"Great Employee Engagement Tool"

What do you like best?

It's an all in one platform that allows us to keep our spread out employee base (in three locations) up to date with news and information while also allowing them the ability to communicate and respond back. It keeps everyone feeling like they are a part of the company. It gives our employees the ability to interact with each other and with the company as a whole. The discussion rooms have been great for committees to work and the calendar feature has been very helpful as well.

What do you dislike?

I'd love to see some more analytics, but the changes this year have been great. I'd also like to see Facebook and other social streams incorporated into the newsfeed.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I've actually recommended this platform to numerous others. It's been a great product for us to use with our employees and we find it to be a valuable resource that others could benefit from too. Since we have three offices, this allows to keep everyone up to date on what's happening. It's had a positive impact on our corporate culture and I think it will for others as well.

It's allowed us to make an impact on corporate culture. It's been a great tool to help keep multiple departments aware of what's happening around the company.

"Quite possibly the most intuitive intranet on the market."

What do you like best?

Jostle offers an intuitive user interface that requires nominal training for employee users, and a very robust set of tools for administrative-level users. The various sections of the site and terminology used across the platform are well thought-out, which ensures quick and broad adoption. There is plenty of opportunity for customization to meet the unique requirements of most companies. Our company's favorites are the People, Events, and News / Activity sections, which provide the most opportunity, with Discussions and Library following closely.

What do you dislike?

Jostle's inability to link more than one Google email domain has created some challenges in having a fluid feed for employees of another major business unit.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Build a key stakeholder team from across the company and secure ownership and commitment to implement their portion of the plan. Create milestones and hit them. Build the entire People and Library database first and test every aspect. Success is 95% upfront planning and buildout.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Before Jostle, we had a number of disparate systems to rely on for communicating information and with each other, distributing documents, sharing calendars, and looking for people across the company. Jostle has allowed us to do all that on a single platform in an easy-to-use, engaging way. Beyond the obvious benefits, we have also been able to create a way to share new properties before they hit the market, more effectively roll out new products, and share best practices in real time.

"Jostle does what it is meant to do. Strong product."

What do you like best?

Jostle has been a great tool for office communication for news, events, and publications. It’s easy to use, easy to log into and overall gets the job done. It has a social media feel to it so it appeals to a large audience and shares some functionality which reduced training needs.

What do you dislike?

Jostle main issue is you have to fetch the information. The tools are limited for proactive notifications. Which often leads to many getting the news late. It take a lot of user responsibility to retrieve the information. It is a strong easy product but misses the mark on integrations and notifications.

Recommendations to others considering the product

This product does well in a lot of regards. Compare this to Microsoft Yammer and you will have a great product comparison.

We wanted a central tool that allows us to send out notifications to employees outside of email. To have an office newsletter and classified where people could comment and have two way feedback over news content.

"Jostle has been a great tool to engage staff, share communications, and be our knowledge repository"

What do you like best?

I like the Jostle’s search bar the most. It allows you to search the entire site (news, library, people, discussions etc). It also searches within most documents (depending on how it is created) so if the employee is looking for a procedure document, they don’t need the title to ensure it displays in the search results.

The News screen is awesome, which contains an activity feed for shout-outs, birthday's, anniversaries etc... as well as the News items to the right. Staff are updated on everything that is going on, and you can publish news to targeted groups, which makes the News section tailored to the individual. Filter options throughout the screens also allow an individual to customize their Jostle view!

What do you dislike?

Not much to dislike, since things that I have disliked or thought could be improved on in the past, actually were addressed. This was done via the Suggest a Feature option they have. Jostle really listens to what the users have to say!

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We improved communication with the News and Discussion sections. We have also provided staff with a central spot to open all their other important sites that they access in the day (Links screen). Jostle is our default web browser homepage.

We have also reduced the amount of emails that are sent out and improved team collaboration by having team specific discussion threads. Finally we have solved the issue of needing a knowledge repository with enhanced search functionality which Jostle provides.

"I can't imagine our workplace without Jostle"

What do you like best?

We have been using Jostle since mid-2014. Jostle is a complete, intuitive intranet that helps us improve employee engagement, express our culture and make communication happen. It is much more than a typical run-of-the-mill intranet, it acts as an internal social media platform, helping make our workplace connected and super engaged. Several of our employees work from home, so previously there was never a way for all our employees to get to know one another. Before Jostle, we communicated via email or at our monthly staff lunches. Jostle was easy to implement, doesn't cost a fortune and the user interface design is great.

What do you dislike?

Some of the admin functions are hard to navigate. I usually have to spend a few minutes trying to figure out how to do something new. Multiple photos (for galleries) can be slow to upload.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Talk to the helpful customer success team. If you need help convincing decision makers, they can provide lots of resources. I can honestly say you couldn't go wrong choosing Jostle.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Quicker onboarding for new employees. When new staff join, they make the transition a lot faster thanks to Jostle. They can get to know their coworkers through Jostle profiles and in turn feel more comfortable talking to others around the office.

Improved cross business unit transfers of knowledge. Before Jostle, it was commonplace for employees not to know what other employees were working on.

Better event promotion and increased participation.

A better hand on what employees like and don’t like (though the 'polls' function).

Better peer recognition. The shout-out feature has helped make us a more supportive and less competitive environment.

"Powerful tool for sharing info across company but not as strong with the details"

What do you like best?

Jostle instantly connects users throughout the company and makes it easy for anyone to figure out who anyone else is. Great for onboarding/orientation and sharing ideas, fostering community and collaboration.

What do you dislike?

Web application is slow, mobile app feels even slower and has limited functionality.

Articles can’t be posted via mobile, which severely limits our organization’s ability to share important information.

Limited integration with other systems. We don’t really use Jostle discussions because they aren’t as simple to use or access as Hangouts or Slack.

Each thing that Jostle doesn’t do well means that staff spend less time in it which means that they get less out of it and put less into it. Things like Classified don’t get used much as a result.

Jostle’s News and Shout Outs are the main highlights for us, with the People area being used by new staff to figure out who’s who in the zoo.

Recommendations to others considering the product

While worthy of consideration, you may find other newer platforms out there that meet your needs better. Be clear on what your needs are. Jostle does some things pretty well, others not so much.

Sharing information across sites brings the company closer together and breaks up siloing and us vs themming. This has been a significant benefit for our company as we’ve grown.

Presenting org structure visually makes it easy for anyone to see and understand reporting relationships and teams.

"Great, user-friendly platform to connect employees!"

What do you like best?

Jostle is very user-friendly. The design is great and laid out in a straightforward way that makes the platform easy for anyone to use. My favorite aspect is the Activity feed because you can shout-out employees or their hard work or share a photo!

What do you dislike?

I wish Jostle could be a separate application on our desktop computers or laptops, instead of a website, so that it reminds employees to use everyday.

We started Jostle because we needed a platform to help connect our employees across different offices and share information in an efficient manner. "User Friendly-Customizeable"

What do you like best?

I like the ease of being able to post articles to the intranet. Our manufacturing employees don't always feel comfortable using computers but just about every single one of them find it easy to navigate through Jostle.

What do you dislike?

Our sytems aren't always compatible with Jostle (for example our active directory to import users or our visio program to export the employee org chart.)

Jostle acts as a one stop shop for our employees to easily access all the information they need in one place- whether it's forms or just general company information. It helps everyone stay connected on a user friendly platform.

"End User"

What do you like best?

The home page is easy on the eyes and navigation is very simple. It's nice to have one place for all our employees to go to for communications and documents. I like that you can do shout outs or share updates with people. We implemented single sign on which makes it easy to log into. I also set it so I get email notification each time an article is published.

What do you dislike?

User adoption can be challenging depending on your workforce. The Share an Update or Shout Out button can often times be mistaken for the search field. This causes some very strange shout outs. We also have a lot of technical problems using JostleTV.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are trying to find a single platform that is used as a hub for all our communication needs.

"Jostle is Fantastic!"

What do you like best?

It's so easy to use! It's a great way to communicate with people at our business locations across the country. The people at Jostle are so helpful with any questions or concerns I have.

What do you dislike?

We have people in our company who speak english and others who speak only spanish. There is currently no way to automatically translate the content posted.

It's so easy to use and understand. The mobile app makes is even more accessible to people whose job is not at a computer.

"Intranet Review"

What do you like best?

We use Jostle as a tool to communicate with our staff. We find the shout-out feed is extremely helpful in providing immediate recognition for great work, as well as inform staff quickly about community involvement events, etc.

What do you dislike?

The only thing I wish Jostle did differently was under the "EVENTS" page, the ability to have an event say "All Day" instead of 12:00AM - 11:30PM. It says "All Day" when the event covers more than one day, but not if it's for a full one-day event.

"Best work communication tool!"

What do you like best?

So easy to use. Adding, changing, sharing is all seamless. It's one place for staff to go to find information about the library and about their coworkers. It makes people feel more a part of the whole organization

What do you dislike?

Not a dislike so much as a wish that it worked more seamlessly with Google suite of apps. I'd like to see video chat and real time chat available.

Absolutely wonderful support. Cheerful people to work with who don't just leave you once you're set-up. They improve and upgrade on a regular basis that actually make sense and are useful. What a refreshing change. Jostle makes all the difference in our library's ability to share, communicate, and collaborate.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Jostle has been amazing for communicating across the district. We have four locations and 50 employees...so not a large organization. But we use Jostle for most of our district-wide communication, sharing, and collaborating. We require that staff check it daily for updates and more and more staff are posting and sharing. It's been fun watching people engage with one another.

"awesome, easy, and fun"

What do you like best?

The main platform is easy and attractive - the admin side is just as easy to manage! It's a fresh site that incorporates world wide social media styles which attract to many. The fact that we are NOT in IT and were able to figure it out the admin side and easily implement was awesome! It's just as easy to continue to manage too!

Events could use more features for organizing and sorting

"Useful tool "

What do you like best?

I like the libraries feature in jostle. All important documents can be stored for everyone to grab when needed, instead of digging through an old file folder looking one page of the employee handbook from 2015.

What do you dislike?

It's honestly too much like a casual social media site sometimes. I don't want to have a facebook-like tool used at work, but that's what it ends up feeling like sometimes.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It's a great alternative to emailing everyone in the company about an event or situation. Set up correctly, you can see these alerts the moment you log in, and I really appreciate it. Also with events it lets you add to Outlook from Jostle, which is good for Outlook users.

Jostle's platform keeps our employees engaged across different geographic locations through it's centralized News, People, Discussions, Library and Org-wide Links features. IT is the most important platform in our organization when it comes to culture and internal communications. Besides the traditional emails and phone calls, there is now a deeper connection between colleagues across locations - all of which is possible with Jostle's dynamic and engaging collaborative platform. Whether it's through our diverse news content, discussions or updates/shout-outs, every employee at Per Scholas has a voice, which contributes to a positive and unified corporate culture.

"Jostle has been a great tool to bring our company together."

What do you like best?

We enjoy using the news feed to give shout outs, as well as share pictures from projects our different teams are accomplishing in all of our different markets. We also enjoy posting articles showing current events that relate to our industry as well as articles about things going on company-wide.

What do you dislike?

I actually have two different Jostle accounts for two different sister companies. I wish I could have both accounts open simultaneously, but instead I have to logout of one to login to the other.

Jostle is a great collaborating tool that unites all our employees over different business units. It truly helps to strengthen our synergy as a diverse company and keep our momentum going as a team while we share each others successes.

"One-Stop-Site for our needs!"

What do you like best?

The versatility of Jostle makes it super easy to keep a bunch of different information in one place.

What do you dislike?

There are a few features that would be great to have more flexibility with when looking to personalize the site for our own specific needs.

Communication between staff, managers and upper management have been a lot more easily executed through Jostle than before. It allows us to make company wide announcements, or announcements to a specific group of employees.

"One stop shop for our company intranet"

What do you like best?

Having a filterable, searchable personnel directory with org charts along with a document library and shared discussions/calendars on one site.

What do you dislike?

The news functionality is great but could be a little more robust.

"Excellent product that keeps our employees in touch and connected."

What do you like best?

The interface is intuitive and requires minimal training. As an organisation with limited back office staff, we needed an intranet that required minimal support from both the HR and IT functions. Jostle takes the hassle away from maintaining and supporting the intranet.

What do you dislike?

In some place, the functionality could be considered to be a little bit limited when compared to other intranets on the market. However, what Jostle does, it does very well.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you want to simple to use Intranet that requires minimal support, Jostle is the product. If you are looking for an extremely sophisticated Intranet with lots of complicated functionality, then maybe you should look elsewhere.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our previous intranet was very one directional with no interction with the staff. We were looking for something that allowed a two way conversation. As nearly half our staff work either from their home office or very small regional offices, we wanted something that connected us all together.

We have over 90% of staff logging into Jostle on a regular basis and discovered unknown expertise from within the workplace.

Jostle offers a great experience to staff. I like that it's a social platform that's unique in its presentation - it keeps it focussed on being a social platform for work but is still very enjoyable to use and administer.

The platform has enabled our growing company to communicate better across offices and regions, keeping staff aware of progress and events. It's become a great method for staff to learn about the company but also be engaged in defining our corporate culture as it evolves and changes. "Probably the best decision we made"

What do you like best?

It fills our brief exactly and is evolving which is our ethos. Easy to use form a user point of view which is a major time saver for us.

"Great cloud intranet platform for business"

What do you like best?

It is easy to use from a user and admin perspective. The platform is also updated very regularly with fixed and new functionality. And support is great in times of issues.

What do you dislike?

Limited feature set for library options and over the years the platform hasn't really gotten a facelift to keep current of code look and feel.

"Easy & User-Friendly Way to Bring Team Communication Together In One Space"

What do you like best?

Jostle is super easy to implement & use for anyone. It truly makes it simple to have a 'one-stop-shop' for all employees at every level to have access to company tools & to share ideas with each other daily.

What do you dislike?

The layout is simple but it would be nice to be able to customize the layout ourselves.

Jostle provides a relatively easy to use medium for internal communications in firms with multiple offices or departments. Users can share photos, questions, stories etc and the personal profiles help put 'a face to the name'.

"Nice Idea"

What do you like best?

I like that it gives team members a place to share ideas, give shout-outs and post notices.

What do you dislike?

It seems kind of obsolete as a web-based application. It mimics that of a social media platform, but I'm not sure it serves a purpose beyond what we already use.

We were looking for a place for faculty and staff to share ideas and connect with each other. Jostle definitely serves that purpose.

"Jostle - Social media to boost employee communication and morale, if your company updates it."

What do you like best?

The ability to interact with co-workers and management in a social-media like setting helps to boost overall employee morale and each cmployees feeling of belonging within the company. I also found Jostle to help improve the overall company culture by giving it a more laid back and friendly feeling to the company, as well as making company management more accessible and human feeling. I felt connected to my employer while using Jostle and as such, I took more pride in my work so I ensured my work was always my best quality work.

What do you dislike?

The large drawback to Jostle is the apparent lack of automated systems to keep the community active and engaged. When my company first introduced their Jostle network, it was extremely active and a constant source of engaging work material and inspiration. Management did not keep it active though, so over time (a rather short period of time too) the store updates, pictures of varying smiling teams, corporate announcements, friendly congratulations and birthday notices, and all other content died out and it became a social media ghost town. This could be solved through automating processes to ensure content is always being added so the employees remain engaged, connected, and socializing.

Recommendations to others considering the product

My company introduced their Jostle network to many receptive users, but they failed to keep it active through regular updates. Once the employees realized that the company wasn't actively posting updates, usage of the network dwindled down quickly until it became nothing but a ghost town - an employee communication solution that had so much potential but was wholly underutilized, and the potential under-realized, by company management. Don't underestimate how powerful this could be. The power of a social network in your hands and used to benefit the company as a whole through employee retention, employee morale, promoting brand and company loyalty, the systematic boost to employee production quality due to these various factors, the free sharing of ideas to promote innovation and creativity, the boost to peer communication, etc. It's almost limitless how great Jostle COULD BE for your company - if it's ever used right.

Systems such as jostle that introduce peer networks for employees promote a positive company culture, employee morale, peer bonding, and company loyalty. A happy and loyal employee is much more likely to produce high quality and efficient work for the company.

"Efficient Information Sharing Software"

What do you like best?

The layout is very clean and user-friendly. Easily able to find other users and to post messages.

What do you dislike?

It has a bit of a delay on posting and I don't like that the email notifications don't include the full message, it makes you go to the site.

"Jostle has been a great addition to our communication tools within our company"

What do you like best?

Ease of use. Basically no training required with new users. Very intuitive.

What do you dislike?

Perhaps it would be helpful for Jostle to include some clipart or icons to use with the program. We often use these in announcements and have to go outside the program to search for clip art.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Discussions have reduced emails. Can communicate weather related closures with ease. Can communicate company happenings and roll out new incentive programs without cluttering email inboxes.

"Great Intranet "

What do you like best?

Jostle is a fantastic intranet. Communication and employee engagement soared once it was implemented. It was so easy to post news stories and the online directory search is amazing! I have since left my company that was using Jostle, but I miss it's easy to use interface! If you need a company intranet, choose Jostle. You won't be disappointed!

What do you dislike?

It's really a fantastic product. The only thing that is negative is that is a shared platform, which means you can't customize features. However you can make product development requests, and many times they are implemented.

How much would you be willing to spend to have your employees be more informed and engaged? The cost per user is worth the investment. This interface is easy to use and doesn't take long to launch to the organization.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The previous intranet the company was on was stale and outdated. It was a graveyard of documents. Once Jostle was implemented, employees were more engaged and aware of what was going on in the company. The graveyard of documents was replaced with only fresh and current documents. The ability to search and quickly find information is Jostle's biggest strength!

What do you like best?

I like the fact that Jostle is designed to act like your own company social media platform. It has a simple and easy to use design and is great for engaging staff members.

What do you dislike?

There is nothing I particularly dislike about the Jostle platform although I do feel like the library section could be more intuitive.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We increased employee engagement by using Jostle. I believe the reason for this is due to the modern design and users use the system naturally because it is designed like a social media platform. Users also like the fact they can access it from anywhere.

Jostle is innovative. They're probably using agile development so the feed back loop is short and improvements are constant.

What do you dislike?

Not too much. Everything is easy. For users. For admins. Support is great.

"Good platform with future potential"

What do you like best?

The design makes it very simple for users to navigate through the platform and read communications.

What do you dislike?

Data collection is very time consuming and there is no option to full screen an item when reading in pop-up view.

What do you like best?

Love the super-clean layout, with articles and comments on the same page. Good for interaction.

Lack of video support, could do with some more tech features (video, better photo upload for mobile)

"Social Media + Corporate Connections"

What do you like best?

The layout is very easy to use. It feels familiar and the learning curve is minimal. I go to Jostle for all of my company's links and to read about events across all our offices.

What do you dislike?

I wish that there was a way to chat within Jostle. The shout-out function is fun, but it would be nice if there was a better way to communicate within Jostle.

"Pretty good intranet system"

What do you like best?

Visually heavy; easy sync with google apps emails; good notifications for work anniversaries and birthdays

navigation on the left hand sidebar isn't as pretty or easy to navigate as it should be
