Fairly easy to use, but has some glitches.

What do you like best?

There are so many different ways to search for information, that if you know how to search for what you're looking for, it's easy to jump right to it without having to filter through a ton of unnecessary information. I also like how quotes, orders, and invoices are linked and show who created them. It makes it easy to know what employee to track down if we have a question on the paperwork. I like how accessible information about Lightspeed is online. If I have a question about how to do something in Lightspeed, such as create a certain type of report, I can usually find the information extremely quickly just by googling it.

What do you dislike?

It seems like every time there is an update, something that previously worked no longer does. For example, after about every other update, it takes manually entered credit card payments just fine. The other every other time, it will crash the program every time you manually enter a card payment, so you have to force quit and reopen it. Batch printing statements also only works sporadically. Sometimes, even if we tell it to batch print, we have to manually hit the print button for each of our close to 60 statements.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Learn the tools in the tabs like how to create reports or export information. They save a lot of time!

(The only reason why I'm putting pricing as "n/a" is because I'm not the one who buys it, so I'm not sure what the pricing is or how it compares with other programs.)

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The Accounts Receivable window is easy to view and organize, which helps us keep track of outstanding invoices and know who needs contacted so we can collect. Because we use it on the computers at the counter, as well as in the office, it makes it a nice, centralized program that everyone with access to the computers knows how to use.

Lightspeed review

What do you like best?

Clean interface, easily customizable, easy to teach staff. Lightspeed makes it easy to manage inventory and sales.

What do you dislike?

Limited reporting with limited customizations on the reports. Lack of added decimals in costs does not allow you to split pennies, making it a balancing act to receive orders with odd costs.

Take lightspeed for a test drive and see what you really need in a POS system.

I needed a more modern POS system with a more efficient user experience. I was able to train staff faster and create inventory with more details information, creating a better customer experience.

Reliable POS system for tablet

What do you like best?

Straight forward and easy to use. Extremely user friendly. I like the ability to do all the backend stuff in one place. Made doing inventory very easy too.

What do you dislike?

Using separate pin pad for transactions, many times we could not get a separate pin pad to stay connected in the system. Would have to do a hard reboot every time.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It eliminated the need for multiple systems to set up a register/POS. We just used the ipad to input all the inventory and used the ipad as our “register”.

Great small business under 1 million a year

What do you like best?

The best is the clean design, and easy to train staff up on

What do you dislike?

If you have over a couple hundred thousand items it runs really slow... also the reports are not very in depth when looking at lots of data

Go with lightspeed retail... they’re putting on their r and d into that

Lightspeed POS

What do you like best?

User friendly. Simplicity for training purposes.

What do you dislike?

It only works for our store merchandise.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

At the moment just the fact that it is quick to train new users. It accomodates all store merch. Boat rentals and activity rentals.

What do you like best?

Absolutely love this software! It is very user friendly.

What do you dislike?

I dislike that you have to constantly enter a pin before sales and that you have to back out of the sale to do a return.
