Kahuna is a lightweight, yet powerful marketing tool.

What do you like best?

The Kahuna interface is well-designed and easy to use, especially for push and in-app messaging. Kahuna is constantly improving to meet the evolving needs of its customers, which has included adding email, customer experiences, and SMS messaging. In addition, the customer support and success teams at Kahuna are second to none.

What do you dislike?

Kahuna needs to make some improvements to the email tool, but they are always open to product feedback and are diligently working to create a better customer experience.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It's great to have so many marketing resources in one platform. Given that we have a very small marketing team, Kahuna has allowed us to do more with less - being more agile and responsive with a single tool that is easy for all of our team members to use. We have also learned a lot about our users and how best to communicate with them thanks to the insights we can gather from Kahuna.

Pleasure to work with!

What do you like best?

My first interaction with Kahuna was about getting our omnichannel strategy up and running. We started out with literally no strategy - only sending e-mails. After working with Kahuna, we have been able to get the strategy off the ground rather quickly. We now have Push Notifications and In-App Notifications. We have tailored experiences for our consumers based on their behaviors, including the incorporation of e-mail, Push and soon In-App!

My Customer Success Manager - Christina Harewood is just truly one of a kind! I couldn't be happier!

What do you dislike?

While these have been fixed, we had a couple of really big bugs at the start of the project. Since then, a new CPO has come on board and we haven't experienced any issues, It seems like his attention to quality is at the forefront of his job responsibilities, which is refreshing!

Recommendations to others considering the product

Kahuna is a great platform that is continuously evolving. They pride themselves in delivering what the customer needs.

Problem:

Implement a fully functioning omnichannel communication strategy for mobile that incorporates email, push and in-app notifications,

Benefits:

-Double digit growth in mobile app engagement rate.

-Development of fully functioning first time user experience as it relates to messaging received once you download the app

-Excellent working relationship with Customer Success Manager who is ready to help at any time of day

-Consulting services for comparing our mobile strategy to that of the industry

Kahuna Experience

What do you like best?

The fact that the marketer can easily set up a campaign and send to a targeted audience at specific times.

What do you dislike?

The platform is very finicky in such that if you do certain things a certain way, your push's will not go out. Very frustrating.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I would recommend the product certainly.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

New channel for communicating to a mostly mobile audience as research shows our customers rarely use desktop anymore so being able to push and in-app message to them matches their trends of what they are doing to interact with us now.

Great product, great team

What do you like best?

The ability to A/B test different push campaigns and compare with several success metrics: re-engagement, push notification opt-outs, uninstalls, etc.

With this tool, we've been able to increase our re-engagement not only within the app, but also on our social media channels.

Thanks to Kahuna, we've reduced churn by 8% and saw a 23% increase in engagement.

What do you dislike?

I dislike that they define re-engagement by users re-opening the app (because it's not very granular), but I understand that they have limited success metrics to choose from, and they've responded to this by also measuring negative signals like users opting out of push notifications.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you're not seeing the results you want, ask them for help. They offer great customer support and although their product can seem complex, they really know what they're talking about and can help you get there too.

We are trying to grow and retain our user base. With Kahuna, we've made great improvements in retention and re-engagement.

Kahuna - A decent product for cross channel marketing

What do you like best?

Experience funnels, Scheduled posts, Ease of setting up filters which allows us to implement from our back end.

What do you dislike?

Data reporting capabilities and analytics dashboard are lacking, unable to build or extract quality reports. We have to use a 3rd party analytics software to meet our needs.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Re-engaging and increasing daily active users, Encouraging and priming user behaviour translated into actions.

Intelligent user-friendly messaging tool

What do you like best?

It's easy to implement. Our developers didn't sweat much to integrate Kahuna and the features are good for the amount of effort.

What do you dislike?

The draft and scheduling feature still needs some improvement.

User retention and conversion. We've grown significantly after using Kahuna.
