"Un gran editor de HTML"

What do you like best?

What do you dislike?

Puede llegar a ser un poco confuso cuando entras en las opciones y herramientas más avanzadas, si no estás acostumbrado a editar HTML te puede hacer pasar un mal rato.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Con Kompozer puedes crear o editar tu página web con HTML muy fácilmente, lo recomiendo para aquellos que quieran empezar a aprender a construir páginas web de una manera sencilla y gratis.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

"Free WYSIWYG Editor!"

What do you like best?

It's Free! so that's great. But I also like how you don't have to install anything on your hard drive, so it keeps it light. It's very reminiscent of DreamWeaver, so if you're familiar with that it should come easy.

What do you dislike?

Its open source and fee, so that means that support won't be great. It also has somewhat limited features compared to the other WYSIWYG editors I've tried out.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I really like the editor. If your looking for a lightweight WYSIWYG editor this one should do the trick

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It's helping me edit my website so that I can easily see the changes and its all drag and drop so that's nice. and if i want to use custom HTML and CSS I still can, so it has that feature as well.

What WYSIWYG Editors solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"Free HTML Editor—You Get What You Pay For"

What do you like best?

KompoZer is a no-frills, fairly powerful HTML editor, and it's 100% free/open-source. The interface is reminiscent of Dreamweaver, and it's a decent quick substitute if you're unable or unwilling to pay for an Adobe license.

What do you dislike?

If you're used to the features of a commercial editor, you're going to sorely miss them when you work in KompoZer. Most of the core features you're looking for are going to be there, but KompoZer is still very much rough around the edges.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Weigh the benefits of going free/open-source against the long-term benefits of working in a closed, but supported environment. Personally, I found it more valuable to continue using Dreamweaver—but everyone has different needs.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I've used KompoZer in a pinch to work on simple website edits and email campaign files.

"Kompozer gets the job done. "

What do you like best?

What I liked best about Kompozer was the ease of use. It has a WYSIWYG based editor for laying out websites, so everything was pretty much drag and drop. It also had a built in code editor that you could use to change any elements of your website using HTML, CSS, or any other web based language you needed to.

What do you dislike?

It wasn't a terrible program, but it did have some issues. The html that was generated by it was very bloated, and could sometimes be a pain to get through. However, that's also the inherent nature of any WYSIWYG based web authoring software.

Kompozer is an open source program, which means it's free, but that also means that support may be inconsistent and there may be some discrepancies. It had a tendency to be somewhat unstable at times, so make sure you save often. Finally, the interface was definitely functional, but it wasn't particularly pleasing to the eye. That being said, the aesthetics never detracted from the experience.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It's free, so give it a chance. Kompozer is a really powerful program that can help you out, but there is a slight learning curve like with most new programs you will use. Plan for hiccups in work flow, and don't forget to save often. I would recommend this product as a good tool to have in the startup designer's kit.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

My main problem to solve was that I needed web authoring software and couldn't afford the Adobe Creative Suite at the time. I was able to accomplish every task that was needed, and with software that allowed my small start-up to use that wasn't bootlegged and served its purpose very well.

"KompoZer | A tool for designing websites"

What do you like best?

It's open source, meaning you don't have to pay anything to use it and also you can modify it according to your own personal needs.

What do you dislike?

It doesn't have much features or isn't feature-rich like other IDEs available in the market which are commercial. If you are looking for only simple websites, then Kompozer is for you!

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Using Kompozer for simple website edits and small website development purpose which doesn't have much commercial content.

"Free editor that gets the job done"

What do you like best?

It's free! But beside that - it's light, doesn't require installation on your hard drive, simple to use and gets the job done. I wouldn't use it to build an entire website but you can easily build HTML emails and the sort with KompoZer.

What do you dislike?

Limited features. The preview tab sometimes can be buggy and not display the HTML exactly how it will looks in a browser.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Obviously Dreamweaver and the sort will give you more features but if you are looking for a lightweight, free editor: KompoZer is what you are looking for.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Editing HTML for email marketing. Building landing pages.

"Another simple Mozilla platform "

What do you like best?

Didn't take long to learn at all! Very similar to Dreamweaver.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes crashes with really big files. Not too often though.

Recommendations to others considering the product

This is really simple if you're coming from using something like dreamweaver. - it's good at going back and forth between platforms too. i use dreamweaver at the office and kompozer at home and it's pretty seamless.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Easy to edit, similar to Dreamweaver... Platform to platform on the go is fairly quick.

This is really simple if you're coming from using something like dreamweaver. - it's good at going back and forth between platforms too. I use dreamweaver at the office and kompozer at home and it's pretty seamless. There was no price point for me which is a huge plus. Additionally, i dont have to go through publishing software - as this is an all-in-one.

"Using KompoZer for Webpage editing"

What do you like best?

It is free and can be used in the classroom. The software is distribution in a zip format, which can be unzipped and use directly in Windows. There is no need to worry about the administrative permission on a public computer used for editing pages.

What do you dislike?

Compared to other modern Webpage editors, the KompoZer is relatively simple and lack of professional touch. Sometimes the software is not reliable, making one of the editing page frozen or not editable. A workaround tip is to close this weird page and reopen it. It works all the time.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you can't afford the cost of licensing and need an editor to make some simple changes, this is the right product for you. Although it's not fancy, it does what it supposed to do.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Use KompoZer to edit personal pages and use it to lead someone who would like to learn basic Web Design. The best part of it is FREE.

"KompoZer does everything I need a WYSIWYG editor to do, which is admittedly not a lot."

What do you like best?

Honestly- I think the best part of KompoZer is the fact that it is a free, open-source project.

What do you dislike?

The only thing I really do not like about KompoZer, is the that the GUI seems a little dated. It functions just fine- it just looks like something out of 1997.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you need a sturdy (and free) WYSIWYG editor, KompoZer is a very solid choice.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I do not have a need for a WYSIWYG editor that often. Our company uses Google Sites for our website, so I normally use the embedded editor in Google Sites. To format more complex pages on the site, I like to use a WYSIWYG editor, and more often than not, that editor is KompoZer.

"An old fashion HTML Edotor... enough for small needs"

What do you like best?

It is 100% Free ! That is the biggest advantage of Kompozer.

It allow you to edit HTML Files fast and easily.

What do you dislike?

It is very very old fahsion, and all script are not will displayed.

If you have advanced HTML (ex: made by Mailchimp, Flexmail...) they might not well interpreted and it will be very hard to use the visual éditor... and so you have to use the HTML editor (lile in notepad !!)

Recommendations to others considering the product

It is free, robust and simple

But don't thing it will be enough for a pro usage.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

HTML customization
