"iMeet Central: a sleek and simple project collaboration tool"

What do you like best?

iMeet Central is an easily customizable product per company and per project. They are a great solution for project management and collaboration. There are hardly any problems that don't have solutions addressed in their Help Center. Their support team is responsive and helpful and all suggestions made to their product team have been addressed.

What do you dislike?

There are often some network glitches that occur and the system does not send notices when issues pop up, leaving users unaware of why they cannot log in, save changes, etc.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Utilize the Help Center, live chat, and ZenDesk support systems--these are very helpful when managing your product. Although iMeet Central is not the most intuitive tool, it is highly customizable and the Help Center outlines the many different customizations customers can implement.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

1) The ability to extract data from iMeet Central assists with internal reporting. 2) Project teams use workspaces to stay organized during the project. The use of the issue, risk, and decision logs/databases ensures that items are being actioned / managed by the team.

"Good, customizable project management tool"

What do you like best?

Ability to customize solution to fit your needs

Helps to outline roles & responsibilities of team members working towards a common goal

Encourages team collaboration and tracks back and forth across teams

What do you dislike?

With it being so highly customizable based on need, it is hard to "run" without a dedicated project manager that can speak to IMC on a regular basis & attend conferences to learn tips/tricks. As an account manager in an agency without a dedicated project manager on my accounts, it can sometimes be a struggle to understand best practices and requires a lot of test & learning.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

- Standardizing & tracking steps in a process and assigning roles & responsibilities: streamlined view of all projects and ability to pass along tasks seamlessly regardless of departments/out of offices/level within organization

- CRM database building to track personal & business information of clients, creating a more knowledgeable outreach to those clients

What Team Collaboration solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"Collaboration tool that needs some work"

What do you like best?

I like that everything was able to be hosted in one place and there were a lot of different tabs to separate documents. You didn't need a team organization tool, a calendar tool and a file uploading tool. Its all in one place,

What do you dislike?

When they moved over I noticed alot of glitches trying to get my spreadsheets to load. I also had issues sometimes having my most recent updates saved. It also wasn't easy to figure out how to download a spread sheet that was created within the platform.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It helps with team collaboration and getting everyone on the same page. Makes it easy to share and find files.

"Excellent Task Management Option"

What do you like best?

The functionality of database creation and usage has been excellent! Our company uses iMeet Central databases for a wide variety of needs and there hasn't been many experiences where iMC hasn't been up to par for what we need it for.

What do you dislike?

This dislike is specific to our company's usage; I find that each department uses iMeet Central so wildly different that it's difficult to train each new person on it. In providing my training, I have decided to stick to the basics - maneuvering through the site, the basics of task management, and just a very general/broad overview. The nice thing about iMC is that our new team members can simply spend some time browsing around to learn it beyond the basics I show them! I always tell them, "You can't break it, so just dig around!" and it's been working well.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

iMeet Central has been an excellent addition to our Operations and Facilities departments. The tasks/task lists/milestones are fantastic in ensuring everything gets done on their specific timelines.

"Flexible Collaboration"

What do you like best?

I like the ability to dynamically create a centralized database of domain knowledge.

What do you dislike?

With a million different ways to do something, often times we tend to run off and do things that aren't the best way to get things done. This is a collaboration tool that requires a substantial amount of collaboration with Central Desktop to find out if you're on the right track. It's really a lump of clay.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Stay in close contact with your implementation specialist. This product is a musical instrument; it can sit and collect dust or plunk out a few lackluster songs, but in the right hands with the right training, you can create symphonies.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

There's just too much information spread out across the company, and yet most of the company still isn't able to find what they need so they resort to emailing others with questions that have already been answered, or they start their own Excel files full of information that somebody else has already created.

"OK too, but a bit convoluted"

What do you like best?

relatively easy to use for new PM / collaboration users if properly administered

What do you dislike?

Easy to miss adding people to posts, so some folks never see what they are meant to see.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure you understand the in's and out's and train the team. While a lot is self-explanatory, the full potential of the software will only be utilized if there is a common understanding and utilization within the team!

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Virtual team interactions. Keep everyone on track and on task. Minimizing duplication of efforts.

"A great way to keep a team organized and encourage collaboration"

What do you like best?

I love being able to create databases of information where my team can store information and files. It makes it easy to keep everything in order and be able to reference data with ease.

What do you dislike?

I dislike that there isn't a viewing option for people who are not CD members. I'd love to be able to share databases without having to export into excel and email.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Keep things fluid. It can take a few reorganizations of content to achieve the best results with CD.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The biggest problem being solved is organization. With Central Desktop everything is in one place and the whole team has access to it.

"Location, Location, Location!!!"

What do you like best?

Everything is centralized!!

As in Real Estate, the location of the property is one of the main factors that determines its value on the market, so the ability for Central Desktop to have everything you are working on located in a centralized way, it is of tremendous value. Saving time and becoming more efficient in the way one works will definitely will give any company and edge over its competitors.

The system has the ability to easily collaborate with your internal teams, outside vendors and clients. By having the system on the cloud allows for everyone to have readily access to the work at hand.

For us two elements make this a winning solution:

1. The ability to open, edit and have version control of any type of document. You dont have to download the file, open the file with your local application and then uploading the file again. Now just click on the file within the browser. The file opens with your local application. All changes are recorded back to CD and when you close the file, the new version is updated in CD. So So simple.

2. Creative asset comments and approvals. As an agency having the possibility of collaborating on an asset with people, having it record all comments and retaining versions of all previous changes its what makes this solution so appealing.

What do you dislike?

As in any system there is always continuous improvement. What I would like to see in the near future is the integration of a financial module.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you are successful in incorporating CD into your work processes, it will definitely make your company better suited for rapid growth and have an edge over your competition.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The immediate benefits that I have seen that are of high impact are:

The reduction of the job life cycle.

The location of all files related to the job are stored in the same location.

Incorporation of email interactions between teams are readily available within the job itself

Retain Company history of the job is not lost.

Use it as a research and reference tool for future jobs.

"Very Efficient Collaboration Portal"

What do you like best?

The platform was very easy to develop and use. We had Tellers, Operations Clerks, Lenders in addition to IT Professional all working within the same portal. We used the product throughout the entire bank merger project from our initial kick-off meetings with our core bank vendor through the conversion weekend. The file repositories were heavily used to share datafiles between the bank teams and also to share with our core bank vendor.

What do you dislike?

We had no problems with the product nor do we have any suggestions at this time.

Recommendations to others considering the product

We reviewed other products in this space and we were impressed with the ease of set-up and how quickly we could get going with the product. We were very pleased as we used Central Desktop for a bank merger project. All parties at all technical levels were able to quickly learn and use the portal. We recently completed the bank merger project and will now transition into using Central Desktop for other internal projects.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We initially implemented the product to allow employees of both banks to work on a bank merger. It was a secure platform to allow us to schedule meetings, share confidential information and have a project plan to keep us all on task. The merger was a success and this product helped us with all of the communication and project planning needs. We will continue to develop other areas of functionality in the product now that the merger has been completed.

"Easy to use and administer"

What do you like best?

Central Desktop has an interesting set of pre-defined reports that can be tuned according to your needs mainly for administration purposes. The interface is very friendly and has the same characteristics than any Social Network or Collaboration Tool.

Support Team Members are awesome, you always get responses from them on the same day.

What do you dislike?

The only thing I would suggest to improve is to align the tool with ISO standards (just very few arrangements need to be done to be ISO compliant). If you can show you are ISO compliant, a lot of companies of varied industries could adopt the tool.

Maybe the possibility to include other languages for the tool could improve use.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Interconnection between people from different areas and countries. It is important to have a centralized repository where to store files eliminating the risk of a disk failure on a personal computer.

"Great tool for an agency environment"

What do you like best?

The checklist oriented nature of the product. The workflow automation rules within databases.

What do you dislike?

It's not super visually appealing, which some of my end-users particularly creatives complain about.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Get to know your support reps, they are always taking into consideration our feedback and suggestions and have made system changes based on that.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Workflow automation using databases.

"Central Desktop offers a great tool for our group!"

What do you like best?

The support that Central Desktop provides is great. Our staff has been impressed with the service and power that is available through the system. The users of the system find it easy to use and really love the convenience of versioning and keeping email threads all in one place.

What do you dislike?

The largest hurdle for us is getting users to try something new. When they use the system they find it convenient. Alignment of some items is sometimes cumbersome but that is mainly cosmetic.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are finding methods to house all drafts of products in one location along with the comments. As we are writing we sometimes want to review prior drafts and the versioning function allows this. Our staff is also able to have a one stop place for files and information.

"Central Desktop is an awesome online collaborative tool!"

What do you like best?

Central Desktop has a very user friendly interface which makes it super easy to create custom websites for multiple projects. I like how you can upload files, add comments, create wiki pages, receive notifications and maintain exportable databases. The Engagement Manager assigned to my company is always eager to hear from us and willing to help brainstorm solutions to support company workflows.

What do you dislike?

The search feature is the most frequent complaint I've heard from my company. People do not want to dig into the advanced search filters in order to find files. Search results show archived files and pages, in any workspace created by our company. I know how to create a search box for only one workspace, plus I have created a document inventory database to aid searching, however people claim they do not know it exists, and resort to only using the master search box for Central Desktop, which displays too many results.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Central Desktop has been a reliable and easy way to store and share documents using the internet. The version feature, which allows you to enter a comment each time you replace a file, is excellent.

"MLB Advanced Media's use of Central Desktop"

What do you like best?

The flexibility of the system is the strongest attribute in my opinion, and the reason I feel that CD's usage within MLBAM has grown every year for 5 straight years.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes I can struggle with navigation from location to location of what I'm looking for, but I think that's as much to do with the familiarity of the system nomenclature as it is with our complex multi-comapny, multi-workspace setup.

Recommendations to others considering the product

You will never regret implementing CD into your ecosystem. If you have a problem, this SaaS can FIND a solution for you.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It's largely a task management and task communication tool for MLBAM, but I'd say that we've also found another half-dozen purposes that are outside of the original design and intent of the system.

"Central Desktop Proofing system is superb!"

What do you like best?

Central Desktop Proofing System makes life so much easier

What do you dislike?

Only used within marketing department as cost to roll out to whole business is too high.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Reviewed a number of these collaboration tools before choosing central desktop. The proofing system makes this the best available in my opinion.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Proofing system has allowed us to get documents, adverts and packaging artworks discussed and approved in a much more streamlined manner saving us time and money in the process.

Centralised task management and communication tools has improved management of my team and allowed me to stay in touch even when mobile.

"Flexible and progressive"

What do you like best?

Central Desktop has evolved into a very flexible tool for agencies. Highly customizable with features you don't usually see at this price point.

What do you dislike?

Wish it would integrate with our financial system.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Consider rolling out with all features for one client, instead of one feature for all clients.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The Problem that Central Desktop helps to solve:

• Presenting flash banners to internal and external clients fully animated

• Client resource required to continually set up URL’s for banner proofs.

• Internal agency resource required to QA and coordinate

• Limitations in current capability hinder ability to grow competency in digital

• Limited by current technology in ability to collaborate on creative, timing of approvals

"Consistently impressed with the efficiency of the Central Desktop team"

What do you like best?

Not only is this cloud based system an incredible asset to our agency, but the team is always friendly and willing to help.

What do you dislike?

There are so many features on Central Desktop it is a challenge to learn everything.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Just do it!

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are solving several issues such as email-overload, organizing files, editing documents, and stimulating the workflow of large campaigns as well as day to day tasks. The benefits of team collaboration on workspaces have resulted in great strides for our agency.

"Good combination of collaboration features"

What do you like best?

Right combination of collaboration features. Ability to limit features and functions in specific workspaces for ease of use. Indexed search.

What do you dislike?

Lack of folder level permissioning / access controls. Limited workflow capabilities. Lack of breadcrumbs so I always know where I am and can navigate back to a specific spot.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Consider whether their workflow engine is sufficiently robust and if folder / file-level permissioning is required. These are two key limitations with Central Desktop.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

File sharing and document management for collaborative work on documents and presentations. Ability to create simple databases and use them via our website. Indexing gives us the ability to find items much more easily then on a shared drive.

"Incredibly easy to learn and use "

What do you like best?

Ease of use. It's quick to learn. Quick to customize the way I need to use it. Easy to make changes to templates, rules, and workspaces on the fly. It's very reliable.

What do you dislike?

Honestly the thing is dislike the most is the lack of flexibility with the calendar, in particular with aggregating multiple calendars into one in a readable way like google calendar.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We've seriously improved company wide transparency and helped many people become a little bit better at planning and managing projects. We've also found the Proof add-in licensing a real awesome feature set that really helps with many of the items we work on.

What do you like best?

The user interface and usability. This platform is very stable, has a great user interface that allows you to work without reaching out to IT for support.

What do you dislike?

Lack of ability to move DB from one workspace to another.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

"Central Desktop"

What do you like best?

I like that it provides an alert system for upcoming events, overdue deadlines, and pending tasks. Also, our customer service rep Elizabeth Bruns is incredibly responsive and helpful.

What do you dislike?

The system can be very buggy. Co-editing a document is cumbersome and requires downloading a separate application.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We need a dashboard tool to better manage the work of the Board. Having everyone use the same platform has proven helpful as a means to streamline efforts and minimize duplication of work, however the application is not intuitive, and some of our users have had not wanted to continue working via Central Desktop for this reason.
