"Quick & Easy Prototyping"

What do you like best?

I love how fast I can prototype code using LinqPad. Want to test an idea for a small function? Fire up LinqPad and see how that function could work.

It is also great how you can import nuget packages or even dll's from libraries you may already use.

What do you dislike?

It can be annoying when I'm wanting to import packages using NuGet but also look at my code. I can't have both windows up at the same time.

Recommendations to others considering the product

After using LinqPad myself, I then purchased a team license and shared it with my entire team. It is totally worth the money as it has made trying out new ideas quick & easy.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Mainly the ability to prototype quickly. There is a lot less bloat vs. creating a visual studio project. On my team we have also used it to create little utilities and then share those linqpad scripts with everyone else on the team.

"A robust and (after trying it once) absolutely must-have application for software developers"

What do you like best?

LinqPad, even in its free version, allows you to quickly and easily create small programs in C# or VB.net without the added bulk of utilizing Visual Studio as full IDE. That doesn't really imply that its lacking in anything just because its small - after registered, you get a lot of really great additions like Intellisense.

Not only that, but it can also be connected to most major databases (and there are even some third party plugins to utilize other data sources, like SOAP services for example) - which allows you to quickly create an Entity Framework - esque type query and do C# actions in it.

What do you dislike?

There is absolutely nothing that I dislike about LinqPad.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Register and get the full version! I tis most definitely worth it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

From time to time, we have come up with some production issues that require a quick fix - something as small as running a database query and picking up files from a location that match certain criteria, to everyday "patch jobs" that need to be run - preparing files for proper processing, building wrappers around legacy applications that cannot be updated at this time, etc.

"Testing and learning LINQ queries"

What do you like best?

You can easily connect to any of the supported database systems and start querying your database using LINQ. It's super easy and very helpful to design and test complex queries.

What do you dislike?

In the beginning the User Interface is a bit confusing and you have to read the documentation to understand the basics of the tool.

"Great for LINQ queries and more!"

What do you like best?

I like how simple Linqpad is! Plus, it is super lightweight which makes it easy and quickly to use on anytime you need it. As the software vendor say it: "LINQPad is not just for LINQ queries, but any C#/F#/VB expression, statement block or program" which make it quite useful.

What do you dislike?

When your first open it, it can be confusing. Thinks could be clearer.

Some minors issues sometimes happens when compiling.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It just does it! You definitely should try it for free !

"Fantastic C# and Database management tool is a must have!"

What do you like best?

The convenience of being able to test code and queries on the fly is now a must have in my toolbox.

What do you dislike?

The preference options are a little lacking and I would like to be able to customize my editor a little more than currently available.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you develop in C# then you need this. Being able to write and test snippets of code is fantastic as well as using this for scripting and managing databases... I consider this a must have.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Working with large datasets, LinqPad allows me to test and refine bits of code and queries in a significantly faster and more lightweight editor than say Visual Studio.
