What do you like best?

KeyedIn allows our art department to work hand-in-hand with our sales department by creating an organized database of both customers and work orders. Our ability to keep all the info on each individual company saves us time & streamlines the project from the start.

What do you dislike?

There are several features that our creative department does not utilize such as invoicing and production stats so it can be intimidating at first. However being able to manage each individuals rights to certain sections of the software allows you to focus on learning only the areas that benefit your department

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We're creating detailed CRMs that hold all the info for each business in one area - accessible in office and on the go. The program is currently used between our 3 office locations making all info and photos readily available for people in all department. It also creates a running timeline of all projects in the works

KeyedIn has organized our projects!

What do you like best?

I like the task based project plans. They help keep me and the Engineers on plan and allows them to manage their workloads.

What do you dislike?

I wish the product had a dedicated customer portal that would let us give our customer vision into the system without using a license.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Ensure you understand what you want out of the platform and your roll-out will be much smoother.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We were having a problem understanding the work that is required for an Engineer to complete a project. We were using spreadsheets that were always behind on updates and they became obsolete very quickly. KeyedIn has help us lay out a project plan and make the Engineer responsible for keeping their tasks up to date. It has also allow me to assign someone and hold them accountable to complete the task. It has made my job, as PM, easier to do.

Ease of integration with CRM and Accounting & Finance Systems

What do you like best?

When we were looking to round out our ERP system, we needed a resource management system that would seamlessly integrate with our CRM and Accounting system. KeyedIn 's integration with SalesForce and Intacct met our needs and we now have only one point of entry for any piece information and the other two systems are automatically updated. Opportunities set up in SalesForce are transferred to KeyedIn os resources can be assigned. Time entered In KeyedIn is transferred to Intacct for Billing and Project Profitability tracking. KeyedIn truly rounded out our cloud based ERP by utilizing Best in Class solutions.

What do you dislike?

KeydIn times out and logs you out for inactivity over a shorter period of time than our other cloud based solutions.

Recommendations to others considering the product

KeyedIn's Customer Support and willingness to understand their customer's needs and work with them to achieve their needs is superior. Unlike other software vendors,they don't try to fit your business into their software, but work with you so their software fits your business.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Better utilization of our staff based on knowing current and projected availability of staff. Enabling us to assign the best staff based on skill set and ability which maximizes customer satisfaction, while enhancing employee engagement, and project profitability.

Powerful, flexible system for managing multiple projects

What do you like best?

Our consulting company provides B2B Marketing services to help clients accelerate sales revenue by building their Lead-to-Revenue capabilities. In many cases, we work as an extension of our client’s organization. We needed a tool to track resources, projects, time, and deliverables both for our internal team and for projects that include client resources. So while we’re a small company, we need to manage numerous projects and deadlines at any given time.

For our situation, we like the flexibility of Keyedin Projects to fit our operating environment and the project portfolio management capabilities. We prefer to initiate and plan projects at the top level and then add detail as information becomes available. We can manage as much, or as little as we need for a particular project or client.

The PPM reporting gives us an automated, big picture view of current projects, resource loading and upcoming deadlines.

What do you dislike?

The learning curve for new team members to get started is higher than a basic task tracking / project management tool such as Trello or BaseCamp. But this tool gives us the macro view of resource loading and project activity that a simpler tool doesn’t provide.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Don't under-estimate the time it takes to configure the system. Even though it is a reasonably mature cloud solution, we found there is still a lot of configuration required to make sure it all works together. As with a lot of systems, one small configuration setting can lead to unforeseen consequences further down the workflow and can take some time to resolve.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We needed a tool that allowed gave us a top-down perspective on projects and resources. For us, starting with this strategic, business level view is more important than the time consuming task of defining projects starting with the details. Instead, we add project details and resources as needed for a given project.

Highly Configurable system for managing Professional Services

What do you like best?

User logins and profiles enable you to easily break out group based permissions. The reporting feature (once learned) provides alot of valuable analytics and insights, based on project details and timesheet data.

What do you dislike?

System requires a lot of setup and configuring in order to operate properly. Every organization will need to have a dedicated resource to live and breathe the system, otherwise even the smallest tweaks or errors are difficult to diagnose, or fix, without support. Help Files are focused on "what", rather than "where", so are not a helpful source for troubleshooting.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Ensure you have a properly defined implementation plan. Configuration of the system is substantial and will require alot of time on both sides; suggest to have someone dedicated to this as a full time role for the initial implementation, UAT, and two months post -live.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Resource management, time tracking, and project management across professional services and development teams. Timesheet tracking, basic project management, and the reporting based on these two areas have been helpful. We now have a more accurate and immediate view of key core metrics.

Meets requirement for a sinlge application to record time and manage clients, projects & resources

What do you like best?

Our business is a small IT consulting firm that was looking for a single system that would capture consultants' time, manage their projects, and (more or less) automatically produce a client invoice. KeyedIn meets these requirements for us. To summarise, the system:

1. Provides considerable flexibility to manage resources, clients, projects and invoicing.

2. Is easy to use interface for staff to enter their time.

3. Has reasonably flexible reporting.

4. Includes good online system Help.

What do you dislike?

1. Reporting using pre-defined data sets does limit the reporting flexibility.

2. Can be confusing to configure at times because of the option to configure the same setting in multiple ways.

3. Doesn’t integrate with our cloud-based finance system.

4. Some configurations are limited, eg, invoicing frequency is set and new ones cannot be added.

Recommendations to others considering the product

We wanted a single system that could capture time and manage projects and (if configured properly) could produce a client invoice. Setting up the system as we did now virtually guarantees we can account for all of our staff's time and make sure we are invoicing our clients clients correctly with little manual effort in the process.
