also helps us keep track of the hundreds of different mailing lists we offer as a non-profit. I especially love how I can click and choose which groups I want to send things to.

What do you dislike?

I would love to see more branding/font/etc options in the email creator. It's hard to work with 6-7 fonts. I would also like to see an easier picture uploader.

Give it a shot! It makes mass e-mailing and contact management as easy as clicking a button!

"iContact makes my job easier"

What do you like best?

iContact is a very user friendly product for anyone. My company sends thousands of emails a week and we are always very pleased with how easy it is to create an email and send it immediately. I also really enjoy the dashboard, it helps me keep track knowing what emails have been sent and what emails I have yet to send. i also appreciate that iContact technology can delete any duplicate people in a contact list. That saves me time from having to go through thousands of people making sure I don't have any duplicates.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes when I am creating a contact list in iContact, I have several excel sheets I need to upload to that one contact list...iContact doesn't let me select multiple excel sheets to upload at once, I have to do one at a time which takes a lot of extra time for me to do.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

iContact lets me reach my audience fast and efficiently. iContact also provides stats on each email so I can review what emails were more successful and which emails weren't as successful

"Best Decision to Switch to I contact"

What do you like best?

Customer Service is easy to contact and very helpful, Its nice to have an account manager that you can email or call at anytime and they check in on you each month

What do you dislike?

I would like to see more fonts and sizes and a better way to increase and reduce the line spacing.

"Great Experience "

What do you like best?

I like the way how easy it is to use the site.

I wish I could use a custom url to pull the html for my email.
