Good, customizable project management tool

What do you like best?

Ability to customize solution to fit your needs

Helps to outline roles & responsibilities of team members working towards a common goal

Encourages team collaboration and tracks back and forth across teams

What do you dislike?

With it being so highly customizable based on need, it is hard to "run" without a dedicated project manager that can speak to IMC on a regular basis & attend conferences to learn tips/tricks. As an account manager in an agency without a dedicated project manager on my accounts, it can sometimes be a struggle to understand best practices and requires a lot of test & learning.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

- Standardizing & tracking steps in a process and assigning roles & responsibilities: streamlined view of all projects and ability to pass along tasks seamlessly regardless of departments/out of offices/level within organization

- CRM database building to track personal & business information of clients, creating a more knowledgeable outreach to those clients

Collaboration tool that needs some work

What do you like best?

I like that everything was able to be hosted in one place and there were a lot of different tabs to separate documents. You didn't need a team organization tool, a calendar tool and a file uploading tool. Its all in one place,

What do you dislike?

When they moved over I noticed alot of glitches trying to get my spreadsheets to load. I also had issues sometimes having my most recent updates saved. It also wasn't easy to figure out how to download a spread sheet that was created within the platform.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It helps with team collaboration and getting everyone on the same page. Makes it easy to share and find files.

Excellent Task Management Option

What do you like best?

The functionality of database creation and usage has been excellent! Our company uses iMeet Central databases for a wide variety of needs and there hasn't been many experiences where iMC hasn't been up to par for what we need it for.

What do you dislike?

This dislike is specific to our company's usage; I find that each department uses iMeet Central so wildly different that it's difficult to train each new person on it. In providing my training, I have decided to stick to the basics - maneuvering through the site, the basics of task management, and just a very general/broad overview. The nice thing about iMC is that our new team members can simply spend some time browsing around to learn it beyond the basics I show them! I always tell them, "You can't break it, so just dig around!" and it's been working well.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

iMeet Central has been an excellent addition to our Operations and Facilities departments. The tasks/task lists/milestones are fantastic in ensuring everything gets done on their specific timelines.

Flexible Collaboration

What do you like best?

I like the ability to dynamically create a centralized database of domain knowledge.

What do you dislike?

With a million different ways to do something, often times we tend to run off and do things that aren't the best way to get things done. This is a collaboration tool that requires a substantial amount of collaboration with Central Desktop to find out if you're on the right track. It's really a lump of clay.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Stay in close contact with your implementation specialist. This product is a musical instrument; it can sit and collect dust or plunk out a few lackluster songs, but in the right hands with the right training, you can create symphonies.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

There's just too much information spread out across the company, and yet most of the company still isn't able to find what they need so they resort to emailing others with questions that have already been answered, or they start their own Excel files full of information that somebody else has already created.

OK too, but a bit convoluted

What do you like best?

relatively easy to use for new PM / collaboration users if properly administered

What do you dislike?

Easy to miss adding people to posts, so some folks never see what they are meant to see.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure you understand the in's and out's and train the team. While a lot is self-explanatory, the full potential of the software will only be utilized if there is a common understanding and utilization within the team!

Virtual team interactions. Keep everyone on track and on task. Minimizing duplication of efforts.

A great way to keep a team organized and encourage collaboration

What do you like best?

I love being able to create databases of information where my team can store information and files. It makes it easy to keep everything in order and be able to reference data with ease.

What do you dislike?

I dislike that there isn't a viewing option for people who are not CD members. I'd love to be able to share databases without having to export into excel and email.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Keep things fluid. It can take a few reorganizations of content to achieve the best results with CD.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The biggest problem being solved is organization. With Central Desktop everything is in one place and the whole team has access to it.
